Many thanks to Sue Riley and her very had working committee for the invite to judge at Stafford and District. Many thanks for their super hospitality. I had some lovely dogs over the course of the day.
BIS
Overall, the BIS line up was good. I thought my winners stood out. BIS was the Pekingese Lizlanmor Declaration. Quality Pekingese male. Pleasing head of correct shape with nice open features and lovely large dark eye, correctly shaped and set ears and with non-obstructive wrinkle. All finished with a beautiful mane of correct texture. Short neck into good shoulders. I really liked his typical front assembly. He is well slung and not at all loose at the elbow, heavy boned and good flat foot. Correct body shape although I would for my personal preference like a fraction less body coat. Good rear. Correct tail set without kink. Moved typically and whilst pushed hard by the Beagle his maturity and finish could not be denied. Apparently, I gave his sire a good limit class some years ago. Apparently on a CC already so good luck. RBIS. Beagle. Eardley Trot On. Blanket Tri male. I had this young male under me in the Puppy Stakes at WKC and I thought him a very nice prospect, but he really didn’t help his handler and was not ready. Today was a different story just a few weeks on. He is still a raw male and needs time for him to fill out and his head to fully break, but I thought him a real super puppy and a very good prospect. Has a lovely overall shape when free stacked is typical and houndy. Head is of good proportions, and he has a super dark eye which is well set and gives him a very typical and desired expression. Decent neck into well laid shoulder and correct upper arm length. Well filled in front. Lovely round bone and tight foot. Needs to rib out a little more but is well ribbed back. Well bent at the stifle but in no way overdone. Tail set is correct as is carriage. In super condition this dog has a lovely side gait. Just needs some time but could not be denied for his overall type and construction.
BPIS
A lovely line up of puppies. Some real prospects here and some nice very dogs went without an award. BPIS Beagle who was RBIS. RBPIS was the Briard. Fostebrie Hope’s Sensation. This bitch appealed as she came into the ring for her overall size and balance. Good head with good strength through the muzzle. Nice dark eye and well-set ear. Decent length of neck into lovely well laid shoulder. Good breath of chest. Good bone. Overall body proportions are correct. Nicely angulated hind quarters. In excellent condition and the best of coats. Excelled herself on the move with typical gait and super drive from the rear. I thought her quite lovely, and she pushed the beagle hard. I am sure she will have a good career ahead of her.
BVIS
A quality selection of veterans.
BVIS. This went to the Dalmatian Dalfin Actual Fact. ShCEx. Full of himself and when he first came into the ring he was less than collected, but on inspection he is a very nice quality male. Pleasing head of correct proportions and of decent breadth of skull. Clean lips. Nice ears well set. Good neck into well placed shoulders. Good round bone and lovely tight foot. Correct depth to the chest and well sprung back. Moderately angulated and well muscled. Nice tail well carried and nicely spotted. Overall correctly spotted and in good coat. Settled into his job and moved very well. RBVIS. Std Wirehaired Dachshund. Tendrow I Am The One from Collidach. JW. Winner of AV Veteran hound under me.
Hound Group
Afghan
Puppy. 1. Istani Omar Sheriff. Light cream puppy who is indeed just that. A typical wilful Afghan male. Presented when settled a good overall shape. Good length to his head and nice dark eye correctly placed. Good neck. Decent length of upper arm and well-placed shoulder. Level topline. Correct croup and tailset. Decent bone with lovely large foot. When settled was ok on the move.
Yearling. This was a difficult class for me. 1. Istani Davidoff The Game JW. Quality male. Good head and expression. Correct eye, dark and well set. Good neck and excellent shoulder. Could be shorter he is a fraction longer than I would like. Holds his topline, well-spaced hipbones and good croup. Won this on his front assembly and correct action. 2. Amaserwah Any Way The Wind Blows at Jazzmeenah. Presented a very typical outline and squarer than the first dog. Very typey gold. Pleasing head of good length and strength and with nice eye. Good bone and decent foot. For me he is steep in the shoulder which detracts from his otherwise qualities and is evident on the move and this cost him the place here. Good topline and lovely tail set and carriage. Good hindquarters. In super jacket. 3. Amaserwah A Kind of Magic with Casachared
Post Graduate. Jazzmeenah Suraya. Gold bitch. Not the most glamorous bitch and even for me I would like more length to her jacket and topknot. Nevertheless, she was for me today all Afghan. Super head. Typically feminine but head full of strength with good string underjaw. Good neck and shoulder. Lovely large feet. Shoulders long and sloping and set well back. Good depth of chest and correct spring of rib. Correct and prominent hipbones set wide apart. Good hindquarters. Moved very well in typical Afghan style despite the small ring.
Beagle
Puppy. 1. Eardley Well Read Fred Six month old quality tri. Super head free from any wrinkle and with a lovely dark eye completing the expression. Well set ears of good length. Good neck into excellent shoulders. Super round bone and lovely tight foot. Level topline held on the move. Nicely angulated rear. Moved well. Promising but just needs time and to grow on. 2. Clarismore Winter Luxury. Another nice youngster. Quality through and very houndy. Well made throughout and well balanced. Good neck and shoulder, good front assembly, well angulated rear. In good hard condition and moved well. I just preferred the overall expression of 1.
Yearling. 1. Blunderhall Flirty Gertie. Not a big bitch but nice to go over. Pleasing head and expression, although would like a fraction more breadth through but she is still young. Super neck and shoulder. Well sprung rib and well sprung back. Good topline and tail set. Could be a little tidier coming and going. In good condition.
Post Graduate. Blunderhall Saucy Sally JW. I very much liked this 13 month tri bitch. Nice for size and so well balanced. Good head and expression. Well set leathers of correct length. Super round bone and really super feet. Well ribbed up. Nice hind angulation. Moved very well. Should do well.
Open. Eardley Trot On. BPIS. RBIS. 2. Clarismore Twist and Shout. O/W. Nice for overall size and shape. Another in super hard condition. Pleasing head of good proportions and lovely dark eye, I just preferred the overall expression of 1. Good bone and feet, although a fraction heavier in front than my preference. Well ribbed. Super topline, powerful loin and good tailset. Moved very well.
Greyhound
Post Graduate. Two very different types. 1. Kellsboro Sasha. A veteran bitch, who is losing her colour but otherwise is lovely. This 7 year old appealed here for her overall type and shape. Nice size for a bitch. Correct front assembly. Good for bone and such good feet for a veteran. Good depth of brisket and well filled in front. Moderate rear end. Moved steadily although could be a little less close going away. 2. Inchydoney Memories Une Virgin Mary Avec Stonelow (IMP). Not a small dog. Preferred the overall type and topline of 1. Pleasing head proportions and good strength of underjaw. Would prefer for preference a darker eye even for his light colour. Good length of neck. OK for bone. Breaks in topline which detracts from his overall appearance. Movement was precise.
Open. 1. Droopy’s Tavern. Another well-conditioned veteran. 8 years old and in super nick. Nice for overall size and well put together. Good depth of chest. Good bone. Well angulated rear. Such an easy mover and so light on her feet, at this age is a joy to watch. Well made good for type BOB.
Irish Wolfhound
Junior. Bechaire’s Aodh Fire of Ravensecret. Still quite raw but a nice prospect. Only 6 months of age and very much a baby this young IW is of good size and has a pleasing outline. As required, a series of smooth curves. Good length of head and of adequate breadth. Good eye. Ears need to settle a little. Good length of a strong neck into well placed shoulders. Needs to drop but good breadth of chest. Topline of sufficient length. Lovely hindquarters. Good bone and feet. Needs some fill out and get some substance to him. I liked him. Not easy I realise, but would like the handler to let him go a bit. Moved well.
Rhodesian Ridgeback
Puppy. 1. Priorpark Pride and Joy to Nzuri. A very nice young puppy bitch who was an easy winner of this class. Presents a lovely outline. Lovely for type. Head is of good length, has strength to it and is free from excess. Super length of a clean neck. Well placed shoulders. Good bone and lovely tight foot. Good depth to her and not too wide. Good topline. Well angulated rear. Correct clear ridge which is symmetrical and of correct length. Moved well. Pushed the BOB very hard. 2. Laralinwood Papageno. Very raw and exuberant puppy. Gave his novice handler a hard time. Nevertheless, he is a nice puppy and of good type. All is in the right place. Couldn’t really assess his movement. Dog and handler need ringcraft as they could be a good partnership. In good condition.
Yearling. 1. Vkloof Lady Lambo Hurcan. Bitch of good size. Nice overall shape. Pleasing head and expression. Good neck and shoulder. Good bone and nice feet. Falls off a fraction at the croup. Good hindquarters. Moved with drive although could be a fraction tidier in front.
Post Graduate. 1. Vkloof Lady Lambo Hurcan. Winner of Yearling. 2. VkloofDuke Lambo Galardo JW. Upstanding male who is super for substance. Nice outline. A little too string in head for me, but good eye and well set ears. Good neck and shoulder. Deep in chest. Good hindquarters. Needs to learn his game and settle down a little. When he moves however it is precise.
Open. 1. Priorpark Point and Click JW. A very nice male and from the same kennel as the puppy winner. A clever breeder as I also awarded this kennel a POTY day heat this year. Very nice for type. Pleasing head and expression. Lovely neck into the best of shoulders. Deep in chest. Good bone. Good topline. Correct ridge. Nicely angulated behind. Moved well. 2. Laralinwood Papageno. Second in Puppy.
Dachshund Min Long Haired
Junior. 1.Rivandell Nymphadora. Red bitch who impressed for her overall proportions. Head of good length with pleasing eye shape and set. Well placed ears. Good neck and shoulder. Correct length and placement of upper arm. Good topline and tail set. Good rear. Enough ground clearance. Still very raw and needs time to fill and mature through. Moved well.
Post Graduate. 1. Rivandell Osha. Another pleasing for size. Pleasing head piece of good length and overall proportions. Correct eye. Would prefer a fraction more length of neck. Good bone and nice feet. Well developed breastbone. Good topline and correct length of croup. Good tail correctly set and carried. Moved well with drive.
Open. 1. Ralines Lemosas For Rivandell. Good size and overall shape. Nice head proportions but felt her eye was too round for ideal. Correct ground clearance. Nice overall body proportions. Supe bone and feet. Good neck and shoulder. Fraction wider in front than I would like. Super topline which is held on the move. Good rear assembly. Moved well.
Dachshund Long Haired
Junior. This was a very good class. Both of super quality. 1. Swansford Debhoradora. Very nicely made L/H of good overall proportions. I thought she has a super head and expression. Head is of required proportions and of adequate length. Good strong muzzle slightly arched. Lovely eye of correct shape. What is did like was good sized teeth. Very typical front assembly and well bone forelegs into good tight foot. Enough ground clearance under her jacket. Of correct overall length. Well angulated rear but not overdone. Moved very well with rear drive. Group 2. 2. Breezelyn A Long Story at Gainscroft. Another one with many the same qualities as Debhoradora and should also have a bright career. Well made through and again with adeauqte clearance and overall length. Well-muscled up and in A1 condition with super jacket. Moved well. I just preferred the overall eye and expression of 1.
Post Graduate. 1. Abydezi Northern Lights. Nice for type and overall shape and balance. Pleasing head and expression. Good eye correctly set and well-set ears of correct breadth and length. Well ribbed back. Strong topline and correct tail set. Well developed sternum. Would prefer tighter feet and to be a little more up on the pastern.
Open. Gainscroft Dashing Dudley. Nicely made L/H bitch with lots to like. Presents a very good outline and is of correct body proportions throughout. Good length of head although for me a fraction too broad in back skull. Good eye. Well laid shoulder and with good length of upper arm. Well developed sternum. Nice underline and topline. Good tail set. Moved well. 2. Abydachs Renegade Angel at Abydezi. Another nice one. Well made and of correct length. Good head proportions and good eye, but just falls a little too much under the eye for preference. Good neck and shoulder. Super front. Well maintained topline and well angulated rear. Moved very well.
Dachshund Min Wire Haired
A small but quality entry.
Junior. 1. Emem Joyful Sunshine. What a lovely young puppy this is. Just as you would want gassy and full of it. Very nicely headed bitch with correct skull to muzzle proportion. Well set dark eye. Correct leathers, well set and of correct length and breadth. Nice front assembly with well developed sternum for her age. Good height proportions and of correct length. Well angulated rear. Moved very well and with drive. Tail correctly carried despite her age and enthusiasm. Just needs to grow into a harsher jacket. A very nice puppy. Adult group 4 and on another day could be higher up the line. I liked her. 2. Kaytian The Suncaller. This is another nice youngster and unlucky to find 1 on such form. Good for overall type. Well-made throughout and with super topline and tailset. Well off for bone and good feet. In the best of jackers which is a credit to her owner. Moved very well.
Post Graduate. 1. Winner of second in junior.
Open. 1. Emem Hope for Sunshine JW. Quality Mini Wire with much to like. Good head of correct proportions. Typical and correct front assembly. Good sternum. Nice underline. Good neck and shoulder. Correct rear angulation. Moved very well and with good drive from the rear. Would prefer her eye a fraction less round and needs to grow a new jacket.
Dachshund Wire Haired
Like the Miniature wire haired, another quality entry.
Junior. 1. Brumberhill Biscuit to Ambiesque. This young seven month old puppy immediately appealed for her outline. I thought her quite lovely through. Pleasing head of correct proportions with good eye and correct ear set. Her neck into shoulder is quite beautiful and accentuated by expert flat work on the coat. Well developed breastbone. Good front assembly with correct bone and good feet of correct length. Super hind quarters. Moved well and pushed hard for BOB. Puppy group 2 to the RBIS. 2. Salixian Gracious Wings. Another nice one with a pleasing head. Good front although could be a little stronger in pastern. Just needs to strengthen in topline. Super rib. Good rear. Moved very well. Well put down.
Post Graduate. 1 Feldhund Moonlight. Smart 11 month. Old. I liked him very much and he is very nicely made. Super head and expression. Scored highly for his overall balance. Moved very well. Should do well. Another so well put down.

Correct length of upper arm and well-placed shoulder of decent length. Correct topline. Moved very well. 2. Devondax Earmed My Stripes at Littlecopse. Brindle male who is very raw and needs time which he has on his side. Good head although preferred the overall expression of 1. Good breastbone development. Post Graduate. 1. Winterfield Lady In Red. Pleasing for overall type. Good head and expression with pleasing eye. Good strength of foreface. Front assembly is correct with good strong forearm. Good topline and tail set. Won this class on the correct length of rib cage and shorter loin. Moved well. BOB. 2. Littlecopse Black Opium. /T Nice for size. Decent head and expression. A little more enthusiasm and she will do very well. 2. Crosscop Just A Friend. Fawn/White. Another from the top drawer and much to commend here. Presents a lovely outline and covers plenty of ground without any over exaggeration. Super front assembly. Just a fraction top size for me and thus I preferred the winner for size.
