Scarborough Open Show

July 2024

What a friendly show. Well done to the committee and those who braved the rain. Shame due to the weather there were a fair few absentees. I don’t blame you the weather wasn’t what we should expect in July!

German Shepherd

Limit 1. Hudenkraft Wolf Ravine. English type and first impressions are of an upstanding male. Nice head piece with good eye, although was not using his ears today. Good length of neck which is strong and leading to good shoulders. Well off for bone. Good topline with no exaggeration. Pleasing hocks for a GSD. Very sound on the move. Out of coat which was not helped today in the weather conditions.

Open Hudenkraft Wolf Ravine. Winner of limit.

Australian Shepherd

Open.1 Allmark One Of These Days. What a lovely tri dog this is. Standing alone but he immediately impressed me with his size and balance as soon as he came into the ring. Good head and expression, nice moderate sized ears which are well set. Very good shoulders. Has the best of oval bone, correct for a male and leading to the best of feet which are so well kept and compact. Good length. Nicely angulated. Moved typically. Pleased to see him go group 2 to the super Shetland sheepdog.

Shetland Sheepdogs

Thank you for such a lovely entry.

Puppy: 1 Una Fortuna For Tooralie. This was a nice start to my day. Quality young sable puppy. Stood alone but could easily have topped a good class. This young dog immediately impressed for her overall silhouette. Super quality balanced elegant head nice and clean in back skull. Correctly shaped eye set obliquely. Correct parallel planes. Nice small ears and well used for a youngster and in these weather conditions. Good neck and shoulder. Correct front. Nice bone. Ideal topline and croup. Moved well. Just needs to fill out and strengthen behind. Should do well.

Post graduate 1 Grandgenes Hey Good Lookin. Sable and white. Quality young male who instantly appealed for his overall balance and shape. He has the most lovely head and expression, with the most beautiful dark well placed eye of correct shape. Best of ears well used. Correct head proportions. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Lovely bone and feet. Good depth of chest and well ribbed back. Good rear. Lovely on the move with good drive from behind. In excellent jacket and in A1 condition. 2 Esstremere Easy Rider. Quality B/merle who pushed the first dog. Another with a very typical and pleasing headpiece, with good overall proportions and length, clean in back skull and neat dark eye. Small well used ears. Nice bone and feet. Would prefer a fraction more length of neck to complete the picture. Good topline and tail set. Nicely angulated rear. Moved well. Well marked Merle. 3 Esstremere Silver Lady

Limit Omebird Gives Warm Hugs. Pleasing for overall type. Preferred the size as compared to the second placed dog. Nice head and eye. Good ears. Nice front and good shoulders. Correct topline, In good coat. Moved well. 2 Echolynn Saxophonic. Blue merle. Nice shape but overall, a little on the large size for me. Nice flat skull and correct wedge-shaped head but just a fraction too much stop for me. Good bone and feet. Correct topline and tail set. Lovely on the move very sound.

Open Ch/FR/DUI/LUX/INt Ch Tooralies Pie In The Sky. This sable and white was a standout for me. He is a very well made Shetland. This dog has a super head which is the correct shape and correct skull to muzzle ratio. So clean in back skull. Well placed and correctly set eye together with the lovely ears completed the expression. Lovely front with correct bone and well arched oval foot. Nice shoulders. Well sprung rib correct topline with a lovely desired graceful sweep over the loin. Moved very well. Easy BOB today. Pleased to see he won the group under Patsy Hollings and then RBIS under Tony Allcock. Well done. 2 Ristine Emerald. B/W who has lots to like. Her head markings do not help her and make her stop more pronounced than it actually is, you have to get your hands on her to recognise a good head. Well made throughout and in super bloom with coat of correct texture. A smooth graceful and sound mover. 3

Dobermann

Limit 1.Aritaur Dyptique at Jagelka. Ten and a half month old brown bitch. Nice type. Did not help her handler but when she settled and pulled herself together, she presented a lovely shape. Good head. Nice through the shoulder. Decent front assembly. Super bone and feet. Falls off a fraction at the croup. Nice hind quarters. When settled moved well. Needs time.

Open 1. Tahi-reme Ute. Not used to handler and a little unruly. Pleasing head. Decent length of neck, ok shoulders although could be a fraction more laid back. Good bone and feet. Topline is not correct and detracts. Moved erratically.

French Bulldog

Special Yearling 1. Bandit King of hammerbarn. Smart young French Bulldog. Quality brindle. Super head and expression. Nice dark eye. Correct desired ear which is well set and carried and open. Nice neck and shoulder. Correct topline. Not overdone behind. Could be tidier going away.

Strong neck of good length into good shoulders. Well developed chest and keel. Correct topline for the Schnauzer. In excellent Harsh Jacket.

Limit 1 Danelbeks A kind of Magic. Nice shape and appealed for breed type. Good head and expression with neat high set ear. Would prefer a fraction more neck. Good bone. Nice hind quarters. In a lovely tight harsh jacket.

Open 1 Danelbeks Arthur Mo. Very nice for size. Pleasing head. Good neck and shoulder. Decent width but would prefer a fraction more forechest. Lovely hind angulation. Well sprung. Nice jacket. Super front action although could be a little tidier behind.

Limit 1 Mapimakastar Honey Edee Mio at Cavateena. Winner of SY. 2 Mapimakastar Chanel Mio. L/W. Beautiful head and expression and I preferred the head of 2 to 1. Really has that chrysanthemum-like expression. Good neck and shoulder. Short muscular legs and well off for bone. A fraction longer in loin than 1 and not quite the rib of Edee Mio.

Open. 1 Charmant Charlotte Enigmatyczny Zalatel Mapimakastar. Nice for type with. Good head and expression. Nice body proportions. Well ribbed. Well-rounded and muscular thighs. Could have a slightly higher tail set. Moved very well.

Tibetan Terrier

Limit Hardawaithe Orson Welles. Not a small dog but of good overall shape. Pleasing head and expression. Good eye and ear. Well made front but a little more hind angulation would help. Good jacket of correct texture. Moved Ok.

Open Hardawaithe Orson Welles.

Chihuahua SC

Special Yearling

1 Sunlea Bouncing Back From Prinleigh. Won this on head and expression. Nicely made through. Correct topline and tail. Moved very well with lovely front action. Just needs more time to finish. 2 Frasama's Stellina For Nareselm. B/T Nice for size and overall shape. Preferred the ear set on 1. Good front. Nice bone. Picks up a little too much in front for my preference.

Yorkshire Terrier

Special Yearling. Litalees I'm A Celebrity. Very raw young bitch, but I completely fell for her. Although a little bedraggled in the end by the heavy drizzle, this puppy never stopped showing. She has a most lovely head and expression. Lovely sharp eye. Neat ears. Lovely shoulder placement and a good front with straight legs and tight round feet. Well sprung with solid level topline which was maintained on the move. Coat is coming with regard to length, but the colour is already there. Lovely deep tan and the blue is of correct shade. I really liked her and wish her well.

Chinese Crested

Limit. 1 Chundercrest Estrella. This is quite an enchanting Crested. Striking B/W who is lovely for type. Lips nice and tight. Lovely large low set ears which are well fringed. Good neck and shoulders well laid back. Good length to the skull which is nice and clean through the back skull. Good breadth of chest and well-set tail. Moved with animation. She has a lovely crest, but the owner had scissored this which completely spoilt her appearance. This is her first Crested and she was willing to learn and knows not do this again. I think this young crested could do well.

Open. 1 Chundercrest Estrella. Winner of limit.

Coton De Tulear

Special Yearling1. Valeast Betty Boop. Rather smart 6 month old at her first show. Just very raw but all is in place. Good head and expression and the most beautiful pigment. Head is correct with ideal skull to muzzle ratio. Correct topline. Still in puppy coat. Moved well.

Limit 1 Taschillies Princess Angel. Another of good breed type. Correct head and body proportions. Well muscled. Good bone and feet. Better coat than her kennel mate Betty Boop. Needs to have a little more enthusiasm on the move.

AV veteran Toy

1 Cotonkiss Frozen Xplosion. Very Lovely Coton who I could have done well for in the breed. Super for type. Correct topline and overall shape. Correct head proportions and ideal groove. Expressive eye and pigmented eye rims. Good front. Overall body proportions are correct. Correct coat texture. 2 Ingerdorm Affenlicious For Rangimaria. A real veteran and in such amazing condition for age. Of beautiful type and although colour has gone coat texture is super. Lovely typical head and expression. Moderate hind quarters. Moved and handled well.

Toy Group

Group

A well represented group with some nice dogs. First was the super black and tan miniature pinscher Ch Charpin Ottomatic. Not a big dog but very impressive. Has a lovely clean head with lovely small ears. Clean in back skull with keen dark oval eye. Lovely through the neck and shoulder. Well developed forechest. Correct topline for the breed. Well angulated. Nicely set tail. This dog moves as the breed is supposed to and which is a rarity to see. Reserve was the Pug Afterglow Wild West Hero at Sunlea. Another quality dog. Young male but very mature for his age. He has a lovely head and expression and super pigment. Neat ears and good eye. Lovely bone and feet. Good tail. Moved well.
