My thanks to the Committee for my invitation to judge at this lovely show, and to my extremely hardworking stewards who ensured that the ring ran smoothly and efficiently. I was pleased with my entry of such lovely dogs, and owners who accepted my decisions with sportsmanship. Thankfully the rain held off for us, making it an even more enjoyable event for all.

Very good pigment and shown in excellent condition. Moved correct away and toward with very good far reaching effortless sidegait.

2 years old black and white male in very good condition. Slightly stretched proportions overall. Would prefer a more angled layback of shoulder, but upper arm of good length. Moved out well around the ring

Just under 12 months, tall, blue merle male of stretched proportions. Head in proportion to body with lovely ear carriage. One brown and one blue eye. Good angles front and rear with good croup ad overline. Moved a tad close away and towards with good sidegait.

2nd Deakin, Mr D C & Mrs C Sandwick Glassheart

9 months old male, still a baby. Very refined throughout and yet to mature in many ways. Very good angles front and rear with very good depth of markings. Well balanced and of good proportions. Moved well around the ring but will improve with even more training and experience.

5 years old sable and white male with Head of correct proportions and melting expression. Stands very correct all round. Good angles front and rear. Moved slightly close away and single tracked towards. Initially hopped on the spikey grass, but soon showed a rhythmic smooth gait with good reach.

10 month old female All Black. Tall and carrying some weight. Lovely head with strong ears and good dark eye which could be better shaped. Normal coat in good condition. Shoulder could be longer and better angled and upper arm a little steep. Croup short. Wide moving away and correct towards. Sidegait showed good coordination. (A first time in the ring for handler and dog I hear)

Natural bob. Moved correct away and towards with powerful sidegait and spirited attitude, which gave her the edge today.

6.5 years old female shown in good condition. Good head with good pigment, but not using her ears to advantage. Neck could be longer. Body proportions correct. Slightly upright shoulder. Moved correct away and towards, with rhythmic sidegait.

2.5 year old liver spotted male showing correct pigment throughout. Masculine well shaped head. Correct body proportions, level back, with matched angles front and rear. Would prefer cleaner spotting. Initially lacked drive in his movement but when settled showed a good spacious sidegait.

3.5 year old black spotted female. Lovely feminine head with good pigment throughout. High wither with sloping, straight backline. Hind angles slightly more than moderate. Very good mover, covering the ground well.

Moved a little close away and toes in a little towards. Moved with an even rhythmic sidegait. Would prefer a little more animation.

16 months old cream male. Good masculine head of correct proportions, which could perhaps be a little better chiselled, but that may yet develop. Tall but with matching bone. Very good overall proportions. Lovely lay of shoulder and good angles. Moved correct away and towards with lovely flowing sidegait. Would be better for a larger ring.

9 months old black female with very attractive slender and feminine head. Lovely set dark eyes. Showed good square body proportions. Moved correct away and towards. On the move, didn’t show enough reach as the handler ran with food right on her nose, which altered her outline.
