Firstly let me thank the officers and committee for the invitation to judge at their lovely show, I had a very enjoyable day in good company, fantastic hospitality and a friendly atmosphere made it complete. Secondly as always I thank you the exhibitors for a lovely entry and turn out, and who entrusted my judgement and handling of their lovely dogs.


English Setters

Graduate (2) 1. Atyoe and Taylor – Ravensett Cappuccino with Samelen. Young bitch with a lovely outline and showing style on entering the ring, lovely expression and showing a kind dark eye, head with correct to type plains and with a feminine look, neck with a slight arch and strong flowing onto a well set laid back shoulder, good bone at front, chest deep and with a good spring to rib, strong and toned across the croup, rear with good 1st and 2nd thigh on a good bend to stifle, moved steadily and cleanly. 2. Thomas and Sharples – Kanietter Sea Shanty. Dog with good outline, defined stop on a male looking head equal across the plains, expressive in eye, neck strong with a slight arch, feet tight and with nice arched toes, good depth to chest with plenty of well sprung rib, rear quarters with well toned muscle in thighs, coat in good condition, moved well.

Open (2) 1. Thomas’s – Kanietter Sarka. Mature looking boy with a steady outline very handsome and with a lovely expression, good dark eye, ears set low, neck long and strong and with a slight arch fitting nicely into a well laid back shoulder, muscular at front with good bone, brisket deep and with good width, sound well sprung rib, holding a level topline, feet tight and well padded, loin strong and with width full of toned muscle, rear quarters again well toned on a well bent stifle, movement was free and with a positive ground covering gait. BOB. 2. Hilditch’s – Barleymoats Summer Breeze. Nice in outline and with good presence, head with correct plains and a good defined stop, held topline on a short back, front with good bone, nice depth to chest with good rib, rear quarters with good tone, movement was a little wayward in noisy surroundings.

German Shorthaired Pointer.

Junior (2) 1. Adams – Keigame Mystique Aurora. Compact young bitch with a good outline and a confident strut, overall showing maturity and power, head with a good stop and nicely raised eyebrows giving the intelligent and affectionate look, a nice eye colour, earnest good, neck with a good amount of muscle thickening at a good lay of shoulder, neat straight forelegs, chest with good depth and not too wide as elbows are neatly tucked in not impeding movement, ribs well sprung and reaching well back to a nice tuck up at loin, good rear quarters with well toned 1st and 2nd thighs, good bend to stifle, this little package built well was smooth and with a reaching gait that flowed round the ring. BPIB. 2. Roberts – Cwngiedd Amman Bach. Good shape and plains to head, nice dark eye with good expression, neck muscular and with slight arch, front  with good bone on straight forelegs, nice depth to chest and with a good spring to rib, strong across the loin, nice bend in stifle and good toning to thighs, just wasn’t his day on the move.

Open ( 1) 1. Whittaker’s – Pingarypoint Milk Shake. Bitch with a good outline and showing maturity, nothing excessive or over the top, balanced in head with a good clean dark eye, giving  a lovely affectionate expression, neck strong and toned with a neat arch flowing into a good lay back in shoulder, forelegs strong and straight without any coarseness, depth to chest well in proportion to the rest of the body with a good spring to rib, loin and croup sufficiently wide and strong, powerful toned 1st and 2nd thighs, good bend to stifle which enabled the dog to give a driven movement covering the ground with an easy free flowing gait. BOB.

Pointer.

Junior (2,1) 1. Newcombe – Kimifleur Hercules. Youngster that was happy just having fun with the handler, well defined stop on a well shaped head and a visible occiput, nice colour to eye, neck long and strong, good depth to chest with well sprung rib, good toned muscle in the rear on both 1st and 2nd thigh, moved smoothly and with drive from a strong rear.

Post Graduate (1,1).

Open (2,1) 1. Mathews – Sonham C’est La Vie. Good looking bitch with a lovely outline, nothing about her looked out of place, smooth lines and strength in the first look, head with correct equal proportions, good stop and visible occiput, neck strong and long smoothly flowing into a long well laid shoulder, good strength in the front with nice straight forelegs, chest/brisket deep and with plenty of heart room, well sprung rib back to nice short couplings, 1st and 2nd thighs well muscled and on a good bend of stifle, tight oval feet with nicely arched toes, driven smooth action allowed her to cover the ring with ease. BOB.

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers

Graduate (7,3) 1. Adshead Ms & Miss – Afonbach Syrax JW. Great outline on entering the ring, compact and strong looking, good shape to head with a nice eye, strong through neck to a well laid back shoulder, front with good strong and straight forelegs, pasterns strong too, depth to chest with a nice spring to rib, well toned muscular thighs and a good bend to stifle, coat in good condition , soft and dense, movement was smooth covering the ring with a powerful reach. 2. Johnson’s – Tarnlaikers Ms Dynamite. 9 month Puppy with a nice outline, well developed head and a nice eye colour and shape, neck nicely muscled for one so young, shoulders well laid, front neat and with good bone, good depth to chest and rib developing nicely, rear quarters showed strength with well toned 1st and 2nd thighs, moved with good reach. BPIB.

Open (8,6) 1. Adshead Ms & Miss – SH Ch  Afonbach Winter is Coming JW. Mature male with a great to type outline, entering the ring holding a nice topline with head carried well, good eye shape and colour giving an intelligent expression, head well formed and to good proportions, neck strong, muscular and set well to a good lay back of shoulder, powerfully built forelegs and strong pasterns, good depth to chest and with a good spring to rib, strong through the loin and to well developed well toned 1st and 2nd thighs, stifle well bent, confident powerful and ground covering movement with good reach and parallel through fore and aft views, coat in good condition. BOB. 2. Johnson’s – Stellenbosch Alameda of Tarnlaikers (AI). Older dog still with a lot to like, haed with good shape and proportions, nice eye, sturdy neck of good length, shoulders well laid and with a good return of upper arm, feet round and tight, pasterns strong, depth to chest and good rib, thighs with good toning, nice bend to stifle, moved with good reach and determined drive.

English Springer Spaniel

Graduate (1) 1. Lewis & Bullock – Trixhund Shut That Door. At just 6 months old showing great promise, with a really happy bouncy character, outline on initial stack was good well defined and to type, defined stop, good proportions and planes to head with a good dark eye, ears with good length and lobular level with eye, neck strong with good strength and set to a well laid shoulder, front with straight forelegs of good bone, well developed deep chest with a good spring of rib, strong in loin , broad well toned thighs, neat bend to stifle, moved with the typical front swing which still enabled the dog to cover the ground with ease and with drive. Open (1) 1. Bullock’s – Trixhund This Is My Destiny. With a look of strength and a balanced  steady outline this happy dog showed true Springer character, head with correct shape and proportions and with a good stop, nice dark eye giving a friendly expression, neck is strong and well toned, tapering towards a well laid back shoulder, forelegs straight and strong, elbows placed nicely, Good depth to chest with plenty of good sound well sprung rib carried back to a muscled loin and sturdy couplings, 1st and 2nd thighs with good muscle on a neat bend to stifle, feet tight and rounded, driven ground covering movement with the characteristic front action, coat straight and in good condition. BOB.
