I would like to thank the committee and officers of the club for the opportunity to Judge at their recent Premier show. Also a huge thank you to all the exhibitors that entered their dogs under me, it gave me great pleasure to go over some wonderful examples of the breeds that I had.

Brittany

Puppy (1) 1. Taylor and Gill’s – Unique De La Riviere Ouareau Avec Amfreville (IMP FRA). On entering the ring this pup was happy energetic, absolutely enjoying life, far too busy to take this show stuff seriously, but that makes for a lovely youngster, at 9 months old has all the characteristics for a lovely Brittany, good outline with parallel lines to the skull, good colour to eye with a gentle look, ear set high, neck clean with enough length into a well set shoulder, muscular front with straight forelegs, deep in chest with a nice rounded shape, topline good with a gentle slope to croup, rear developing well and the muscle tone is coming on the thighs, movement was invigorating and short with no deviation from the topline. BPIB.

Post Graduate (1) 1. Thompson’s – Ravenna Noisette Avec Meadowline. Another youngster at just 12months out to have fun, looks to be having a bit of a growth spurt, with a nice head having good plains showing a lovely dark eye with no harshness in expression, moderate stop, neck clean cut and set well into shoulder, forequarters neat and straight forelegs with good muscle, elbows tucked in to body, thighs broad with good toning, good shape and with the moderate bend in stifle, movement was fun and with a brisk stride giving the handler a good workout.

Open (1) 1.  Taylor and Gill’s – Rennes De Pasmazgeng. Very good in profile and looking very much to type, nothing course and all moderate, head with good plains and with neat muzzle, eyes with a quizzical expression and of a good colour, high set ears with a correct shape, neck clean cut into a good shoulder set, front muscular and having toned straight forelegs, chest deep, elbows in and level to brisket, feet firm and round, toned muscular thighs with a nice shape, neat bend in stifle and vertical in pastern, gait is swift and short maintaining the topline with no over extension. Irish Water Spaniel

Post Graduate (3) 1. Bannister’s – Malanis Benjamin At Banysun. Dog showing substance, visibly compact with no exaggeration, great outline on entering the ring, head showing a good overall shape, good dark eye, neck strong and set nicely into a well laid powerful shoulder, good depth in chest, well sprung rib carried well back, deep in loin, rear quarters nicely muscled in 1st and 2nd thigh on good bend of stifle, tail set low and carried nicely level with back on the move, which was sound and free moving with that slight roll, coat in a great condition. BOB

2. Davies and Margerison’s – Foulby The Dark Knight At Kandrelli. Very close with 1st, lot to like from this dog too, great on the stack giving a lovely outline, head correct and with a nice eye, good length to ears set low, neck strong and long, front good with well boned forelegs, depth to chest good and with a correct shape, rear strong with well bent stifle, coat dense and with a good covering also a nice natural oily feel, took a while him to settle on the move just wasn’t quit with it which was a shame, would have been a strong contender for the win.
