NORFOLK AND NORWICH CANINE SOCIETY PREMIER OPEN SHOW
Wednesday 28th August 2024
My thanks to Jacky Cutler and the other Officers and Committee members for my invitation to come down from Scotland to judge a sizeable number of the Gundog breeds at this lovely Premier Open Show. I was made to feel most welcome and also my grateful thanks to the stewards who worked efficiently to help me get through my breeds on a very hot day. Thanks also to the exhibitors who had a long day although with my able steward’s assistance we managed to ensure all breeds were completed and able to compete in the Group. It was appreciated that so many exhibitors took the time to come and chat with me after the breed judging was completed whilst the Group was underway. There were no moans/no groans, just friendly conversations about lovely dogs – thank you all.

Clumber Spaniel
A smallish entry I thought for the breed today although granted it was a mid-week show; however the breed was not lacking in quality, so my thanks to the exhibitors for both supporting the show and for affording me the opportunity to look over your entries. I hope the wider Clumber community can try to continue to support these premier open shows otherwise I feel we risk losing more breed classes. No evidence to-day of any ‘rolling clumber gaits’ – thank goodness , as its not been included in the breed standard for 14 odd years !
