West of England Collie Society Sub group open show, Sunday, 1st September 2024 I would like to take the opportunity to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge the special classes at their recent open show in the lovely welcoming surroundings of Somerset A thank you to my stewards, and the committee for their hospitality on the day. Was a pleasure to see the dogs and exhibitors immaculately turned-out, I had a good quality entry for my first time judging Smooth Collies. Thank you all for your time and accepting my decisions so gracefully. Class A Special Award Puppy 1st Cole & Fort, Mrs D A & Miss J M, Shulune Imperial Rum Punch A 10 month old bitch, tri colour with good clean definitions in colours, good proportion of head and skull, dark eyes giving a nice, sweet expression, ears set well and alert, maturing fore and rear quarters, moving well around the ring 2nd Lusty, Miss A, Blamorder Dare to Dream A 11 month old bitch, nice, blunted wedge head, eyes dark and well set, front and rear angulations good and moved well around the ring could see these two swapping places regularly as both good well made smooth collies 3rd Rundle, Mr J, Shulune Imperial Bonny Blu Class B Special Award Post Graduate 1st Riva, Miss K, Manordeifi Rock On A 4 year old nicely matured dog, good head proportions, nice parallel straight line with slight stop, kept a good topline and sound on moving around ring coat of good colour and holding a harsh topcoat texture 2nd Rodgers, Miss C, Blamorder Mischief Maker with Jerdoni A 22 month old dog with correct pleasing sable colouring, alert ears and dark eyes giving an impression of a sweet expression, had good drive from rear on the move. Well handled 3rd Lusty, Miss A, Blamorder Dare To Dream Res Moores, Miss,D J, Blamorder High Hopes for Manordeifi VHC Carpenter, Mr j & Mrs H, Bedlamridge Misty Morning Class C Special Award Open 1st Beeney, Mrs S M, Coneypark Golden Brown At just over 5 years old this bitch is in great condition, good ear set, tipped forward correctly, good dark eyes set well on head, topline held well. Fore and hind quarters angulation well balanced giving the good movement around the ring 2nd Seager, Mrs E & Mr L, Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack JW A 22 month old dog, slightly larger than 1st but all in proportion, and showing a strong masculine outline that I like to see in a dog, lovely colour of coat, a little lively on stack, well balanced in fore and rear quarters making movement effortlessly around the ring 3rd Wensley, Mr M & Mrs R, CH Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW Res Lusty, Miss A, Blamorder CH Blamorder The Hustler VHC Carpenter, Mr J & Mrs H, Plaisance Eva La Belle
