Breed: Open Show

Coventry (Foleshill) Canine Association

Sunday 3rd November 2024

I would like to extend my thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at your open show.

I would also like to express my appreciation to my stewards for their assistance on the day.

It was a pleasure to judge a wonderful entry of Bedlington Terriers and Jack Russell Terrier at this well-organized event.

Thank you all for your entries and for the good nature shown in accepting my decisions on the day.

Bedlington Terriers

Class 64 Puppy (2 entries / 1 absent)

1st Offer, Mrs A, Woolytop the Phezantplukka

An 8 month old dog, entered the ring gracefully and showing maturity over his age, well shaped narrow skull, small dark eye, nice moderate sized ears and good large teeth. Pads all sound. Developing depth of chest and body flexible, moved in the normal Bedlington way around the ring keeping a clean silhouette on move. Great to see him doing so well in group and BPiS

Awarded RBoB and BPiB

2nd Baldwin, Ms S E & Mr M D, Woolytop Here I Am

The sister to the 1st placed dog, not as confident as her brother, well made and keeping the feminine look about her, moved around the ring well. Pads all sound. Can see these two battling each other in the puppy classes

Class 65 Post Graduate (3 entries / 2 absent)

1st Baldwin, Ms S E & Mr M D, Woolytop What’s It All About

A 4 year old mature feminine bitch, full of confidence in the ring. A good profile of narrow skull, well set low ears with a glint in her eyes. Pads all sound. Would have liked the coat to be a little thicker, moved well in the ring, handled to perfection to get the most out of her.

Class 66 Open (4 entries / 2 absent)

1st Offer, Mrs A, CH Woolytop The Viking

A 5 year old dog in good condition, another with good narrow skull, dark eyes and low hanging ears to cheek. Nice long neck to shoulders, forequarters with good slope of shoulder, hindquarters nicely muscled, pads all sound. Moved light and springy while having the mincing down to a fine art. Great to see doing so well in the group.

Awarded BoB

2nd Baldwin, Ms S E & Mr M D, Woolytop Leading Lady

The sister of the 1st place dog, and similar in appearance and attitude. Good narrow skull, with dark eyes. Nice long neck to shoulders, forequarters with good slope of shoulder, hindquarters nicely muscled, pads all sound. Moved well just missing out on 1st place today to her brother.

Jack Russell Terriers

The dogs displayed the exemplification of the breed standard, making my first experience judging this breed both challenging and enjoyable.

Class 76 Puppy (2 entries / 1 absent)

1st Witmond, Miss A, Tiltser Tesserete

A nearly 8 month old bitch lovely looking with great character. A feminine head, with a keen expression. Good proportions in body and a nice level back. Covered the ring well keeping a steady topline
