Gundogs
Thank you to all exhibitors for a quality entry, my very able stewards Rachel Cumberland and Kay Constantine for their cheerful help and to the hard-working club committee for a well-run show.
Weimaraners: P 3(1a) - Two litter sisters only six months both very promising and enjoying being in the ring1 Balmers’ Trapaleba Carrera Preferred her length of body at this stage BP
2 Balmers’ Trapaleba Dior - neat pup, less mature but will challenge her sister as she grows on. PG 1 - 1 Robsons’ Kalimor Washington at Robricci Young dog with classic head, reachy neck and level topline, just needs to settle on the move. O 3 (1a) - 1 Balmers’ Mabinka Omega - Mature lady, good spring of rib and well set shoulders, liked her femininity and style on the move BOB 2 Robsons’ Kalimor Nancy at Robricci JW Pleasing outline, but giving her handler a hard time on the move.
American Cockers: PG 2 - 1 Morris & Jefferson’s Mycalleys Koko Only 12 months but she moved like she owned the ring, beautiful dark coat, correct topline, pretty head. BOB 2 Morris’ Mycalleys Sirocco Litter brother to 1, similar attributes just not as positive on the move O 2 - 1 Morris’ Mycalleys China Doll Preferred her head to 2, sloping topline, well balanced all through.
2 Morris’ Churchill Moser Dog at Mycalleys (Imp) Impressive coat well presented. good bone and substance.
Hungarian Vizslas PG 2 (1a) - 1 Malin’s Kenzduo Deeply Dallas Young upstanding dog, covering ground well. Alert and in good fettle BOB
Cockers P 1 -1 Peterson’s Dromacre Skyfall Appealing eight-month-old blue roan dog, together for age and happy on the move. Dark eye, pleasing outline. BP PG 2 -1 Peterson’s Claramand Blu Delight for Dromacre three-year-old blue roan lady with gentle expression, good shoulders and spring of rib, typical bustling cocker on the move. BOB and G2 2 Bacon’s Timbric Doris Day JW preferred femininity of one but happy girl with steady movement and everything in the right place. O 2 1 Peterson’s Ir Sh/Ch Cassom Moonbeam JW outstanding seven-year-old , a real showgirl, close up for BOB with ever-wagging tail, moved like a youngster, lovely outline. BGV and BVIS well done. 2 Palmer’s Cassom Sun Dreaming over Colmeir preferred movement of one but attractive orange roan with balanced head and pleasing expression.
Clumbers O 2 - 1 Nesbitts’ Creeaark Austin Healey from Chabrouille have never seen a clumber move in the ring with the energy and power as this dog did to win G1 after winning BOB. Brought a lump to my throat. Well angulated fore and aft, just right for bone and weight.n Strong head with enough skull and muzzle and silky white coat Outstanding dog. 2 Pickering’s Wymeswold Verdejo at Greencourt (imp NLD) this girl is a good shape stacked, with appealing head but unfortunately would not lift her head on the move.
Welsh Springers P 2 - 1 Chandler’s Santallina Chance Affair for Chanangel nine-month-old girl more mature than 2, steady on move when taken at slower pace Soft dark eye and feminine head. BP 2 Chandler’s Chanangel Royal Ascot Only eight months, needs time, not as well balanced as one. O 1 - 1 Chandler’s Chanangel Jo Sugden young dog, full of himself, long muscular neck, correct head and good expression, good topline and short coupled. BOB
Labradors Some in these classes were carrying too much weight for me so paid the penalty P 1 - 1 Greenwood’s Edenwood Wildcat nine-month-old girl with perpetually wagging tail, tight throat, deep chest and well ribbed with good hindquarters resulting in driving movement. Kind expression and good head. BP. PG 6 (1a) - 1 Smith’s Hurstemeon Hey Look Its Me at Flyenpyg JW Liked this well-muscled fit dog , lovely on the stack, not overdone , good tail set and top line. 2 Roberts’ Stormrose Daisy Hill attractive dark eye and pigment, in good coat, moved well . 3
Scrimgeour’s Willow. O 4 - 1 Scrimgeour’s Velvetine Paisley Park Well made black bitch looked a picture free-standing and moved with lashing otter tail. Just right for weight, nothing overdone, looked fit for purpose. BOB and G3. 2 Roberts’ Stormrose Sweet Wishes Beautiful head on this bitch and lovely on the move but preferred balance of 1. 3 Smith’s Flyenpyg Porky Pig JW OSW
English Setters PG & O 1 -1 Taylor’s Kamietter Kokoa Sympathetically handled, three-year old blue belton mature dog, Kind eye, balanced well chiselled head, moved well. BOB
Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers PG 3 1 Wardrope’s Danehaven Nouvel Two-year-old lady, jaunty and active on the move, correct size and white tip on tail to attract the ducks! 2 Roffey’s Camusmor Ca Canny with Canuck Heavier built than 1 with deep chest and full coat. 3 Beading’s Danehaven Savalette. O 1 Wardrope’s Goldstar Strutting Her Daisy Dukes Forgave lack of coat for balance and construction - looked like she could run all day. Wedge-shaped head with alert expression. BOB
GSPs PG 2 (1a) - 1 Greenwood’s Brevathos Tanna Two-year-old girl, still immature and needs to drop in brisket. elegant and well-muscled, pleasing head. O 3 - 1 Cox’s Cushatlaw Athena JW BOB Well sprung ribs, short back, good sweep of stifle to well let down hocks. Moved well and nothing overdone. 2 Main’s Keigame Quintessence at Benrae preferred balance of one but steady, purposeful mover, and pleasing head. 3 B Tanna.
Italian Spinone P 1 - 1 Whittingham & Wright’s Rubino Spinone del Mucrone with Riccini (Imp Ita) BP & PG2 Nine month old dog well-developed for his age, strong and purposeful trot on the move which won him PG2. Correct body and head proportions. O 1 - 1 Whittingham & Wright’s Diggmere Sofia Cortona del Riccini BOB Well-built 19-month bitch with good spring of rib, well set shoulders , good turn of stifle and correct head. Moved with steady strong gait.
Springer Spaniels P 1 1 Chandler’s Elazlan Coronation Day 10 month old girl BP & PG3 Well schooled, clean flowing outline and moved with easy swinging stride. J, O & PG 2 (1a) - 1 Calverts’ Calvdale Dramatic Effect 14 month old girl , couldn’t fault construction,, strong in bone but not course, extrovert on the move for young handler BOB.
Golden Retrievers P 3 - 1 Williams’ Lamhryn Star of the Sea JW Mature for her ten months, caught my eye on the move, head up, using tail, nothing overdone, loved her dark eye and pigment, good spring of rib but not too heavy. Quality pup. BP & PG1 2 Johnsons’ Moloko Ow Do Another grand puppy, heavier than one but pretty head, good on the move, neat feet, well proportioned. 3 Towers & Henderson’s Baricia Bella Divino. PG 5 (1a) - 1 Rodgers’ Ambersun Passione of Odarla JW Carries her tail a bit high but showed driving, positive movement. Muscular neck, strong hindquarters, beautiful coat. 2 Sloan’s Palmona’s Giltterball earned her place in this good class with sound movement, gentle melting expression, well handled. 3 Bells’ Hoaaloha Ahyoka. L 3 (1a) - 1 Maddison’s Jaymardy Sweet Caroline JW Not the most enthusiastic on the move today but forgave that for overall quality - not too heavy on shoulder, sweet face and expression, short coupled and balanced in body, strong hocks. BOB 2 Gerhold’s Vivat Vivaldi JW (imp Ukraine) Heavier than 1, kind expression., well presented. O 4 (2a) - 1 Bells’ Hoaaloha Moana JW Sound, honest lady, looked well on the move, correct head, good reach of neck and shoulders, well muscled 2 Gerhold’s Navilis Nouveau Venu JW (Imp) Preferred body shape of 1 but happy boy, enjoying being in the ring, well coated with strong topline.
AVNSC Gundog P 2 (1a) - 1 Glaysher’s Rainethyme Ever So Special 10month old Spanish Water Dog with cuteness overload, well constructed little lady, so balanced for her age and moved like a trooper BP & PG4 PG 1 - 1 Wood’s Pabiagas Sergio Sinduda Spanish Water Dog, good front, course, curly coat with attractive markings, .powerful on the move. BAVNSC O 1 - 1 Wood’s Chanderhill Eagle Eye Sinduda Spanish Water Dog just been clipped but still had curls, and nothing to hide, well muscled, strong and good reach and drive on the move.
Group 1 Clumber 2 Cocker 3 Labrador 4 Radcliffe’s Sh Ch Sniperay Edge of Glory JW Elegant o/w lady I have done well for previously but just not quite on top form today. But beautiful series of curves on the stack and so well balanced with classic pointer head.

AV Gundog Puppy 9 (6a) 1 Johnson’s Molokai Ow Do 2 Anderson-Rowell’s Wilchrimane Silent Sonnet at Daledancer b/w pointer girl, beautiful type, pretty, well-balanced head, only nine months and just needs time to grow on. Confident on the move. 3 Balmers’ Trapaleba Dior.
