Golden Retrievers

Thankyou to the committee for inviting me to judge at your friendly and well run show and to my steward for ensuring my classes ran smoothly. Thanks also to everyone who entered your immaculately presented dogs and bitches all displaying the confident and happy temperament the breed is known for.

Puppy 7 (3,A)

1. Wheeldon & Hurry’s Dewmist Dolce Vita with Catnnels What a darling pale cream beautifully presented baby puppy of just 6 months enjoying her first show and taking everything in her stride. She is so balanced throughout for one so young. She has a gorgeous feminine head with dark eyes and super pigment. A lovely straight front with good width to chest. Her neck flows onto well laidback shoulders and a level topline. Her angulations fore and aft are symmetrical with good turn of stifles and straight hocks. She moved with confidence holding her shape. ‘A very neat and pretty package’. BP

2. Webb & Smith Waterbabies a Sea of Faces to Hectson Another cracking quality cream dog puppy of 9 months who has a big frame to fill making him a little loose on the move as yet compared to 1. My notes say ‘What a lovely gentle male head and kind expression’ He has a good reach of neck onto a level topline and tailset. His front is straight and he is well off for bone. He has a deep chest, well sprung ribs and is short coupled. Good width of thigh. Just needs to tighten up his hind movement as he matures.

Junior 8 (4,A)

1. Leonard’s Amberson Summersault Back to Wynrita This beautiful pale cream girl of 13 months caught my eye for her well balanced construction. She oozes class from her jet black nose to the tip of her tail. She has a lovely feminine head of correct proportions. Her front is straight and she is well off for bone. She has good length of upper arm with nice depth and width of chest with tightly fitting elbows. Her ribs are well sprung and she is short coupled. Her super reach of neck flows onto her well laidback shoulders. Her symmetrical angulations are so pleasing on the eye as she moved with bags of reach and drive holding her frame.

2. Lists Haydengold Moment in Time A quality mid gold girl of 15 months presented in lovely wavy coat and full featherings. She has a gentle feminine head with kind dark eyes and good pigmentation. She is very well balanced throughout with a lovely reach of neck, well laid back shoulders and dead level topline and tail set. Her fore and aft angulations are equal with good turn of stifle. She flowed around the ring holding her shape beautifully.

Post Graduate 13 (6,A)

1. Leonard’s Amberson Summersault Back to Wynrita 1 in Junior.

2. Taggart’s Altindan User Friendly JW A beautiful pale gold young lady of 18 months. She has a lovely feminine head of correct proportions and dark kind eyes clearly adoring her handler. Her front is straight with good bone and she has neat feet. She has a lovely reach of neck which flows onto well laidback shoulders and good length of upper arm. Her elbows tuck neatly into her chest and she has well sprung ribs. She presents a very neat symmetrically balanced outline with everything in its right place holding her level topline and tailset as she moved out with reach and drive at one with her handler.

Limit 6 (3,A)

1. Keightley’s Richana Rocket Man JW Loved this pale cream young dog who was clearly enjoying himself and at times giving his handler a hard time such was his enthusiasm and Joie de Vivre. He was presented in full coat and excellent hard muscular condition which enhanced his balanced frame. He has a well chiselled masculine head with a soft expression, dark eyes and good pigment. His front is straight and he is well off for bone with good width to his deep chest and nice tightly tucked in elbows. Good spring of rib and short coupled. He has a dead level topline, very well muscled width of thighs and good turn of stifle with well let down hocks. All used with advantage to power round the ring with lovely easy strides. If I were being picky I’d say don’t stand behind a girly as at times your tail popped up on the move naughty boy! BOB

2. Fleet & Webb’s Waterbabies Sonic Boom to Eastbury and Hecston A quality young dog who was very close up to 1 for his lovely well balanced frame. Presented in gorgeous pale cream gleaming coat and hard muscular condition. He has such an appealing gentle head and expression with dark eyes. His front is straight with good bone and nice neat feet. He has a super reach of neck onto correct lay back of shoulders and return of upper arm. His topline and tailset are level. He is deep in chest which is of good width with well sprung ribs. His fore and aft angulations are equal with strong straight hocks. Moved with reach and drive holding his lovely frame.

Open 6 (3,A)

1. Layland’s Applecote Love in Disguise JW A beautiful mid gold young girl presented in tip top coat and condition who caught my eye in this class for her dead level topline which she held perfectly on the first run around. She has such a gentle, sweet feminine head with the darkest of eyes and pigment. A lovely reach of neck which flowed onto her well laidback shoulders. She has a straight front and is well off for bone. Her symmetrical angulations create a balanced frame so pleasing on the eye both standing and as she moved with such a lovely free flowing action.

2. Stanfield’s Roxali Little Queenie Another lovely girl smaller framed than 1. Her beautifully presented light gold coat was in full bloom. She has such a feminine gentle head of correct proportions and a well boned straight front and tight feet. Good reach of neck onto her well muscled shoulders. Her chest is deep with elbows tucked neatly in. She has strong rear quarters with a good turn of stifle and straight hocks. Just preferred the topline of 1 on the move.
