Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Woolwich and Bexley and District Canine Association Open Show

1st December 2024

Judge: Faye Gardner

Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Woolwich and Bexley and District Canine Association for the privilege of judging the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Labrador Retriever classes. I am immensely grateful to my stewards for their assistance, which ensured the smooth running of the day.

It was a joy to assess two wonderful breeds that I am deeply passionate about. I was pleased to see a variety of quality entries, and I appreciate exhibitors for presenting their dogs in such good condition and allowing me the opportunity to evaluate them in a sporting and respectful manner.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Post Graduate 4 (2)

1st: Cwmhaf Bring Me Sunshine

Black Brindle Bitch. I’ve had the pleasure of judging this bitch before, and once again, she did not disappoint. On the previous occasion, I awarded her Best of Breed, and today she reaffirmed my high opinion of her.

She has a pretty, feminine head with a distinct stop and dark, round eyes that remained fixed on me throughout the assessment. Her neat rose ears frame her face beautifully, enhancing her lovely expression. Lips are tight and clean, with a complete scissor bite.

She stands on straight, well-boned legs, showing no weakness at the pasterns. She has a good spring of rib and is muscular, well-defined, and presented in excellent fit condition. Moved and handled well, maintaining a firm topline throughout.

Overall, a very balanced and well-conditioned bitch. I’m pleased to reward her Best of Breed once again. Thank you for bringing her and presenting her so well.

2nd: Matrixstaff Moon Dancer at Tidestaff

Black Brindle Bitch. A very pretty and feminine girl with a distinct stop and dark, round eyes. Her neat ears frame her attractive face, giving her an alert and lovely expression. Correct scissor bite.

She has sufficient depth of chest, good rib development, and pleasing muscle tone. Moved well, maintaining her topline and standing four-square. Neat, well-shaped feet with short nails. Presented in excellent condition.

It was lovely to see her growing in confidence and coming on so nicely—a credit to her handler. I just preferred the overall balance and conformation of the first-place winner today. Pleased to award her Reserve Best of Breed. Thank you for bringing her.

Open 2 (1)

1st: On The Hill Two at Tidestaff

Six-year-old Brindle Bitch. She presents a lovely, clean head with a distinct stop, dark round eyes, and neat ears that frame her face beautifully, contributing to a soft and pleasing expression. Correct scissor bite with clean, tight lips.

Her legs are straight and well-boned, with sufficient depth of chest and good rib development. She displays a clean and balanced outline, standing four-square. Moved and handled well, showing excellent muscle tone and overall condition.

Thank you for bringing her and presenting her in such fine form.
