Eastbourne & District Canine Society Premier Open Show on Sunday 23rd June 2024

I was very happy to be able to step in as a replacement to judge at this show and extend my gratitude to the committee for the very kind invitation; also to my very competent steward, Linda, for keeping everything running smoothly. I found the committee most welcoming and salute their hard work in presenting such a well run show. I also give my thanks to the exhibitors for bringing their lovely dogs under me, in very warm weather, and accepting my decisions so sportingly.

Hungarian Vizsla

Junior 2,0

1st Gregory’s Sevensden Autumnal Gold. 9 month bitch, with everything going for her. Feminine head, with correct ears, slight median line and stop. Moderately long, arched neck flowing into well angled shoulders over straight forelegs and upright pasterns finished with good feet. Level topline, well sprung ribs, correct drop in brisket and slight tuck up. Good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Best mover in this class. BP.

2nd Challis’s Vizslanya Domenkos. Very raw 7 mth male. Everything is in the right place; this pup just needs time to mature. Darker than 1, and not quite the length. Attractive head with kind eye, correct ears, mouth. Desired prominent breastbone, good front assembly, level topline, good ribs.

1st Challis’ Vizslanya Csibe JW. This 3 yo bitch has the most noble of heads furnished with desired stop and median line, good ears and mouth, moderately long and arched neck into correct shoulders. Strong topline, deep chest and well sprung ribcage. Good bend of stifle, well developed second thigh and good feet. Smooth ground covering movement. BOB.

2nd. Wallington’s Sh Ch Int/Multi Ch Nicael Blue Diamond Among Ohanava. Another well made bitch with a beautiful head, this time 7 years old and belying her age. Paler than 1, and ever so slightly longer cast. She has a kind eye, correct moderate stop and median line, well set ears, desired squared muzzle. Strong, muscular neck flowing into well laid shoulders and a level topline. Good angles fore and aft, tidy feet. Moved well. RBOB.

1st Stephenson’s Made Chianti For Timtaurn. 11mth brown roan bitch presenting desired square outline. Kind face, correct eye, mouth, ears & moderately broad skull flatter at the occiput. Strong neck, into well laid shoulders and back Correct narrow front, well sprung ribs, short firm loin and gently sloping croup. Correct woolly coat. Moved well, enjoying her day. BOB & BP.

1st Jefferies Rivertone Aurora Over Silbermeer. Sweet 12mth bitch of a nice pale silver grey colour. Intelligent expression, correct length of ear and fold, good mouth, slight median line. Moderately long neck into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest with brisket meeting elbows, straight forelegs. Well sprung ribs, short loin, and slightly sloping croup. Good angles fore and aft. A little unsettled on the move initially but proved herself once she got into the swing of it. BOB.

1st Woods Stormdancer Plum Pudding. 2 yo bitch giving her handler a hard time today. Pleasant head, good eyes, ears, mouth. Moderately long, clean neck. Plenty of heart room, well sprung ribs, and short, firm loin. Good bend of stifle. Unfortunately, she insisted on pacing around the ring.

1st Jefferies Silbermeer Annie Get ya Gun. 2 yo bitch of good coat colour. Kind expression though would prefer darker pigmentation. Correct mouth, deep flews, desired median line, good length of ear. Moderately long neck, good shoulders, deep chest with plenty of room, straight forelegs. Well sprung ribs, level topline, short loin, well angulated rear quarters. Moved ok once settled. RBOB.
