Many thanks to the officers and committee of the Coventry and District Gundog Society for the invitation to just that there show. Thank you to my stewards who helped keep everything running smoothly and the exhibitors for their sportsmanship and to my fellow judges for a lovely line up dogs in both Best in Show and Best puppy in Show.
COCKER SPANIELS
Puppy Dog or Bitch (18,2)
1st Williams’ WILMERELLA HIGHLANDER
11 month old blue roan male with beautiful head and expression. Good reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good bone and neat feet. Strong level topline with short coupled and moderate width of stifle. Moved well with correct tail set and carriage. Presented in excellent coat and condition.
2nd Glendinning’s PLAIGLEN MOJITO
Masculine dog with a good clean muscular reach of neck. Excellent bone and feet. Level topline, slightly longer cast than the winner but overall very balanced angles both front and back. Good width of stifle, correct tail set and carriage, covered the ground with ease.
Junior Dog or Bitch (9,1,2 w/d)
1st Williams’ WILMERELLA MEMPHIS BELLE
Litter sister to the puppy class winner and I am sure they both have a very bright future. Very pretty feminine head and expression. Correct body proportions, excellent reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Tight elbows, good bone and neat feet.. Short coupled with well sprung ribs for her age and good width of stifle. Correct top line and tail set carried well on the move, where she displayed a typical cocker temperament. Presented in excellent coat and condition. BP, BOB, Res BPIS.
2nd Stokes-Harrell’s VILLASPANIOL PIXIES FOR CHEZZA’S
Another pretty girl just not the overall balance of the winner. Good bone and neat feet, level top line with correct tail set. Good with of stifle. Presented in good coat and condition. Moved soundly.

1st West’s SHEIGRA SUPER SECRET JW
Feminine head and expression. Good reach of neck with well angulated from and good depth of chest. Level topline with correct tail set and short coupled. Good width of stifle, in good coat, won this class on movement where she covered the ground with ease.
2nd Newman’s JAMESFIELD SUNRISE
Not just as feminine in head as the winner but overall presented a very balanced picture. Correct body proportions with good bone and neat feet. Balanced angles front and back. Level top line although slightly longer in couplings. Moved ok.
Open Dog or Bitch (7,6)
1st Collier’s PEPPERBOX BACK IN TIME RL 1EX
Feminine head and expression. Slightly heavy over shoulders but very balanced overall. Well angulated front and moderated width of stifle at rear. Level top line with correct tail set, good spring of rib but would prefer a little less weight. Short coupled. Covered the ground with ease showing typical cocker temperament. Res BOB.

1st Boden’s SUELYNDA BOOM BANG A BANG
Outstanding 10 month old puppy. Masculine head and expression, exceptionally balanced for his age. Beautiful front angulation, good bone and neat feet. Good depth of chest with tight elbows. Correct top line held on the move. Good width of stifle. Moved out soundly with drive from the rear. Res BOB, BP.
2nd Shipsides’ TWEEDSMUIR MIDSUMMER DREAM
Just 6 months old, very pretty head and expression. Good bone and neat feet. Balanced angles both front and back. Correct top line held on the move. Just needs time to settle.

1st Monaghan’s KENSESQUI NICE AT TWEEDSMUIR
Masculine dog but not overdone. Well angulated front with a good depth of chest. Good bone and neat feet. Strong top line held on the move, good width of stifle, covered ground well.
2nd Henderson’s DELSAUX WALKING ON THE MOON
Masculine dog with a soft expression. Shorter in neck than winner, good depth of chest with good bone. Good width of stifle. Would prefer shorter couplings, gave handler a hard time on the move and was slight proud of his tail.

1st Guy’s SUELYNDA KITH AND KIN AMONG JAHANGHIR
Won this class for his overall balance and movement, an unfortunate incident meant he had to withdraw from any further competition.
2nd Wareham’s PRESTIJ NACHII MANDARIN SHIK (IMP RUS)
Masculine dog, straight front with a good depth of chest. Level top line held on the move with correct tail carriage. Good width of stifle, moved ok.

1st Whitehouse’s SH CH MAURSETT MALLACHIE AT MOLVONIA
Masculine dog but with a soft expression. Well placed shoulders with good return of upper arm. Good bone and neat feet with tight elbows. Good depth of chest, strong level top line which never faltered on the move. Good width of stifle, presented in excellent coat and hard condition which he used to his advantage on the move. BOB.
2nd Burge’s GRACEDIEU BROOKLYN BRIDGE
Feminine girl with pretty head and expression. Balanced overall. Good bone and neat feet. Good depth of chest and well sprung rib. Level top line and good width of stifle. Slightly unsure of the floor today which made assessment of movement difficult.

Irish Water Spaniel. Pretty head and expression, good depth of chest with tight elbows and good spring of rib. Level top line and short coupled. Good width of stifle, presented in excellent condition which she used to her advantage on the move. BAVNSC.
2nd Douglas’ DAFFYDOWN DOLLY
Irish Water Spaniel. Feminine head and expression. Good depth of chest and good bone. Just not the font angulation of the class winner. Level top line and moderate width of stifle. Unsure of the floor resulting in a lack of confidence on the move.

Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer. Pretty head and expression. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders. Balanced angles front and back. Moved true and sound for her age, presented in good condition. BPAVI.
2nd Stilgoe & Fox’s TIESGOL MORGANA
Portuguese Pointer. Feminine head with correct proportions. Balanced angles front and back, good depth of chest and breastbone. Correct top line. Not as confident as winner on the move.

Masculine head and expression with correct head planes. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest, good bone although down on pasterns. Good width of stifle, well muscled, covered the ground with ease although tail carriage slightly high on the move. BAVI.

1st Watkin’s LAKEWINDS BENCHMARK (IMP AUS)
Pointer. Masculine head with typical pointer head. Balanced angles both front and back, maintaining the curves and raciness of the breed. Good depth of chest for his age with tight elbows. Good spring of rib with correct top line. Well muscled and just his athleticism on the move to his advantage to win this class.
2nd Lane & Lane-Ridyard’s KULAWAND CALLISTO
Flat Coated Retriever. Masculine head and expression but not over done in any way. Excellent dark eye and pigment. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good bone and neat feet, good width of stifle, presented in good coat and condition, unfortunately had just lost some of his sparkle at the end of a long day.

Golden Retriever. Masculine dog but maintaining a soft head and expression. Well placed shoulders and good depth of chest. Good bone would prefer tighter pasterns. Level top line and correct tail set. Moderate width of stifle. Presented in good coat and condition, covered the ground with ease.
2nd Keaney’s FLINTHILL HOT MAIL
Pointer. Masculine head with good dark eye and pigment. Good reach of neck and good depth of chest. Balanced angles front and back. Well muscled. Moved straight and true when settled.

WSS. Masculine dog presented in excellent coat and condition. Good bone and neat feet. Good depth of chest with balanced angles front and back. Well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Level top line held on the moved where he moved soundly with reach and drive.
2nd Booth’s LUNDGARTH EVEREST JW
Pointer. Feminine head and expression. Good reach of neck with well angulated front and good fore chest. Good depth of chest with tight elbows. Balanced rear angles with correct top line. Would have preferred more confidence on the move but covered the ground well when settled.

Labrador. Pretty head and expression with lovely pigment. Well placed shoulders with good return of upper arm. Good depth of chest and neat cat like feet. Level top line held on the move. Moderate width of stifle, well muscled and move true and sound to win this class.
2nd Taylor & Tenn’s LADY SUE COME TOGETHER AT STRETTONHILL (IMP HRV)
Golden Retriever. Masculine dog with a good reach of neck. Well angulated front with a good depth of chest. Level top line with a moderate width of stifle. Presented in good coat and condition. Covered the ground with ease and well handled.

Labrador. Feminine head and expression and very workmanlike throughout. Balanced angles front and back. Good spring of rib and moderate width of stifle. Well muscles which she used to her advantage on the move which won her this class.
2nd Thomas’ CHARTAN MAPLE MAYHEM
Gordon Setter. Pretty head and expression. Good reach of neck and depth of chest. Balanced angles both front and back with a level top line. Moved ok.

1st Corbett’s SH CH TRIMERE TIME FLYS
English Spring Spaniel. Beautiful head and expression and caught my eye as she entered the ring. Lovely reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Good width of stifle, level topline and correct tail set and carriage. Presented in excellent coat and hard condition which allowed her to effortlessly cover the ground.
2nd Adams’ CAROFEL WINGS OF HOPE JW WW23 SWIS JCH
Pointer. Masculine dog with correct head planes and lovely pigment. Good reach of neck and well placed shoulders and good depth of chest. Good bone and straight front. Correct top line held on the move with well muscled rear. Covered the ground with ease.
3rd Parsons’ QUENSHA THINKING OUT LOUD AT BRANSETT JW
Irish Setter. Masculine head but not overdone in any way. Lovely dark eye and pigment. Well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good depth of chest and short coupled. Good with of stifle, well muscled, strong hocks, moved out with reach and drive.
4th Dyer & Oddie’s SHARNPHILLY ANNIE MAC
Weimaraner. Still just a puppy but could not be denied a placing in the BIS line up. Beautiful feminine head and expression. Good reach of neck flowing into correct shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good bone and neat feet. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. In excellent muscular condition which she uses so well for her age on the move. Everything in the right place and one I will watch with interest.
