Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge, what a great show and hosts. Thank you to all the exhibitors that entered, and for the patience of the best of breed winners for waiting until we could get a bigger ring!

Afghan Hound

Junior (1, 0)

1st Hughes’ Istani Bob Dylan At Finkime. 13 month old male. Nice head, good reach of neck and lay of shoulder. Well angulated in rear quarters. Excelled in drive from the rear but would prefer more reach in front. Topline could be better on the stack.

1st Hudson’s El Roalito Little Silver Feather. Smaller feminine head. Decent reach of neck, would prefer better lay of shoulder. Not overly angulated, balanced for and rear quarters. Moves with balanced reach and drive. BOB.

Basenji

Junior (3,0)

1st Knowles’ Sarawana Dragon’s Conquest Close decision between these first two. Lovely head shape although she was lacking a little in wrinkle, good reach of neck, preferred her shoulder placement, good topline and tuck up, balanced rear and nice feet, lovely side gait preferred 1’s movement fore and aft

2nd Knowles’ Sarawana Dragonfire Rising. Nice head with wrinkle, a touch more forward in shoulder placement. Lovely topline and tuck up. More angulation in rear quarters to one and she did drive better but not as clean fore and aft.

3rd Stratton’s Justartee This Is Me

1st Knowles’ Sarawana Dragonfire Rising.

2nd Stratton’s Aheme Cinnamon Swirl For Justartee. Slightly longer head, good wrinkle, decent reach of neck and shoulder angulation. Decent topline and balanced rear. Side gait movement nice but not as true fore and aft.

Very close class, two very lovely girls that I’m sure could switch places often.

1st Hardy & Hallam’s Tokaji Memphis Belle. Nice head and reach of neck, good lay of shoulder and upper arm. Balanced rear quarters. Good topline at all times, good tuck up and rear shelf. Excelled in movement with reach and drive to power her around the ring. BOB & G4

2nd Knowles’ Ch Bushwacker Dragon Tattoo At Sarawana JW. Preferred her head, good reach of neck and shoulder placement. Good topline and tuck up. Lovely on the move.

Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand)

1st Bailey & Yates’ Wilmit Mirabelle For Boneveon. Eye catching side profile. Nice head, lovely reach of neck, good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm, lovely firm topline, good length of ribbing, balanced rear angulation. Beautiful movement in profile with lovely reach and drive. BOB

1st Cross’ Whilloer Girl On Fire At Pedara. Sweet petite bitch with a super lovely temperament! Nice head and lovely reach of neck, good lay of shoulder and angle of upper arm with balanced rear. Tended to hunch her topline on the move, more out of excitement as she did settle towards the end of the class to stand with a good topline.

1st Bowers’ Whilloer The Boy Is Mine Avec Saraquele. Nice head, good length of neck and lay of shoulder. Good firm topline. Rear balanced to front angulation. Moved with a light gait. BOB & BP

1st Taylor’s Ch Abbotsoak Carousel JW. Youthful 7 year old. Lovely head and elegant reach of neck with correct arch. Good steep shoulders and long straight legs. Good topline and fall away, correct depth of ribbing. Lovely rear angulation with long second thigh. Moved with such grace and the lovely floating action. A great example of the breed BOB

2nd Taylor’s Yetti (Imp Est). Nice head and decent reach of neck. Good shoulder and topline. Well made rear. Not as good on the move as 1.

Irish Wolfhound

1st Dawson’s Hydebeck Tyme To Love At Graefyn. Lovely head and reach of neck. Good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Good topline and depth of ribbing. Decent rear angulation. Very mature for his age, well bodied. Moved with lovely reach and drive BOB. Unfortunately didn’t seem right on the move when it came to the group.

2nd Jakeman’s Beachaire’s Aodh Fire Of Ravensecret. Nice head and reach of neck. Good lay of shoulder. Not the upper arm of 1. Good topline and ribbing. Well angulated rear. Needs more time than 1.

1st Dawson’s Hydebeck Heart Of Gold At Graefyn. Nice head. Shorter in neck with a steeper shoulder. Good topline and depth of ribbing. Well angulated rear which he used well on the move.

Overall a very lovely class of youngsters.

1st Parsons’ Priorpark’s Par The Course JW. This boy didn’t put a foot wrong. Lovely head and reach of neck, lovely lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Correct topline and ribbing. Excellent rear angulation. Lovely true movement and excelled in reach and drive. Looks beautiful free standing. BOB & G1.

2nd Larkin’s Asharaa’s Hey There Georgy Girl. Another beautiful example of the breed. Femine head, decent reach of neck and return of upper arm. Good topline and ribbing. Beautiful rear angulation. Lovely profile on the move and free standing.

3rd Mills, Mills, Mills & Parsons’ Priorpark Pride and Joy To Nzuri. Nice head. Good shoulder angulation. Lovely topline and ribbing. Well angulated rear. Moved soundly. PG4.

1st Larkin’s Asharaa’s Hey There Georgy Girl.

2nd Thomas-Bassett’s Fiadma’s Stiggens. Maculine head, good neck and lay of shoulder. Lovely topline and ribbing. Excellent rear angulation. Well bodied and in lovely condition. Lovely side gair action.

3rd Hancock’s Stasimelsie Mace

1st Parsons’ Ch Priorpark Poetry In Motion JW. Lovely head and reach of neck. Good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Balanced rear angulation. Moved with lovely reach and drive. Just preferred BOB topline on the move.

2nd Henshall’s Suhuba Dream Star Sulli. Lovely reach of neck and shoulder placement. Good topline and ribbing. Lovely rear angulation. Not the upper arm of 1. Lovely reach and drive.

1st Harrison’s Zafaraniyeh Sahari. Lovely head and elegant reach of neck. Decent lay of shoulder. Well angulated rear quarters. Tended to lose topline a little.

1st Harrison’s Khamsin’s Phoenix At Charrioak. Smooth coated with lovely outline. Nice head and reach of neck. Lovely lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Lovely topline and well angulated rear. BOB

2nd Harding & Cowley’s Classicus Florentina At Ashahni. Lovely head and reach of neck. Good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. A little longer in body and didn’t keep topline. Well amgulated rear. Moved well.

AVNSC Hound

Puppy (2,1)

1st Dawson’s Stubbylee At Sunrise. Borzoi. Nice head, good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Decent topline and well angulated rear. Moved true with good reach and drive for such a young puppy. BP & PG3.

1st Hough’s Secret Agent With Sufayre. Nice head and reach of neck. Decent lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Good rear angulation. Overall lovely balanced outline. Moved with reach and drive BAVNSC.

2nd Sawyer’s Inchydoney Memories Une Virgin Mary Avec Stonelaw (Imp Fra) JW. Very elegant bitch. Lovely head and reach of neck. Decent lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Good topline and ribbing. Lovely rear angulation. Unfortunately got spooked by a dog in the next ring and didn’t settle herself down on the move to assess her properly.

1st Turner’s Chalksville Katerina. Nice head and elegant reach of neck. Good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Correct topline flowing into well angulated rear and well let down hocks. Moves with lovely reach and drive.

2nd Dawson’s Mischran The Sequel For Stubbylee JW. Nice head and neck. Good shoulders. Longer cast body. Good rear angulation. Unfortunately wasn’t cooperating well on the move, he was high stepping to jump up at his handler and not driving behind most of the time but occasionally did fall into a lovely reach and drive action.

HOUND GROUP

1st Parsons’ Priorpark’s Par The Course JW. Lovely to hear he went on to win RBIS

2nd Roberts’ Swansford Padmeadora. Lovely outline and overall balance. Good reach of neck, good forechest. Lovely reach of neck and lay of shoulder with good return of upper arm. Balanced to a well angulated rear. Falls away sometimes in topline on the stack but corrects herself on the move. Lovely reach and drive for such a young girl.

3rd Jones & Jepson’s Eardley Trot On. Lovely balanced outline and angulation. Good reach of neck flowing into well-made shoulders and firm topline. Well angulated rear. Lovely outline on the stack and the move.

2nd Wilkinson’s Citycroft Starfall JW. Nice size. Good head and reach of neck. Good topline. Well angulated rear. Moved with reach and drive.
