South Of England Gundog

Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge at their easter show and thank you to the exhibitors who entered, it was a pleasure to judge your lovely dogs. The ring was of good size and allowed the dogs to get into their stride. It was a bit windy which flapped the tape about a bit but dogs coped with this well.

English Setter

Class 7- Special Yearling (3,0)

1. Wynne-Evan’s Walshaw Let’s Dance For Drovesborough- My find for the day! A lovely young baby who just turned 6 months. She is very well balanced all through, especially for one so young. The prettiest of heads with lovely expressive eyes. Her neck is set on well and she has level topline which flows from her head to her tail. Stands on good legs and feet. A super mover and I could not deny her BOB and BPIB today as I watched her go round in the challenge. I wish her the best of luck for the future.

2. Whittington’s Culverwell Magic Touch- Another young man who showed himself off well. At the moment he doesn’t have the level topline of 1 but he has plenty time on his side to mature. He has a good, well proportioned head which is masculine and has a well defined stop along with a bright eye. His ears are set on low and hang close to his cheeks which frames his lovely head. He has a good deep chest and is well ribbed. He has excellent hind angulation and also moved well.

3. Passey’s Culerwell Touch My Heart

Class 8- Post Graduate (0,0)

Class 9- Open (2,0)

1. Whittington’s Juldeane Line Of Duty (AI)- Good head with neat folded hears. His neck is moderately long and he has a good level topline. Well ribbed which leads into muscular loin. He has strong hindquarters which are very well muscled and he has good hind angulation. Moved well to win this class. RBOB

2. Williams’s Richecca Midwinter- This was a lovely dog stood and I really liked him but sadly he was not playing ball on the move today and was quite erratic in front. He has a well balanced masculine head with a well defined stop and good depth of muzzle. His neck is set on his shoulders well and he has a level topline and his tail is set on well. Good deep chest and he stands on correct, well muscled fore legs.

Large Munsterlander

Class 45- Special Yearling (2,0)

1. Jackson’s Cammuress As You Wish- Puppy of good size and plenty substance. Well proportioned head with her ears set on high which frame her head well. She has a strong neck which joins her body smoothly and she has a good depth of chest with ribs well back. She has a good slightly sloping topline and her tail is set on well. Moved well with a free gait. RBOB and best puppy

2. Gregory’s Cammuress Neon- This was a lovely puppy but unfortunately she was not too keen on showing herself off today. Her handler did a lovely job of giving her a positive experience in the ring and I hope in time she will come to enjoy the show ring as she is a lovely girl.

Class 46- Open (2,0)

1. Gregory’s Jaudas Nice’N’Easy Vom Cammuress- Bitch with feminine head that is a good size for her body. She stands on good legs with sufficient bone and substance. Good depth of chest and short coupled with a slight tuck up. Her wither is slightly higher than tail and her tail is set on well. Moved well.

2. Gregory’s Jaudas Let It Rock- Dog with good overall balance and I preferred his lay of shoulder but unfortunately, he persisted on pacing today which cost him! He has a handsome and masculine head with a good length of neck which is set on well. He also has a good depth of chest and well ribbed with a slightly sloping topline.

Weimaraner

Her forelegs are straight and have good substance. She is the correct length to height ratio. She has a good deep chest with a slight tuck up. In good condition and moved well. Best puppy and pleased to hear she went on to win BPIS4- congratulations!

Good angulation fore and aft allowing her to move well. RBOB

1. Jenning’s Wallaroo Romeo JW- A smart dog who is maturing well. His head is well balanced and he has a lovely big nose. He is well bodied and has a deep chest and his elbows are held close to his body. His hindquarters are strong and well muscled and he has good angulation. Tail set on well.
