I would like to thank the organizers for inviting me to judge at this well-run show and my stewards for running the ring seamlessly. Also thank you to the exhibitors for allowing me to go over their dogs, it was not the biggest entry but it was a quality entry.

Class 13 - Puppy – (0)

Class 14 - Junior – (1,1)

Class 15 – Graduate (5,2)

1. Carter’s Jaroca Josephine at Ravenswyre JW. Easily the most mature exhibit in this class and produced a lovely profile on the stand with classic proportions. A beautiful girl with nice head qualities and the cheekiest expression. Dark eye. Lovely arched neck and good angulation of shoulder and return of upper arm and matching rear angulation. Moved round the ring with ease but I think could move out even better a fraction faster. Immaculately presented.

2. Burfitt’s Breaksea Timeless. On the initial stand this young lady was the most immature in the class but what a surprise to go over. Lovely broad flat head yet retaining her femininity. Darkest of eyes and melting expression. Good forechest and excellent angulation in front and behind. Didn’t put a foot wrong on the move and moved with the ease her construction suggested. Excellent length of rib. Just didn’t have the finish of 1 but at 23 months she has plenty of time and I look forward to seeing her mature.

Class 16 – Postgraduate (3,1)

1. Sapsford’s Breaksea Truly Scrumptious for Shelcrest. Lovely unexaggerated brown girl with a nice profile on the stand. Correct head with eyes toning with coat. Good forechest and balanced angulation. Moved out well with ease.

2. Price and Horne’s Winaria Winter Solstice for Mobuff JW. Another nice young lady with good head properties and dark eye. Good lay of shoulder and balanced angulation, just tending to hold herself in on the stand which made her look shorter than she actually she is. Well-muscled and moved out well at times but a little distracted today.

Class 17 – Limit (2,1)

1. Jay’s Talraz Song of Summer – stood alone today but nevertheless a worthy class winner. I have judged her before but she is really starting to mature in coat now. Lovely profile on the stand with correct proportions. A really feminine girl with good head and dark eye. Excellent angulation which translated into effortless movement around the ring. Expertly handled and faultless presentation. RBOB

Class 18 – Open (8,3)

1. Jay’s CH Farmarens Drums of Spring at Talraz (IMP SWE) JW– I first judged this dog as a 10-month-old puppy and I liked him then but lovely to see him reach his full potential. Produces a classic profile with lovely proportions when freestanding. Everything about him is in balance. Good head proportions with melting expression and dark eye. Lovely reach of neck with well angulated shoulder and matching rear angles. Good coat which enhances his shape without distracting from it. Beautifully presented but on the move today he was really on fire covering the ground with ease and excellent reach and drive which won him the class. Pleased to award him BOB and see him take Group 3 in the Pastoral group.

2. Nolans CH Talraz Nuts in May VW – different type to 1 but with so much to like about him. A well-presented masculine dog with lovely head and eye, kind expression and strong underjaw. Good forechest and length of rib and excellent angulation. For a 10-year-old boy his movement is impressive but couldn’t quite match 1 today for reach and drive.
