A huge thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge and also for organising a new venue at such short notice. What a lovely friendly show.

Chinese Crested, Puppy (2,2)

I found all dogs with a good temperament and lovely skin.

Dowsett’s LEIBWACHE SOKK IT TO ‘EM TTWSWOOD, 11month old Powerpuff with correct veil coat coming in. Good head and correct overall shape. Balanced rear and front angulation. Moved away and back true, profile movement showed correct flowing long striding gait with extension and drive. Enough width throughout. RBOB, BPIB

Wright’s APAILANA’S I HAD A DREAM. Loved the outline and type of this 7month old hairless. Just not the front extension and drive of 1. Good overall balance and depth, well rounded loin holding a good topline on the move.

Chinese Crested, Junior (3,2)

Godfrey & Peacock’s SHUMLEA IMAGINE A DREAM Powderpuff with heavier coat and not the veil I’d like, but what was under the coat was sound. Good overall shape and angulation front and rear. Head nice with good ear set. True away and back and enough reach and drive in profile movement.

Stainsby’s RIVERALCA AFFRIC another powderpuff with a better coat and veil coming through. Very good balance and shape. Super angulation front and rear. Really liked this dog just not settled on move today, another day could change places.

Chinese Crested, Post Graduate (4,2)

Vidler’s EPIPHANY CALL OF THE KNIGHT, 21mth old hairless dog. Correct ear set, skull a little broad. Good width and depth throughout and shown in lovely condition. Enough rear angulation would benefit from better upper arm angulation. Moved away and back true.

Chinese Crested, Open (7, 3)

Dowsett’s CH DOONBEG FOR THE SKY TTESWOOD JW ScCM, What can I say 10 years old and this girl still has it, not surprised to see she has her title. Best of heads and correct ear set, super veil coat that lifted in the breeze. Excellent shape, depth and width. Held a super topline with correct front and rear extension- showing her experience in when she’d decided that was enough! Looked a picture and definitely not showing her age. Delighted to award her BOB BV

Hall’s CHESTNUTCRES SUN BEAM, unlucky to come against 1 in such lovely condition. Another with lots to like. Correct shape and a true hairless. Super front construction and rear angulation, moved away and back true. Good neck and held a good topline on the move.

Basset Hound, Puppy (1,1)

Melbourne & Murray’s DIHEATH CHEKOV, This 10month old boy was everything I was looking for. Good domed head with lovely low set ears which were long and supple. Just enough neck, correct should and upper arm placement and length- which gave good front reach on the move. Prominent breast bone and good body length, well –ribbed back. Lovely large well padded feet. Just enough angulation in rear, hocks well let down. On the move this boy came alive- Smooth and powerful a hound that could go all day. BOB, BPIB delighted to see shortlisted in a strong Hound Group and also go Hound Puppy Group 1.

Basset Hound Open (1,1)

Freudenreich’s LOCKLOEA ROCKET MAN. Another quality exhibit and a super example of the breed. Good head and excellent length of neck and arch. Good shoulders, forechest fitting neatly into crook. Lovely body condition, length and depth and superb topline. Good rear angulation, which gave super drive. Moved away and back true. Just preferred the puppy’s front extension today but very nice. RBOB

Saluki, Post Graduate (1,1)

Hamilton, Garret & Oakley’s GARYNA OBERON, a graceful male of 4years. Head long and narrow with lovely long ears. Long neck into good body with slight arch over loin. Well-developed first and second though which gave superb drive. Overall a good shape just a little on the taller side for me.

Saluki, Open (1,1)

Garret & Oakley’s CH CARYNA ESPERANZA, This girl just oozed quality with nothing overdone. Super neck into a lovely front with well laid back shoulders. Good depth of chest, leading to strong loin and correctly constructed rear. Movement was smooth and effortless with correct reach and drive. BOB delighted to see placed in a quality Hound group.
