A massive thank you to Hound Club of Northern Ireland for inviting me to judge today. Fabulous atmosphere and some beautiful dogs, just a pity the sun didn't shine. Huge thank you to my chauffeurs for day.

AV Hound Puppy Stakes –

Puppy Dog (4,4)

Fletcher’s COLLOONEY WE’VE GOT THIS, Lovely 10month old male whippet, iconic elegant outline. Beautiful head, long muscular neck into correct shoulders and body. Deep chest, correct arch over loin and well sprung ribs. Best of rear construction. When settled, his super construction showed in an excellent long striding effortless profile movement, true away and back. A youngster I will watch with interest. Delighted to award BPIS and RBIS.

Mullen’s BROUGHADOWEY OG GO DEO, 10mth old Irish Wolfhound. What a pleasure to judge this raw but perfectly constructed male who has plenty of time. Lovely easy springy gait. Good coat texture for age. Super balanced picture. Good neck and enough front and rear angulation. As expected for age has maturing and further developing, but another with a bright future I am sure.

Puppy Bitch (4,3)

Reynolds’ VANTONIA EXCUSED TO GLENARIFF, 8mth old beagle. Good compact shape. Nice head and eye. Super front construction with lovely short pasterns. Good body, arch to neck and held a super topline on the move. Stifles well bent and super tight feet. When settled showed lovely free stride with good reach and drive.

O’Connor & Allen’s TRAMARDACHS PUMPKIN SPICE, 7month old standard smooth dachshund. Lovely head and expression. Good forechest, would benefit from longer upper arm to aid front reach. Enough ribbing. Held a good topline on move, developing hammy rear end. Moved away and back true.

Rooney’s AMASERWAH A CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE, 14mth old male. Good overall shape. Correct front and rear angulation and well bent stifle. Lovely smooth springy gait. Good coat for age.

McCann’s AMASERWAH A BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY MASTERPIECE, Litter brother to 1. Many of same points apply and again lovely springy typical gait. Super depth of chest and spring of rib. Just preferred overall presentation of 1.

Open Dog (3,2)

Semple & Beck’s AYOUBKAN STARGAZER, 3year old. Very flashy male with a lot to offer. Good body with prominent hip bones, enough spring of rib. Well bent and turned stifle. Lovely silky coat.

McCann’s JAZZMEENAH MALIK, nearly 2years. Good width throughout, super shape, not moving to full potential today and feeling the wet weather.

Open Bitch (3,1)

Macpherson’s AMASERWAH A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, 14mnth old who just oozed quality. She was enjoying being outside but when settle showed stunning springy gait and real style. Super outline with good width and depth. Best of fronts and well-let down stifle. Excellent depth and body throughout. Coat maturing nicely and couldn't be denied BOB.

Irvine’s IR CH BRECOMBE MORGAN LA FEY FOR EMMORAH, 22mth old bitch. Good substance. Head ok, lozenge eyes and lovely big nostrils. Correct low set ears. Strong neck into a super topline which was held on the move. Balanced front and rear angulation. Moved true away and back.

McMillen & Graham’s MOONBEAM MOONSHADOW, 4year old bitch. Lovely girl with everything in the right place and just floated lightly round the ring. Elegant head into a super neck. Deep chest, good ribbing and loin. Hip bones wide apart and stifle moderately bent. Good muscle tone and got better the more she settled and more she moved. Delighted to award BOB and Hound Group 3.

Junior Dog/Bitch (1,1)

Duke & Gill’s RUSHDEN EVERLASTIN LOVE, 12month old bitch. Balanced outline with clean lines. Good neck. True away and back. Good overall shape.

Graduate Dog/Bitch (3,3)

Stewart’s WHIPSPERRIN DAINTY DEELITE, 3-year-old bitch. Very feminine with nothing overdone. Clean lines. Head ok with good neck and topline. Balanced front and rear with enough angulation. Moved away and back true and good profile movement.

Semple’s COLLOONEY JACK THE LAD, 22month old male. Really well muscled and shown in great condition. Lovely shape, deep chest with good brisket. Excellent width of thigh and bend of stifle. Moved true and well when settled.

Open Dog (4,1)

Sharkey’s WHIPSPERRIN FIRECRACKER, 3years old. Lovely type. Good head and pigment. Strong neck into good shoulders and good depth. Good ribbing strong loin and bend of stifle.

Open Bitch (4,2)

Sharkey’s WHIPSPERRIN HEART OF GLASS, 4year old bitch. Lovely type and feminine. Clean lines and super overall shape. Good neck into super shoulders, good depth, and strong loin. Good width of thigh and bend of stifle. Lovely profile movement. RBOB

Davidson’s RUSHDEN’S GOT THE LOOK, 7years old and enjoying her day out. Good overall shape and shown in excellent condition. Clean lines and nothing overdone.

Webster’s DALMARNO DEBONAYRE, 21month old Basset Bleu De Gascogne. Enjoying her day out. Lovely long and distinguished head. Correct ear set and good neck. Balanced front and rear angulation. Moved well away and kept a good topline in profile.

3 lovely dogs all worthy of their titles and a privilege to judge.

Fletcher’s IR CH COLLOONEY HE’S A TEASE, 4year old male. Iconic outline and type. Hands flow over correct angulation and clean lines throughout. Moved out, back and in profile well. Good depth, width and muscle, just as you’d expect from a quality exhibit. Nothing overdone.

Patton’s IR CH VANDOR-VADASZ BANYA (IMP HUN), Loved this 8year old girls head- so typical and correct. Excellent neck into correct forequarters in length and angulation. Super height to length ratio. Lovely hammy rear. Good coat texture. Held a super topline on the move with good front extension.

Best in Show- Patton's LESANDNIC LOVE. 17month old bitch who comes alive on the move. Good head with lovely pigment into strong neck and correct front assembly. Well ribbed back, lovely hammy rear. Hands flow over with nothing overdone and good muscle tone. Red with a good coat. Free flowing movement with correct front extension and super rear drive. A true working hound who has everything in the right place, nothing overdone and could ‘go all day’, the more she moved the better she looked. Delighted to award BiS.
