I would like to thank the hard working officers and committee for inviting he to judge the hounds at this show; a nice entry overall and a huge thank you to Alicia Wilson my steward for the day for keeping things moving and being super efficient. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for their entries and for accepting my decisions in a sporting manner.

AFGHAN HOUND POST GRADUATE (2,1,1)

1st Thomson’s LIGHT BY THE SILVERY MOON 2 years male, good size. Masculine head with nice dark eye of correct shape. Good muscular strong neck into well laid shoulder, ribs ok. Good angulation at rear, in good coat and condition, moved well given the ring size and floor covering were not ideal.

1st McDonald, McQuade & Hindley’s HIGHTWIND WHAT A GIRL AT BIRKHALL (IMP DEU) VW SHCM VW (BOB) Mature feminine bitch; presenting a nice balanced profile and in super coat and condition for her age, a credit to her owner. Well made throughout, good head planes with lovely eye and expression; strong muscular neck, good front assembly, good ribs extending well back nice strong loin and muscular rear. Moved well in the ring we had.

RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK JUNIOR (4,1,3)

1st Mulholland & Cunningham’s WALAMADENGIE HEART THROB Masculine dog with good profile; typical head with good ear placement, nice width and depth of muzzle and nice dark eye. Strong muscular neck, well off for bone, good overall construction with nice well let down chest, nice strong short loin giving a nice level topline and with good feet. Moved well out and back and in profile.

2nd Thomson & Green’s ROTTZRIDGE CELTIC LEGEND AT KOTAMURY Good size dog maturing nicely, head ok, nice strong neck into well placed shoulder; elbows nice and tight, good forelegs. Ribs ok, good loin and well angled rear. Still some maturing to do, moved ok given the ring conditions.

1st Thomson & Green’s ROTTZRIDGE CELTIC LEGEND AT KOTAMURY Good size dog maturing nicely, head ok, nice strong neck into well placed shoulder; elbows nice and tight, good forelegs. Ribs ok, good loin and well angled rear. Still some maturing to do, moved ok given the ring conditions.

RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK OPEN (5,2,3)

1st Scanlon’s KINABULA’S ALL ABOUT THE BASS JW WHCEX OSW (BOB) Mature bitch, lovely type and she caught my eye when she came into the ring. Lovely feminine outline, lovely head planes, eye and expression with well placed ears. Good front assembly, shoulder placement and forelegs, ribbed well back with nice strong loin and correct topine, well angled at rear. She is balanced and freestands beautifully and excels on the move with enough reach and drive to cover the ground which won her the class.

2nd Darling Steele’s SAADANI STORM CATCHER WITH SHARUFA Feminine bitch with nie profile, good head with nice dark muzzle and good expression. Muscular neck into good shoulder and nice straight front. Ribbed ok and nicely angled at rear, moved and handled well.

3rd Darling Steele’s SONSTRAAL WALKING SUNSHINE WITH SHARUFA

WHIPPET JUNIOR (4,1,3)

1st Beattie Nash’s RAILFIELD RAINSTORM Lovely youngster with much promise at his second show. Nice profile and pleasing hear with nice clean neck into good shoulder; chest well let down and good forelegs, muscular throughout for age and moved really well with typical movement out and back and in profile which won him the class. Just needs to settle.

2nd Burton’s BALLENBREICH HARRIS Another promising youngster, masculine and with a good profile. Nice head with good expression, correct ears and nice strong mucular neck into well placed shoulders, ribs nicely developed and extending back, well angled at rear and muscular throughout. Moved and handled well.

3rd Salkeld’s DALERAFENN RIVER OF DREAMS

WHIPPET POST GRADUATE (5,1,4)

1st Salkeld’s DALERAFENN FOLLOW A DREAM Feminine bitch of nice size, good head planes, eye and expression. Lovely curvy outline with strong muscular neck, nice clean shoulder and good ribs. Well muscled second thigh and moved well out and back and in profile

2nd Burton’s BALLENBREICH HARRIS Another promising youngster, masculine and with a good profile. Nice head with good expression, correct ears and nice strong mucular neck into well placed shoulders, ribs nicely developed and extending back, well angled at rear and muscular throughout. Moved and handled well.

1st Hunter’s COLLOONEY WAS MEANT TO BE AT SULAHMARA JW (BOB) Lovely dog, caught my eye when he came into the ring; super balanced, masculine profile. Pleasing head, super eye and expression, correct ears, good front assembly, well let down chest and nice tight elbows, good forelegs and feet. Nice to go over and in good muscular condition. Super mover out and back.

2nd Parkinson’s GROOMSVILLE HOLOGEM HEAVENS DREAM Mature bitch with nice typey profile; good size, Feminine head with good eye and lovely expression. Nice muscular neck into good shoulders and well let down chest, ribs extending back nicely. Well angled rear with muscular second thigh, moves well.

3rd Brooks’ RUSHDEN HELLO LOOK AT ME VW

BASENJI OPEN (5,4,1)

1st Donaldson & Rabbitte’s WOODELLA CALEDONIAN (BOB) Promising young pup, literally six months old with bags of character. Nice head, well chiselled and with wrinkle, nice dark eye and well placed ears. Strong neck, straight forelegs with good feet; elbows nice and tight and ribs ok, well angled rear. Moved like a pro; out and back and in profile delighted to see her awarded Res Best Minor Puppy In Show.

DEERHOUND OPEN (8,3,5)

Super class of young deerhounds; how encouraging for the breed.

1st Sharp’s HUMBIEHOUNDS PIRNMILL AT CORONACH (BOB) Masculine profile, nice head of correct planes and with super dark eye and expression, good ears. Nice strong neck, good front assembly, chest well let down, ribs sufficient and good hindquarters. Moved well.

2nd Clabby’s HUMBIEHOUNDS JAZZ IT UP Litter sister to one, feminine with lovely head and the darkest of eye. Muscular neck with nice arch into good shoulder, well made throughout and just now as settled on the move as 1. Am sure she will give her littermate a run for his money.

3rd Sharp’s CHUILLINN FAOLAN AT CORONACH

SALUKI OPEN (3,1,2)

1st Simpson’s ZXYLASAHLAAM GEA’RR VW (BOB) Mature male of 7 years with masculine head, nice dark eye and good ears with nice fringes. Strong neck into good shoulders, nicely let down chest with sufficient rib. Nicely tucked up with strong loin. Fair angulation at rear and moves well out and back. Presented in good condition, handled well.

2nd Phillips’ LUACHMHAR JAMILAH SHCEX Another nice example of the breed presenting a balanced profile; feminine head. Well constructed throughout, sufficient rib, nicely tucked up. Nice feathering to ears and tail, moved okay but a little unsettled.

BEAGLE OPEN (2,1,1)

1ST Deans’ CH GEMPENI CORNFLOWER SHCEX (BOB) Super typey bitch, feminine and full of quality. Presenting a pleasing profile; balanced but with substance. Good head, kindest expression, good ears. Strong neck, good shoulders and nice tight elbow, forelegs straight and with good feet; ribs ok, strong loing and well angled rear; nice tail set on well and super on the move as you would expect from her muscular condition.

DACHSHUND SMOOTH HAIRED OPEN (2,1,1)

1st Balfour’s CLENTRY MANGO PASSION (BOB) Mature bitch, nice profile and lovely head with correct planes, eye and expression; nice dark pigment. Strong neck, muscular into good shoulder and super forechest, good elbows and ribbed well back with strong loin giving good topline and nice underline. Muscular rear which she uses well on the move. Handled well.

DACHSHUND MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED OPEN (3,1,2)

1st Kirkwood’s HELYDON VEXY VIXEN Lovely bitch, full of character and attitude. Feminine on the stack, balanced. Nice coat of correct texture. Nice head planes, good expression and correct ears; prominent forechest, nicely ribbed and strong loin; good topline and muscular rear, tail set correctly and moves with purpose, parallel out and back.

2nd Kirkwood’s HELYDON QUICKSTEP QUEENI Another nice bitch, giving her handler quite the runaround. Presents a pleasing profile; good head and well made throughout, moves with plenty of drive.

1st Anderson & Watt’s SHANTALLAH SONG OF THE LARK BY NISYROS Good sized bitch, catches the eye. Feminine head, beautiful dark eye, prominent forechest, good forelegs, sufficient rib, well angled rear which shes uses on the move.

2nd O’Hare Wilson’s SHANTALLAH FIRE STARTER Another nice example of the breed but not quite the front assembly of 1. Presents a good profile; masculine head, good eye, ribs ok, well angled rear, moves well.

1st Morrin’s CODE RED AGAIN AT ARLATDAX Nice young male presenting a good profile; pleasing head, front is ok, sufficient rib, nicely angled at rear; in good coat and condition and handled superbly by his young master who really gets the most out of him on the move.

1st Morrin & Barbi’s DONARD DREAM FOR ARLATDAX (IKC) BAVARIAN Young male but with plenty of promise; good profile, balanced and masculine. Decent headpiece with correct proportions, lovely dark eye with correct alert expression; strong powerful neck into good forequarters, sufficient bone, good feet, ribbed well back and with rise over loin, muscular rear and good tailset; moves well when settled.

2nd Burden’s FOWLERHEIGHT HUEY ST WIRE HAIRED DACHSHUND Mature male, presenting decent profile; masculine head, good eye; nicely constructed sufficient rib, nice muscular loin giving level topline, well angled rear, moves well. In good coat and condition.
