I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge; this is a super well run show and a really hard working committee who put a lot into ensuring that exhibitors have a great experience. The only thing they cant control; the weather. It was a great day and I’d also like to thank my efficient stewards; Heidi, Paula and Claire for keeping things going and of course the exhibitors for entering and for taking my decisions in such a sporting manner.

AFGHAN HOUND PUPPY (2,0,2)

1st Kirk & Williams’ ISTANI OMAR SHERIFF Exuberant young male puppy; really enjoying his day. Good size and presented a good outline; masculine head with correct proportions with nice dark eye. Good length of neck into well placed shoulder; sufficient upper arm, chest well let down and with decent spring of rib, extending back. Moderately angled at rear; tail set on well and carried nicely; moves well when settled. Shown in lovely coat and condition. RBB, BPIB

2nd Kirk Vickers’ ISTANI BUDDY HOLLEY I see he is litter brother to 1 but not the confidence or attitude of my winner. Pleasing head, well proportioned and with nice dark, well placed eye. Strong neck into sloping shoulder, ribs well let down and extending back. Good angulation at rear and presented well. Just not the confidence on the move which was a shame.

AFGHAN HOUND JUNIOR (1,0,1)

1st Shepherd’s AMASERWAH A KIND OF MAGIC WITH CASACHARED Good sized bitch, presenting a balanced profile; in good coat and condition. Feminine head with good planes, nice dark eye. Sufficient neck into good shoulder, good forelegs. Chest well let down, ribs ok. Angled at rear and good head and tail carriage on the move if a little erratic out and back.

AFGHAN HOUND POST GRADUATE (5,3,2)

1st Blessington’s RHAZMAKH PORTRAIT O’SUMMER feminine bitch, presents a balanced profile with good proportions. Pleasing head with good dark eye placed correctly and nice strong jaw, muscular neck into nicely placed sloping shoulder. Chest well developed with spring of rib and a nice strong loin. Nicely angled at rear, muscular and in lovely coat and condition. Moves well out and back and covers the ground well with good head and tail carriage. BOB

2nd Drage’s ZENDUSHKAS BORN TO RUN, Nice young male, good size and masculine. Typical head with good length to muzzle; muscular neck into fgood sloping shoulder; chest is well let down and with good spring of rib. Good angles front and back. Muscular condition and moves nicely out and back and covers the ground well in profile with correct tail carriage. I preferred the overall balance of 1.

1st Knowles’ SARAWANA DRAGON’S CONQUEST 7 months feminine bitch, red/white. Nice head proportions, good dark eye, wrinkle on the forehead. Good ears of nice size, pointed. Nice strong neck into well laid shoulder; ribs well let down to elbows, good forelegs of fine bone. Nicely bodied for young age, still some maturing to do. Muscular at rear with well let down hock and decent second thigh. Curled tail, set on well and with correct curve of buttock extending beyond root of tail. Moved well, really enjoying her day which was lovely to see.

1st Knowles’ SARAWANA DRAGONFIRE RISING Litter sister to Puppy class winner, red/white. Another promising youngster, good head of correct shape, well cut away with nice dark eye, wrinkling on forehead and nice small pointed ears. Muscular neck into good shoulder; ribs let down to elbows; close in and good forelegs, finely boned. Ribs extending back with nice strong loin giving good topline; tail is set on well and correctly curled and with buttock protruding. Good angles at rear with parallel hocks. Moved well, she is more together at the moment and covered the ground well once she got going. BPIB

BASENJI POST GRADUATE (1,0,1)

1st Hardy & Hallam’s TOKAJI MEMPHIS BELLE, lovely femine youngster presenting a lovely balanced profile, red/white. Feminine head, good proportions with nice dark eye; wrinkli8ng on forehead and nice pointed ears; correctly hooded. Strong muscular neck into good shoulder and ribs let down to the elbow nicely sprung and extending well back. Good straight forelegs; not too much bone. Good angles at rear and nicely muscled second thigh. High set curled tail placed correctly. Super out and back and really covers the ground in profile.

BASENJI OPEN (3,1,2)

1st Hardy & Hallam;s CH TOKAJI NASHVILLE REBEL Super masculine dog and what a character he really was not playing ball today. Good sized dog; presenting a nice elegant profile. Masculine head with good width tapering, nice dark eye, wrinkle and good ears set well forward. Muscular strong neck into good clean shoulder; nice compact in body with strong loin giving him a correct topline. Front and rear angles are good; sufficient bone and good foot. Nice curled tail; set on well and with plenty of muscle at rear. Really comes into his own on the move; covering the ground with lovely swinging stride. He really did make his handler work hard and delighted to see him go Best In Show. BOB

2nd Knowles’ CH BUSHWACKER DRAGON TATTOO AT SARAWANA JW, lovely bitch, mature and feminine. Good head proportions with nice dark eye and correct ears; muscular neck into well placed shoulder; bodied nicely and with strong loin and level topline. Lovely to go over and in great condition she moves nicely with her handler. RBOB

1st Dawson’s MISCHRAN THE SEQUEL FOR STUBBYLEE Masculine young male of good size, lovely head, lean, strong jaw, nice dark eye of correct shape and good ears. Strong neck into clean well placed shoulder, chest well let down, chest well let down and strong loin giving a nice topline. Parallel hindquarters, muscular with hocks well let down; powerful on the move. BOB

2nd Webb’s MISCHRAN TISSAIA AT PARSAX Feminine bitch presenting a nice profile, mature and with a lovely head and nice dark almond shaped eye. Good neck into good shoulders; good front assembly and good topline. Moves nicely, in good coat and condition.

1st Wheatley’s TAKATORI LEGALLY BLONDE Feminine bitch, exquisite head with lovely almond shaped dark eye and good ears, set well. Good neck into well placed shoulder; deep brisket, good forelegs and pasterns. Good topline and nice angulation at rear, hocks well let down. In good coat and presented well. Moves nicely. RBOB

AV HOUND MINOR PUPPY (10,6,4)

1st Bullingham’s STOWEYTOP RED ENDEAVOUR M/S Dachs, lovely young dog; pleasing head; good eye and good forechest and ribbed well back with strong loin giving nice topline and good underline. Muscular read, angled well and really catches the eye on the move, covering the ground well and with great attitude.

2nd Knowles’ SARAWANA DRGON’S CONQUEST Basenji, 7 months feminine bitch, red/white. Nice head proportions, good dark eye, wrinkle on the forehead. Good ears of nice size, pointed. Nice strong neck into well laid shoulder; ribs well let down to elbows, good forelegs of fine bone. Nicely bodied for young age, still some maturing to do. Muscular at rear with well let down hock and decent second thigh. Curled tail, set on well and with correct curve of buttock extending beyond root of tail. Moved well, really enjoying her day which was lovely to see.

1st Moore’s CLOUDSIDE VINCENT S/W Dachs Super young dog really coming into his own; lovely in profile, masculine head of correct proportions, nice dark eye and well placed ears. Nice front assembly; good forechest, ribs extending well back and nice strong loin giving good topline. Well muscled inner thigh, hocks well let down and good tailset. Really covers the ground on the move, a promising future I am sure.

2nd Dawson’s MISCHRAN THE SEQUEL FOR STUBBYLEE Borzoi, Masculine young male of good size, lovely head, lean, strong jaw, nice dark eye of correct shape and good ears. Strong neck into clean well placed shoulder, chest well let down, chest well let down and strong loin giving a nice topline. Parallel hindquarters, muscular with hocks well let down; powerful on the move

AV HOUND YEARLING (16, 12, 4)

1st Pearson’s ARMARDIO DANEL IN THE WIND JW Basset Hound, typey R/W bitch, 22 mnths. Feminine head; good planes and nice dark eye of correct shape and with good leathers. Prominent forechest, nice deep brisket with good ribs, good forelegs and feet, ibs extend well back. Nicely angled at rear, muscular second thigh and well set tail moves well. Super balanced bitch and covers the ground with plenty of drive.

2nd Dawson’s PRIORPARK PROBLEM SOLVED Rhodesian Ridgeback, masculine dog of good size, maturing nicely. Pleasing head of good proportions, nice dark eye and pigment, strong muscular neck into good shoulders; lovely forelegs and feet, chest is well let down and ribs extend well back; strong muscular loin. Good angulation at rear, well let down parallel hocks and good tailset. Moves well out and back and in profile with plenty of drive.

1st Burnside & Manley’s HOUNDSEEKER DRAGONFLY, Bloodhound. Mature bitch presenting a lovely profile. Feminine head; good headplanes, eye and lovely leathers; set correctly. Good front assembly, nice tight elbows and chest well let down; good forelegs and feet; ribs extending well back with plenty of spring. Nicely angled at rear and in good muscular condition. Tail set on well and moves lovely out and back and in profile.

2nd Pearson’s ARMARDIO WIND OF CHANGE JW, Basset Hound. Another nice young bitch from this kennel; typey. Feminine head; good planes and nice eye and leathers. Prominent forechest, plenty of bone, nice deep brisket and ribs extending back. Nice hammy rear end, plenty of muscle and angel well. Moves well out and back and in profile carrying tail well.

A super class of veterans, a real credit to their owners and enjoying their day out. A pleasure to judge.

1st Garratt & Oakey’s CH GLENOAK LUNAH FROM CARYNA Saluki, 8 yrs black and cream bitch. Super feminine bitch; presenting a lovely profile; lovely head, darkest of eye, lean and good ears set on well. Muscular neck into clean shoulder, good forelegs, pasterns and feet. Nice deep brisket, ribs extending back and in good hard condition. Nicely angled at rear. Really elegant on the move, covering the ground and in lovely condition.

2nd Knowles’ CH TOKAJI KLASSIC TRICKSTER AT SARAWANA Basenji, Lovel bitch of good size; nice head, good eye and expression, good ears set well. Good neck and front assembly, well bodied and nice pliant skin, good tail. Muscular rear. Moves well.
