Many thanks to the hard working committee for putting on a well organised show and to the exhibitors for their entries and for taking my decision in a sporting manner. I was delighted to read that Hound Group 1, the Basset Hound went Reserve Best In Show, very well deserved.

BASSET HOUND

JUNIOR (2,1,1)

1st MELBOURNE & MURRAY’S DIHEATH CHEKOV, Young dog giving a really balanced profile. Masculine headpiece, good proportions with plenty of depth, nice eye giving lovely expression, ears set on well of good length and correct texture. Good forelegs; plenty of bone and correct feet; prominent forechest with plenty of depth and ribs extending well back. He is well covered with a good strong loin which shows on the move with his lovely topline. Well angulated and muscled at rear, hocks well let down and tail set correctly. Where this does really catches the eye is on the move with plenty of reach and drive he really covers the ground and keeps a really good profile on the move. (BOB & GROUP 1 & RES BEST IN SHOW)

1st PEARSON’S ARMARDIO WIND OF CHANGE JW Well made feminine bitch, maturing nicely. Feminine head of good proportions and with good eye and leathers. She has a well developed forechest and has plenty of bone throughout, good deep brisket and ribs are ok. Muscular rear, well angled and moves well with good tail carriage. Unlucky to meet the male today (RBOB)

2nd STRUDWICK’S ARMARDIO RIDE LIKE THE WIND AMONG KUMAMATATA JW Litter brother to 1 this is a masculine dog with a balanced outline. Appealing head with good eye with lovely expression and nicely set ears. Front is ok, sufficient bone and ribs extending back. Good rear angulation and plenty of muscle moved and handled well.

1st COATES’ GLADSTYLE STONE MASON 8 months tri male. Very promising youngster, Pleasing head with lovely eye and expression, lovely leathers set on well. Good reach of neck with good forequarters, sufficient bone, good feet. Ribs extending nicely back with good strong loin. Moderate at rear with good tailset. Moved nicely out and back and excellent in profile. RBOB, BPIB.

2nd EDLEY’S MILLIE’S SPIZE 7 months tri female. Feminine head with nice dark eye and good ears, set correctly. Nice to go over but a bit overwhelmed by her first show. Moved ok with settled.

JUNIOR (6,2,4)

1st HARDISTY’S BLUNDERHALL SAUCY SALLY JW Super typey bitch, compact and feminine. Pleasing head proportions, nice dark eye, good ears set correctly. Good strong neck into well laid shoulder, good depth of chest and good ribs with strong loin giving a nice level topline. Stright forelegs, sufficient bone and nice tight feet. Well angled rear with well let down hocks. Covers the ground well on the move, driving from the rear and with good tail carriage. Delighted to award her BOB.

2nd GRIFFIN’S CLARISMORE WINTER LUXURY Another nice bitch, presenting a nice profile. Nice head with good eye and well set leathers. Good forequarters, sufficient depth of chest, ribs extending bac and with strong loin. Good angulation at rear, well muscled and with correct tailset. Moves nicely out and back and in profile but not as together as 1.

1st PETERSON’S TROOPERSWAY GRECIAN GIRL When she stands still presents a pleasing profile; nice feminine head of good proportions, strong neck into well placed shoulder, good forelegs and feet. Ribs extend back and strong loin giving level topline. Nicely angled muscular rear. Moves well when she cooperates with her handler.

1st HARDISTY’S BLUNDERHALL JACKS THE LAD JW Super compact male, pleasing hear with good proportions and the sweetest of expression, lovely dark pigment and good leathers, set correctly. Strong neck, good forequarters, nicely boned and good depth of chest. Ribs extend back into a nice strong loin and well angled and muscled at rear. Tail of good length, set correctly. Moved well out and back and presenting a good profile with correct tail carriage.

2nd COATES’ GLADSTYLE TOO CLOSE TO CALL JW Lovely feminine tan / white bitch, ultra feminine head with nice dark eye giving a lovely expression, good ears. Well made throughout and she is steady on the move, foot perfect out and back and with a lovely set tail carried well. Unlucky to meet 1.

1st BATES’S GUNTHWAITES RED HOT ROSE This young bitch really caught my eye; she is super feminine and so together. She has a super head, feminine and with the darkest of eye and strong muzzle, correct ears. Strong arched neck into good shoulders and nicely boned straight forelegs with correct feet. Ribs extending back and nicely angled at rear; muscular. She excels on the move, covering the ground well, delighted to award her BPIB & PUPPY GROUP 1.

2nd COLLIER, COLLIER, COLLIER & COX’S CARLINCOX KNOCK YA SOCKS OFF Another nice youngster, unlucky to meet 1. Masculine, presenting a good profile. Good headpiece, lovely dark eye and strong muscular neck into good shoulder. Nice to go over but he needs to mature and with time he will come together nicely. Ribs extending back, strong muscular condition and nicely angled at rear with muscular second thigh. Moves well but just needs to mature.

1st PARSONS’ PRIORPARK PAR THE COURSE Masculine young male, good head proportions, lovely eye and expression, correct ears. Strong arched nick into good shoulder, nice forelegs, sufficient bone and good feet. Good depth of check, ribs extend well back and nice muscular loin giving correct topline, Well angled rear, muscular and hocks well let down. Moves well covering plenty of ground and driving from that well muscled rear; carrying tail correctly in profile.

2nd MILLS, MILLS, MILLS & PARSONS’ PRIORPARK PRIDE AND JOY TO NZURI Young feminine bitch, pleasing head with good forequarters, nice deep brisket with good spring of rib, well covered and in muscular condition. Moved and handled well.

POST GRADUATE (3,1,2)

1st THOMAS-BASSETT’S FIADMA’S STIGGENS 20 month male, maturing nicely and a lot to like. Pleasing masculine head, correctly proportioned. Nicely arched, muscular neck, good forequarters, sufficient bone, nice depth of chest and ribs extending well back. Good muscular rear which shows on the move, covering the ground well

2nd HANCOCK’S STASIMELSIE MACE Mature bitch, feminine. Head is ok, lovely eye giving a nice expression. Good front, chest well let down, in nice harsh condition. She was not quite settled today on the move which was a shame.

1ST PARSONS’ PRIORPARK’S POETRY IN MOTION JW What a super class. Mature feminine bitch really catches the eye and presents a balanced profile. Feminine headpiece with lovely eye and expression, good head proportions, strong muzzle. Strong neck into good shoulder, good forelegs, sufficient bone and excellent feet. Chest is well let down and good ribs, extending back into strong loin and with a muscular rear with plenty of width and she really covers the ground well with a super profile on the move. 2nd HENSHALL’S SUHUBA DREAM STAR SULLI Strong masculine male, liked him a lot. He presents a powerful profile, lovely head with darkest of eye and good ears. Strong neck, arched and into good shoulder. Well developed and super to go over, in excellent condition. He moves well but not as clean on the move as 1. RBOB

1st SAWYER BOUGHTON BACK ON TOP (GREYHOUND) Brindle male, pleasing head of good proportions, lovely rose shaped ears, strong neck into clear shoulder and good angles front and rear, chest is sufficient but still some maturing to do. Tail long and set on low. Moved well considering the cold conditions.

2nd KNOWLES’ SARAWANA DRAGONFIRE RISING (BASENJI) Promising young bitch but not enjoying the cold weather today. Pleasing head, well cut away and with dark eye and wrinkling and pointed ears. Mucular neck, soog shoulders and chest well let down, ribs ok. Tail set on well and curled correctly with buttocks protruding. Moved and handled well. Just not the weather for her today

1stKNOWLES’ SARAWANA DRAGON’S CONQUEST (BASENJI) Nice head proportions, good dark eye and wrinkle on forehead, good ears of nice size, pointed. Nice to go over, she is maturing nicely with well let down chest, ribs extending back and in good muscular condition. Curled tail, set correctly. Moves well covering the ground with an elastic movement. RBOB

2nd SAWYER INCHYDONEY MEMORIES UNE VIRGIN MARY AVEC STONELAW (IMP FRA) (GREYHOUND) Feminind bitch, presents a good outline and nice to go over Pleasing head, strong muscular neck into clear shoulder. Chest is well let down and in muscular condition, tucked up and nicely angled at rear. Moves ok but impacted by the cold venue today.

1st BOGGIA’S BOUGHTON BACK FOR MORE (GREYHOUND) Presents a lovely profile; ultra feminine yet powerful. Lovey head planes, darkest of eye giving a super expression, lovely rose ears. Strong arched neck into clean shoulder, good front and rear angulation, nice deep brisket, ribs extending back and nicely tucked up. Powerful on the move, covering the ground with purpose. BOB

2nd BRIDGE’S JANSAMS THE SHOW MUST GO ON (BORZOI) Mature dog, masculine and presenting a powerful profile. Pleasing head of good proportions, lovely roman nose and powerful jaws. Good forelegs, sufficient bone and good feet, chest is well let down, ribs extending back. Good rear angulation, well muscled and parallel hocks. In good coat and condition, unlucky to meet 1.

Good front and rear assembly, nice deep chest and ribs extending back. Tail of good length, carried correctly. Powers around the ring covering the ground.

2nd BAILEY’S GLASVEY DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR LOGGETA (L/H DACHSHUND) Typey bitch, correct conical head with strong jaws, lovely eye and expression, good strong neck, prominent forechest, sufficient spring of rib, ribs extending well back and strong loin giving her correct topline. Well angled rear, hocks well let down and powering around the ring.

Chest is well let down and good ribs, extending back into strong loin and with a muscular rear with plenty of width and she really covers the ground well with a super profile on the move. GROUP 3 – CROSS’ CH/IRCH LOGGETA TROUBLE IN TEXAS SHCEX Masculine male in his prime, presdents a lovely balanced profile. Masculine head with good proportions, strong jaws and lovely dark eye. Well made all through and in good condition, moves really well out and back and in profile; covering the ground and using his muscular rear.

GROUP 4 – HALLIDAY & CROXFORD’S AARMINIAS FRENCH FANCY AT WHITTIMERE JW Lovely whippet, feminine with an elegant profile. Pleasing head with nice dark eye and correct ears. Strong neck into clean shoulder, chest is well let down and good forelegs good feet. Strong loin giving correct topline. Long tail set correctly and moves well.

PUPPY GROUP 3 – DICKINSONS’ DAKOTADAX LEGEND OF ZELDA (DACHSHUND WIRE HAIRED) Feminine youngster, head is ok, good eye and ears. Strong neck and a firm topline. Ribs ok but still to mature and tail is set on well. Moved well. PUPPY GROUP 3
