Thank you to The Otterhound Club for nominating me for this judging appointment and to The Hound Association for inviting me to judge and for a well run and efficient show.

1st, Fitzherbert-Stewart’s OLPHAE FLEUR WITH OTTATACK (AI) Just a lovely baby enjoying her day out. Nice outline with stacked in profile; good head of correct shape with domed head and nice dark eye, sufficient stop and a nice big black nose. Good leathers. Very raw and a lot of maturing to be done as you would expect; well made bitch, nicely boned throughout, front is ok, sufficient rib, strong loin and tail set on correctly, moderately angled at the rear. Moved well if a little erratic at times. Has plenty of time on her side to mature and body up and her coat still to develop. RBOB & BPIB

1st Madge’s CH TECKLEGARTH GEORGIA BOB 4 yr old mature bitch, lovely type and really in her prime. Lovely head, noble and nicely domes, lovely dark eye and big black nose; stop well defined and ears set on well and of correct length and good texture. Strong neck into nicely laid back shoulder. Front assembly is correct, nice bone and good feet, sufficient rib and nice strong loin giving her correct topline on the move; tail set on correctly. In good coat, of correct texture. Moderately angled at rear and in lovely muscular condition which shows on the move; delighted to have had the opportunity to judge such a quality hound. BOB

1st Wolstenholmne & Moughton & Farleigh’s KINABULA ROUGE DIAMOND AT DEKRIS 2yr old mature male presents a lovely graceful outline, good head with nice head planes, lean and has lovely hazel eye with a delightful keen expression; uses his ears well. Muscular neck of good length into well placed shoulder, straight forelegs with sufficient bone, nice tight feet; chest well let down and nicely ribbed, muscular rear, moderately angled and with good second thigh. Moved and handled well. BOB

Super class of youngsters and am sure that many of these will do well.

1st Holder & Boggia’s BOUGHTON BACK TO THE FUTURE 7 months female Greyhound, really striking bitch, super feminine. Really admired her in profile; lovely head lean and with nice dark eye and lovely expression, strong muscular neck into clean shoulder and lovely straight forelegs with sufficient bone and excellent feet. Chest let down well and ribbed nicely back; strong loin and correct sloping topline; muscular rear, nicely angled and when settled moved well. In excellent condition, a credit to her owners.

2nd Barnes’ DIAMONDRIDGE DREADNOUGHT 8 months male Rhodesian Ridgeback, masculine dog, lovely head shape with nice dark eye, strong muscular neck into well placed shoulder and well off for bone, nice feet, sufficient rib, well covered and strong in loin giving correct topline; moderately angled at rear; well muscled which he uses to his advantage on the move. Really lovely movement in profile with plenty of reach and drive.

1st Howlett & Phillips’ TENDROW MALIBAR 12 months male standard wire, what a smasher, he totally commands the ring from the moment he walks in. Presents a lovely profile; well balanced, masculine and with plenty of substance. Loved his head and his lovely dark eye giving the cheekiest of expression, well placed shoulder, prominent forechest and well boned with super feet; ribs extending back and strong muscular loin, he is well angled at rear and keeps his lovely topline at all times. Moves well in all directions and in tip top condition which shows on the move

2nd Carrington’s AMBERTAIL’S HEELS ON NEW SHORES AT SENJIBA (CAN IMP) 14 month male Basenji. Lovely young male, tan / white. Nice head, well chiselled with correct eye; sufficient wrinkle, using his ears well. Good length of neck, well muscled and into well laid shoulder, good forelegs. Nicely ribbed, strong muscular loin giving correct level topline, well covered and skin pliable, moderately angled at rear, nice parallel hocks, well muscled inner thigh. Super mover in profile; correct swinging action am sure he will do well.
