Open Show 2nd June 2024

I would like to thank the committee, for inviting me to judge at their Open Show, it had been done with the exhibitors in mind and was a lovely show to attend, made even better with the good weather that we had for the day.

The dogs that came under me were, without exception, presented in a good clean condition.

AV Hound NSC Junior 4

1s Paskins Mr K & Mrs L. Kindeace. Hit the Road Jack. Standard LH Dachsund who was on great form, Masculine head with a dark eye and lovely ear set, long neck and well placed shoulders, prominent breast bone and excellent topline. Strong hindquarters and correct tail set, he moved freely and with drive.

2nd Ms H Sawyer. Inchydoney Memories Une Virgin Mary Avec Stonelow (Imp Fra). Fawn Greyhound that I have watched from being a baby puppy, she does not make it easy for her handler, but she improves each time I see her. Stood she looks well balanced and once she got into a rhythm, she had the low free movement required from this breed. Long head with dark eye, well arched neck with well set back shoulders, strong hindquarters which had plenty of drive, one to watch for the future.

AV Hound NSC Post Grad. 3 (Abs1)

1st Ms H Sawyer. Inchydoney Memories Une Virgin Mary Avec Stonelow (Imp Fra).

2nd Francis Mr R & Mrs YYvonne. Lokadl at Feebrick. Miniature LH Dachsund. Blonde male with a well hindquarters, although he moved well he didn’t have too much enthusiasm on the day.

AV Hound NSC Open 8 (2 Abs)

1st & BNSC Hound. Virgo Mrs S & Hicks Mrs Lynda. Am. Vh. Suni Sky Full ) Stars by Sumahari. Afghan Hound. Handsome Male that really takes over the ring when he enters. Stood he has a classic outline with a dignity you cannot ignore, and when he moves, he had style and movement that captures your attention.. Beautiful head and neck, well placed shoulders and lovely topline, deep brisket and powerful hind quarters, well set on tail, he moved beautifully around the ring. Delighted to give him Hound group 2.

2nd Brooks Mrs S. Eslet Classic Oligarch at Greenwood. Mature Greyhound that stood over the ground well, well balanced with a long head and neck well set shoulders deep brisket and a strong topline, correct arch over loin, strong hindquarters well-muscled with low hocks. He is an excellent mover and puishe done hard.

AV Imported Register Breed (Hound)

1st & Best AV IR (hound) Simm Mrs Sheila. Stonemartin Anion at Ezhart. Azawakh. A masculine hound showing all the unique tributes of an Azawakh. Long fine head with dark eye, well set on ears, long neck, slightly arched, prominent withers and strong straight legs. Correctly proportioned length of body with slight rise over loin, prominent pinbones and the required moderation hind angulation. Happy to give him Hound Group 3.

AVH Veteran Hound 3Abs)

1st and BAVHV. Whitaker-Crosby Mrs J. Cobyco Could Be The Last at Mulcair Jw.Shcm. Beautiful Brindle Lady that defies her age. Well balanced throughout, head long and lean with neat ears, elegant neck well arched that lead into well laid shoulders, deep chest with well sprung ribs and great topline and tuck up. Hind quarters were strong , moderate bend of stifle and well let down hocks, moving she was sound both front and rear and he side action was a delight to see. Happy to award her Best Hound Veteran, and was delighted when she went BVIS.

Hound Group.

Hound Group 1. Peach Mr M & Mrs G. Kilbourne Flora Modeva. Deerhoiund. What a beautiful Hound this is from a well-known kennel that has bred for type and soundness which shows in this girl. Well balanced throughout she stands over the ground well. Long head with dark eye, high set on ears long elegant neck with well laid shoulders, deep brisket with excellent topline, broad hindquarters with excellent bend of stifle, hocks low to the ground. She moved effortlessly around the ring, showing her long stride to perfection. Was delighted to hear she had gone RBIS.

Hound Puppy Group

Hound Puppy Group 1 Hardisty Mrs S. Blunderhall Jacks the Lad Jw. What a beautiful puppy she is. Lovely compact hound great head with dark eye, long ears and decent neck, well laid-back shoulders and great topline, lovely straight legs and great depth of brisket. Hindquarters were well muscled with short hocks. She moved with a long free stride that was effortless.
