Critique on all Terrier Breeds and Terrier Group
I was a real, last-minute replacement judge (e.g. telephoned on the morning of the show), standing in for Sharon Pinkerton who had been incapacitated. I hope that she is now more mobile and in less pain. My thanks to the exhibitors for the sporting manner in which they accepted my decision, especially since I had recently judged terriers locally.
Border Terrier Puppy (6):
1. Willmitt’s Goldenmill Silent Whisper, liked the overall shape of this youngster, feminine, pleasing size, has a good jacket and is free moving and sound, terrier group puppy 2;
2. Hall’s Borderrush Beeble Honey Rum, another nice one with pleasing head shape and eye, good jaws, pleasing topline held on the move, just preferred the hindquarters of 1;
3. Cummins’ Kewhaigh Innocent Man
Border Terrier Junior (5):
1. Atkinson’s Raedwulf Moondance, liked the bodylines on this one, pleasing outline overall which she maintains on the move, has a good pelt and scored on the move;
2. Hall’s B Beeble Honey Rum
3. Willmitt’s Goldenmill Could It Be Magic
Border Terrier Post Graduate (5): liked both 1 and 2 in this class
1. Mann’s Lynsett the Huntsman, takes the eye immediately with his good outline, so very clean through neck and shoulders, excellent body and bodylines, good topline and well made hindquarters, carries the correct coat and has a pleasing head shape and good tail shape, goes freely in profile and drives behind, pleasure to award him BOB and group 2;
2. Hall’s Borderush Rambutan, really pushed hard, has a look of quality, I did like this pleasing size bitch with good head and is a sound true mover who looks good in profile;
3. Cummins’ Havencroft Emerald Via Kewhaigh
Border Terrier Open (2):
1. Willmitt’s Goldenmill Harvest Fantasy, correct head shape, neck and shoulders, pleasing coat and is sound, possesses a very pleasing outline in profile which she maintains on the go-around, slightly long in loin;
2. Atkinson’s Raedwulf Nightfall, fit, well-muscled dog with strong hindquarters.
Norwich Terrier Post Graduate (1):
1. Webster’s Brancova’s Enola Holmes, 7 months bitch of pleasing type and overall shape, great personality and a sound mover in all directions, going with enthusiasm in profile, good eye, body and ribs, scored in bone and hind action for BOB, puppy group 3;
Norwich Terrier Open (1):
1. Webster’s Ragus Another Button, pleasing type bitch of 19 months, another with a great personality, pleasing eye, good body properties and has a good coat, has a look of feminity, carries herself well in profile, pushed hard;
Bedlington Terrier Puppy (1):
1. Jackson’s Terrablue Spirit, 10 months bitch with pleasing head, shown in good condition and musculature, needs time, BOB;
Fox Terrier (Wire) Open (1):
1. Roulston, Bradley and Huikeshoven’s Wyregait Queen of Gold, long head, good jaws, pleasing eye, shown in good musculature and has a great temperament, very well handled to get the best out of her, shame she had no competition, BOB;
Kerry Blue Terrier Open (1):
1. Rafter’s Rafscos Annie Get Ya Gun, lovely type bitch, upstanding but compact, liked her long head, strong jaw and punishing foreface, reachy neck, good forequarters, strong bone, level topline, well bent stifles, moved really well in profile and sound out and back, presented well and has a good coat, overall presents a very pleasing picture, a pleasure to award her Terrier Group 1;
Jack Russell Terrier Post Graduate (2):
1. Morris and Jefferson’s Chandlimore Pass The Buck to Mycalleys, 2 years male who looks good in overall outline, preferred his balance to 2, pleasing head and eye, well made through body, correct topline and moved soundly in all directions;
2. Laycock’s Chandlimore Buddy Boy, this boy is a great character, free mover, shown in lovely condition, good topline and hindquarters, puppy group 4;
Jack Russell Terrier Open (3):
1. Donnelly’s Calavey Abu, judged this dog before and my remarks remain the same, takes the eye with his outline and natural showmanship, keeps his outline on the move, well handled and presented, Terrier Group 4;
2. Chandlimore Buddy Boy
3. Wagh’s Rodale Rocky Road for Dewdhala
West Highland White Terrier Open (3):
1. Pearson’s Hopecharm New Beginnings for Winoski, pleasing for overall type and size, good body and particularly liked her coat of correct texture, BOB;
2. Seymour’s Fourastay Fine Design, fit and in great condition, extrovert character, not the coat of 1;
3. Pearson’s Braxquin One In A Million for Winoski
AVNSC Terrier Puppy (2):
1. Smithson’s Rebelside Mythical Moon at Phoenixscar, Bull Terrier, 8 months bitch of lovely type, outline and a look of definite quality, excellent mouth, pleasing head shape, depth of brisket and spring of rib for age, good hindquarters, sound mover in free, easy strides, went on to TG3, PG1 and later RBPIS, good luck for the future;
2. Taylor’s Verumamicus Drusus, Skye Terrier baby of just 6 months but struck me as a puppy of real promise, has a look of quality and is well made all through, pleasing head, well made fore and hindquarters, oval ribcage, correct topline held on the move, pushed hard;
