The committee of this society deserve a huge pat on the back as the original show had to be cancelled due to the bad flooding as a consequence of the vagaries of our weather! I was only scheduled to judge Whippets but took on other hound breeds as well as some Toy Breeds and the Group.
Whippet Puppy (1):
1. Cannon’s Pursenet Painted Lady, feminine youngster of just over 1 year old, pleasing hindquarters, shown in fit condition but would benefit from a little more condition, could be better in front;
Whippet Junior (1):
1. Cannon’s Pursenet Our Special Girl, youngster shown in pleasing condition, pleasing head, correct bone and feet, moved well behind, could be better in front;
Whippet Open (3):
1. Hunter’s Collooney Was Meant To Be At Sulahmara, three years fawn brindle male with a look of quality and full of breed type, thought he had a lovely head and correct shaped eye, scored in bodylines and shown in super condition, very good hindquarters and moved particularly well behind, in profile he maintained his lovely outline and showed correct daisy cutting action, pleasure to judge, easy BOB and HG1, not surprised to learn afterwards that he is now made up;
2. McNally’s Ramita’s Lady of Slumber at Conekesheved, pretty and nice type, pleasing body lines, would prefer better front;
3. Metcalfe’s Aarminia’s Dancy Like A Dafty

Post Graduate (1):
1 Altman and Hamlyn’s Claela Bonny At Morn With Soleildor, feminine and well bodied, well muscled with pleasing hindquarters, pleasing coat, moved soundy, BOB;

Puppy (1):
1. Morrin and Barbi’s DONARD DREAM FOR ARLATDAX, Bavarian Mountain Hound, pleasing type, liked his head and eye, good bodylines, moved soundly;
Open (3):
1. Pocklington-Hall’s MERLIN DO CASAL DOS CHOUPOS (IMP PRT) ShCEx, Basset Fauve de Bretagne, now a veteran but still in good form, good muscle and presented well, pleasing head, eye, coat and sound moving;
2. Hunter’s NEPTUNE DE KOULANGAR AT SULAHMARA (IMP FRA) JW, Afghan Hound of pleasing type with good head, strong hindquarters, well presented, sound moving although would have benefitted from more room to get into stride;
3. Smith’s KATANGA’S JESSICA JONES, Afghan Hound

1. Middleston’s CAELESTIBLEU SUEDE SHOES Basset Bleu De Gascogne of pleasing type and delightful temperament, correct head and pleasing size, correct balance for the breed and a merry mover;

Gp 1 Collooney Was Meant To Be At Sulahmara, Whippet
Gp 2 Morgan’s Rushmill Pikeur, Deerhound who pleased me in many respects, good type, pleasing head, overall shape, good legs and feet, correct bodylines, strong hindquarters, went in tune with handler;
Gp 3 Mackfall’s CH HESPA MASSETO OF AFRICANER JW, Rhodesian Ridgeback who is all male and looks as if he could do the job for which he was bred, imposing outline, strong but typical head, super bone and substance, well muscled all through, moved soundly, perhaps the smallish ring impeded his being able to show himself at his best on the move, liked him;
Gp 4 Dover’s PALAMEDEES ARIAN KHRYSOS AT KEANVER JW, Borzoi of pleasing head shape, shapely body lines, in good condition, moved soundly, sure that maturity will benefit;
Puppy Group
Gp 1 Morgan’s Greyflax Bracken, Deerhound who is now 14 months but was a puppy when the shows was meant to be held, she appealed for type and overall outline, pleasing head, forequarters, correct coat and strong hindquarters, kept her outline on the move where she went soundly, has lots of promise for the future;
Gp 2 McIntosh and Macfall’s CHAGALL IONA WITH ATTITUDE, Rhodesian Ridgeback who was feminine and of good overall make and shape, shown in super condition and moved well in all directions;
Gp 3 Middleton’s CAELESTIBLEU SUEDE SHOES Basset Bleu De Gascogne with delightful temperament, pleasing head, shown in good condition, moved well;
Gp 4 Bowers’ SASILASY EDGE OF CHAOS AT LYONGLEN, Basset Hound of pleasing overall type, well ribbed, good hindquarters;

Moss and Connolly’s ASHMAIR LIVE TO TELL MAMOSE ShCEx (IKC), lovely example of the breed who is most typical of the breed and looks of champion quality, liked the head, eyes and pigmentation, well made fore and aft with correct body, topline and set on of tail, correct coat and excellent presentation, overall proportions and balance is good, sound on the move where the carriage is most typical of the breed, pleasure to judge, BOB and Toy Group 1;
Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) Post Graduate
1. Lambert’s BLIZZARD STORM, nearly 9 months dog with pleasing overall construction, excellent topline and good hindquarters, a good showman and a great extrovert, sound move, BOBr;
Japanese Chin Post Graduate
1. Beadling’s SHARLARNA HOT BLOODED AT POLLYPECK, 3.5 years male, real character, pleasing head and overall type, good eyes, shown and presented in lovely condition, clearly adores his owner, BOB;

AV Vulnerable Native Breeds Puppy (9): a very interesting class to judge and good that these precious native breeds are being encouraged and will hopefully generate interest in these super breeds.
1. Hannar’s BOROVALE JAZZMIN, Smooth Fox Terrier, this 10 months bitch is of lovely type and quality, presents a most typical outline and excels in her friendly but fearless personality, a great showgirl already, stands over a lot of ground and yet short backed, pleased in head, eye, neck/shoulders and topline, moved well in all directions, will follow her progress;
2. Bell’s WHOOPERHILL SERENDIPITY FOR LETARA, Sealyham Terrier of very pleasing type and overall balance and shape, dark eyes, good pigmentation, medium length body, well sprung ribs, sound mover with good drive;
3. Milner’s THRYDINGS MARCIA’S HEART, Min Bull Terrier

1. Gibson’s Ferndel Rossana at Cadehill, WSS of pleasing type and size, correct shape head, adequate bone, correct proportions, sound true mover, she just needs time to develop, gain body and maturity will be to her benefit

1. Gibson’s COOLFIN AOIFE OF FOREVERKNOX, Irish Red/White Setter, very nice example of the breed, correct size with pleasing head and eye, well made front, correct ribs, legs and feet, well made hindquarters and drove from behind with correct tail action;

1. Milner’s THRYDINGS ORKNEY COUNTESS, Min Bull Terrier, 8 years and a great character, good for type with pleasing shaped head and correct obliquely placed eyes, good mouth, moved soundly enough;
AV Brace (17):
1. Williams’ brace of Golden Retrievers, very well matched and so similar in type and quality, with very similar heads, correct proportions and moved in unison;
2. Morris’ brace of American Cocker Spaniels who are very similar and well matched, this pair were having great fun and not quite in unison as 1;
3. McIntosh’s brace of Rhodesian Ridgebacks
AV Bred By Exhibitor (27):
1. Kent’s LYFEARON OFF WITH HER HEAD ShCEx, Siberian Husky of lovely shape, size and balance, alert with good head shape, well made through front, correct bone and feet, excellent topline, correct coat and very well made hindquarters, smooth and effortless on the move and totally sound;
2. Scott’s SCOKIRA EMERALD DREAM, Irish Setter of very pleasing type and overall shape, has quality, liked her head and eye, well made front and hindquarters, racy outline and sound moving, a good sort;

Kent and Sutton’s Korifey Reckless JW, Dobermann, a young dog whom I have awarded BIS at an open show at Easter, pleased to see him again and to see how he is maturing so steadily and looking so good, well made all through with good head, wonderful legs and feet, balanced with a look of quality and breeding, never put a foot wrong on the move, good luck with him;
2. Hunt and Oliver’s SONGSHIJIA CHIEF KWANGCHOW, Chow Chow of very pleasing type, a youngster with many virtues, most pleasing head, correct coat and bone, excellent feet, moved freely and soundly;
3. Berry and Clegram’s SMIDDYSHAW HERE I GO AGAIN

1. Holmes’ CH LISJOVIA ESTEVEZ JW ShCM ShCEx VW, Pyrnean who belies being a veteran, what a lovely dog, full of quality and type and so well made to go over him, correct head, well made fore and aft, correct coat and very good mover;
2. Mackfall’s CH HESPA MASSETO OF AFRICANER JW, Rhodesian Ridgeback, HG3
Junior Warrant Competition Qualifying Heat (25): this was a lovely class to judge with quality right down the line. There will be several who will achieve letters in front of their name in the future too!
1. McNally’s CONEKESHEVED OUT OF THE BLUE JW, Bedlington Terrier who is a class act, judged him in April when I gave him an all breeds open show BPIS, delighted to be told that he has now gained his title, so typical of the breed with correct shaped head and eye, well made all through with correct bodylines, flat ribbed with natural arch over the loin and moderate turn of stifle, such a good mover and maintains his static outline in motion, added to these physical qualities, he is shown and presented superbly, good luck in the semi finals!
2. Blackburn’s DISORANTO A PERFECT MATCH JW (IMP POL) , Newfoundland of lovely type, broad head and muzzle, correct eye shape, strong muscular neck set into good shoulders, firm level topline, super hindquarters, double coat, flat and dense (although not quite in full coat yet), showed total soundness on the move with good reach and drive, one whose progress I will follow;
3. Sangster’s CH KIRLASIDH YOUNG PRETENDER JW, L/Chihuahua
