Pharaoh Hound
L (1) 1 Regina Alessandra. Long elegant head on this three year old b, which stood on decent feet and was presented in good coat and condition. Dark eye and good expression. Free stands very nicely to show off all her attributes.
O (2) 1 Ynchreeno Gold Edition. Very typical in outline and extremely well handled to get the very best from her. Lovely feminine head with large fine ears. Dark amber eyes give a very intelligent and almost superior expression. Well ribbed back, strong straight legs, and very well muscled. A free mover with little lift. BoB. 2 Kurriera Krystal Amethyst. A shade longer than 1 and not quite the strength in pasterns which showed in her movement. Has a long lean head with good ear and eye set. RBoB
Irish Red and White Setter
SY (1) 1 Roanjora Cremant D’Alsace. Immaculately presented and in first class bang on order, this is a really lovely youngster and exciting prospect. Glorious head with plenty of work, and has strength yet femininity all through. Well made with balance of angles fore and aft, which she used to great effect on the move producing a sound tidy action. BoB.
O (1) 1 Roanjora Rioja Crianza. Another from this kennel today who was presented in tip top condition and showing on best form. Lovely headshape and dark expressive eye. Well laid shoulder and strong topline. Usefully angled quarters produce a strong driving action on the move. RBoB.
Border Terrier
Thank you to all the exhibitors who entered, and to the EABTC for the supported entry.
P (5,3) 1 Louajak Blue Fizz. Good moving blue/tan who is going through a bit of a longer rangy stage of growth at the moment. Has lots of positives to appraise, and was particularly good on the move with strong drive from well made rear quarters. Stands on good feet and has a good pelt. 2 Onthill Island Rover. Masculine headed young male with nice dark eyes. He was lovely to handle on the table and has a great temperament – handler just needs to gain confidence with him now. Very good in hind action when moving away, and presented in good muscular condition.
J (5,3) 1 Sweet Dancing Lady. Workmanlike b who is a little large in frame but has a better front assembly than 2, which clinched this class win. In good coat and very well muscled. Needs to learn the job better on the move, but did enough to impress . 2 Louajak That’s Amore. A little taller and more rangy than 1 at present. Nicely headed and good large clean teeth. In great condition and coat is coming in well.
PG (5,2) 1 Ragatam Isla at Louajak. Taller but elegant looking b, with a sporting outline and who moved out with a good stride. Excellent double coat and very good tail. Is balanced in front and rear angles and sound away and back. 2 Rufus The Best. Stronger type of d with a masculine head. Produces a sound action on the move with good footfall. Has a strong topline and good coat.
L (6,1) 1 Dandyhow Postman Pat. Very good type to this powerful d who is very good on the move with an enduring sound stride. Stands on great sound legs and has very good feet. Well ribbed back and strong in topline. Tail is well set and shaped, and coat in great order. Extremely well muscled behind he is obviously afforded plenty of exercise. Spannable, and in first class order all through. RBoB. 2 Rufus The Best.
O (8,5) 1 Dassett Igglepiggle JW. Smart well shaped d of good make shape and type. Liked his ottery head and kind expression from dark eyes. Strong in neck and topline with well set and shaped tail. Well ribbed back he has strength in loin. Balance in angles fore and aft, he stands on good feet. Makes great use of himself on the move producing a long sound easy stride. BoB. 2 Ch Dandyhow Pandora. One I have admired and it was a pleasure to judge her. Appeals instantly for overall type and balance, and can free stand easily to show off her many attributes with ease. Super head and eye, neat small ears, strong neck and topline. Moved out with drive from low hocks.
AVNSC Terrier
L (1) 1 Jolihem Lene Joe Badger. Sealyham who didn’t really want to put on a good show or co-operate with his handler today. Long head and has strength in jaw. Has length of body and rib. Well set tail. Feet rather flat.
O (2) 1 Bettyhill New Kid In Town. Smashing DDT with lots of breed attributes to appraise. Beautiful head with big clean dark expressive eyes, and well set ears. Has length and strength in jaw. Uses his excellent construction to best advantage on the move producing a lively and powerful stride and good ground coverage. 2 Kenaiteen Cascade. Sealyham. Moved out with soundness and precision. Moderately angled at both ends. Has dark expressive eyes and well set ears. A little bit weak in topline today.
Portuguese Podengo
P (5,1) 1 Plushcourt Leprachaun. Stood out in this class for his type, and whilst he was a little overawaed by the situation, I later learned that it was his first show, he did enough to claim the class. Lovely shape to head with characteristic wedge shape and good big ears. Strong in neck and topline. Good ribbing and strong loin leading to very well muscled hindquarters. Time and experience will only improve him even more, what a great prospect! BP. 2 Belfalas Ladytron. A little more up on the leg than 1 at this stage in her growth, and needs to come up in croup a touch. Wasn’t the most confident and handler could do with learning to work better with her. Scores in ear shape and eye colour and size and strength in topline.
SY (3) 1 Plushcourt Gospel Truth. Not the most confident but this chap really appealed to me and has lots of potential so I hope that can be realised in the ring as he matures. Lovely headed with dark expressive eyes, and a hint of mischief! Excellent to go ober as everything fits together so well. Beautifully constructed and presented in first class order, one to watch in the future for sure. RBoB. 2 Plushcourt Pearl. Not so confident on the move at the moment, but good to handle on the table. Another who appeals in head, with well shaped and set ears and eyes. Has a strong topline and moderate forechest. Well balanced all through. 3 Belfalas Chance Meeting.
L (4,2) 1 Plushcourt Gloriana at Belfalas. Great body and super condition on this exhibit. Has good length of rib and body, and strong topline. Little erratic in front action coming towards today, so needs to settle in that respect, but drives out well from the rear. 2 Plushcourt Good Golly. Gained confidence as the class went on, but just not quite the body condition of 1 today. Has a super back end with correct moderation of hind angles which she uses to best effect on the move.
O (4) A good class, all of lovely type. 1 Plushcourt Bear Witness. Small but shapely, very sound and with everything in the right place. He has a lovely headpiece with plenty of work, dark clean eyes, and large ears which he uses well. Balance in angulation fore and aft, he impressed me on the move as he produces a sound and accurate action with swiftness of foot and agility in action. In very good coat and condition, BoB. 2 Plushcourt Guessing. Larger b but shapely and impressive in her general outlook and balance, with typical outline. Lovely headed with beautiful eyes and correct ears. Has a very happy temperament and really moved out well.
Retriever (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling)
P (2) 1 Flavour of Tokaj Aszu Suchy Las Vegas to Tivalake. Really liked this very soundly made well balanced youngster as I found her to be extremely typical and correct all through. Excellent head with well set ear and eye, and useful length of muzzle. Strong neck and topline with great ribbing. Her balance of angulation produced a strong and sound action away and back and she holds her outline so well on the go around. An exciting prospect but I don’t envy the judges who have to write that lengthy name on the big green cards! Good luck for the future, BP & RBoB. 2 Coedhelyg Thimbleberry. Smaller make and shape than 1 and not so forward in development at this stage. Has a lovely front assembly and very strong rear quarters, and all of the essentials you would want.
SY (4) 1 Flavour of Tokaj Aszu Suchy Las Vegas to Tivalake. 2 Tollisty Raudr. Well grown male with active disposition and great character! Liked his masculine clean head and useful length of jaw. Strong in neck and firm topline with well set on tail. Deep in brisket and well ribbed back. Needs time to fill in and mature fully to really complete the picture.
L (5,1) 1 Tollisty You Can’t Decline. A very decent honest make and shape with typical balanced outline. Grand head and expression. Well laid shoulders. Strong in topline and well set tail. Straight strong limbs with good bone. Moved out very well with drive. 2 Tollekin Dream Dancer. A very good moved who uses herself to best advantage on the move. Close up to the winner and with lots of appraise, just not quite the layback of shoulder. 3 Tollisty Couldn’t Careless.
O (3) 1 Ch Tollekin Caife Americano. Really smart upstanding sort of grand type. Appeals all through – balance, soundness, honesty. Stands well over his ground on an excellent front with good depth. Firm strong topline held well standing and moving. Great quarters with well turned stifles and good development of first and second thigh. Straight low hocks are used to advantage on the move. BoB. 2 Sh Ch Tollekin Caife Gaelach at Tollisty. I now see she is litter sister to 1, so not a surprise that I really liked her and found her to be very close up to her brother. All of the same comments apply to her as she is also superbly made and of great type, however she was just carrying a little extra weight over the shoulder today. Credit to their breeders and owners for producing these two lovely examples. 3 Tivalake Anything Goes at Tollisty.
AV Terrier
P (8,3) 1 Est Atiam Novus Angelus Mit Wendaire. Upstanding and imposing Airedale with grand clean outline. A very good mover with soundness in stride from strong straight limbs. Well muscled and handled very well. 2 Blazinbullys Watchman. This exhibit was extremely fit and presented in first class order with lots to like. Well handled to get the best. Shapely head and clean eyes, strong dry neck and super topline. 3 Sikaistaff Lil Monster at Kamiflo.
SY (3) 1 Blazinbullys Watchman. 2 Llyunamill Domino Dancing. Decent length of head on this SFT with enough strength in jaw. Well bodied, straight front, active mover. 3 Llyunamill Prima Donner.
L (2) 1 Sikaistaff All of Me at Kamiflo. Shapely SBT presented in first class order. Well developed head and cheeks with clean dark eye. Very feminine all through but with great strength and good substance. In excellent coat and skin and very well muscled. Great mover. 2 Jackopeaks This Is Me. Smooth coated JRT with a nice head and good strong jaw. Excellent topline and tailset. Super quarters which were well muscled.
O (1) 1 Blazingjacks Best Mate with Jackopeaks. Smartly shaped well made JRT. Enough head and with good dark clean eye. Great coat and skin. Very sound mover with particularly good drive from low hocks and well muscled quarters.
SpV (7-9 years) (4,3) 1 Riplington Dream Image. Not to the most enthusiastic terrier today. Clean eye and well set ear. Good balance. Moved with enough accuracy of footfall but lacked the drive and verve.
SpV (10+) (2) 1 Holbam Celtic Kate. Great shape on this Irish Terrier who is super for her age, and has lovely big clean teeth! Long in head and with the typical racy outline and cleanness of neck and topline. Very well muscled and moved out particularly well to take Best Veteran. 2 Kinnuva Siam Jewel. Very well presented Bedlington with great coat, and in super muscle. Lovely head and eye, good jaw, strong neck. Moved well.
SpB (6,1) 1 Sikaistaff All of Me at Kamiflo. 2 Squidlyannes Dreamer. Substantial Bedlington of strong make and shape. Very well presented and in great coat and muscle. Moved out with drive.
