Scottish Great Dane Club

Scottish Great Dane Club Open Show

Sunday 9 June 2024

Thank you very much to the committee of this Club for inviting me to judge their wonderful breed which I greatly admire, and to the generous exhibitors who accepted me as a replacement judge. I hope the original judge is back to full health soon.

PD (2)

1 Allours Brave Heart. Very strong headed youngster with a little too much flew for balance of head proportions. Has good neck body, strong in topline and very well muscled for his age. Shows confidence on the move.

2 Tayhamblue One Man Can Claim. Seven months in superb condition with a grand outline, but just a little less mature in body than first at present Has an excellent topline with strength and was presented in super condition.

PGD (2,1)

1 Spirit Son. Well conditioned male who was good to go over and displayed an even temperament. He has good width of thigh, and stands on good feet. Moved well enough but needs to come together a bit and get his head a little more focused on the job.

LD (4,1)

1 Lomondane Dinnae Bother. This male won the class for his soundness of movement and ease of action. Has moderation and his angulation fore and after produce a neat balanced picture without exaggeration. Clean in neck and throat. He is strong in top line with well developed croup and correct set on tail. In fantastic muscular order and standing on very good feet. Handled very well.

2 Chanoz Tailor Made for Lambrini (Imp USA). Good head shape on this meal, however, would prefer better eyes. He is just a little long in the loin which showed in his topline when stacked up. Has a decent lay of shoulder and is soundly made behind. Well muscled and moved out with drive from strong low hocks.

SpOD (Blue/Black) (4,1)

1 Elitedaimose Magick Mago at Chateaudain. This sound and honest blue headed up this class and won it on overall strength, construction, and balance throughout. Has a good head shape and well set ear, arch of neck and strong top line but is a shade long in the loin. Strong and quarters with low hocks. Handler tends to overstretch him a little which unbalances the picture on the stack. Moved out well to take the win here. RBD.

2 Allours Brave Heart. 3 Allours Bonito.

SpOD (Harlequin/Mantle) (2)

1 Chanoz Tailor Made for Lambrini (Imp USA). 2 Spirit Son.

OD (3,1)

1 Lomondane Chuffed Tae Bits. Nicely shaped head with masculinity, well, set ears, clean eyes, and strength in jaw. Has length, strength and cleanness of neck, which flows into well placed shoulders, and has a good development of fore chest. Well ribbed back which gives him strength and top line. He has well muscle loins and good development of first and second thigh. A sound mover away and back. Has good carriage and I liked his elegant and upstanding stature. BD & BOSIS.

2 Keishant Zeus. A little rounded in skull compared to the winner, his head has good depth and enough flew. Has very prominent fore chest and a lot of depth in body. Well ribbed back. this dog has good width of thigh. Tended to be just a little wide moving behind today.

PB (4,2)

1 Roucandane Cyclone. Tender in years, and naturally immature at present, but highly captivating! This elegant, feminine young lady has lots of promise. Grand, strong neck, giving super carriage. Balanced in forehand and hindquarter angulations and showing balance in growth. Has quality bone and strong feet and pasterns already. Well developed in rib. She should have an exciting future. BPIS.

2 Kaallana Jawska Seraphina. Lovely temperament on this black who is very outgoing for her age. Good head shape which needs time to fill and develop, and she needs a little time to firm up in topline. Good bone and standing on well arched feet. Moved out well.

PGB (2)

1 Tayhamblue From This Moment at Karnduke. Very well muscled blue who stands on good feet and has strong pasterns.. Good clean eyes. Moved out quite well however, she tends to roach and tense her top line when stood; she needs to settle to the job which will come with time.

LB (4)

1 Garsak Fire and Ice. I thought this was quite an exciting bitch however she wasn’t really bringing her A-game to the party today and seemed a bit distracted by everything going on. She has a super outline; beautiful head with classic expression. Correctly arch neck giving the desired head carriage. She has strength in top line from her long ribs. Well laid shoulder and useful return of upper arm are used to advantage on the move. Has Balance of hindquarter angulation with well-developed first and second thigh and low hocks. Move a little radically at first, but settled down eventually to win the class.. With maturity and understanding of her job I am sure she will go into great things as she is top quality. RBB, RBIS.

2 Culseandanes Janet Weiss. This is another good bitch. She has a very good outline however today she was tending to tense her top line a little when on the move. Has a well laid shoulder and grand depth of chest, at the rear she has good width of thigh. Liked her head and dark eye. Presented in good order.

SpOB (Fawn/Brindle)

1 Keishant Athena. Quite a compact outline on this lady who has elegance all through. She has a reachy neck and good top line. Good shape and balance to head with clean dark eyes. She stands on decent feet and is well muscle. Handler needs to get to grips with her on the stack.

2 Lomondane Ca Canny at Eildane. A little less work in the head of this bitch, compared to the winner , but another with well-developed for chest and good muscle tone. Not quite the shoulder placement of one which showed in her front action on the move.

SpOB (Blue/Black)

1 Tayhamblue From This Moment at Karnduke. 2 Kaallana Jawska Seraphina. 3 Allours La Belle.

SpOB (Harlequin/Mantle)

1 Lambrini Diamonds N’rust (AI). Well, please shoulders on this well boned bitch who has good strength all through, and well angled and muscled quarters. A little small in eye for my preference and just a touch long in loin. Moved with great attitude.

OB (3)

1 Roucandane Summer Breeze. Most shapely elegant outline on this well constructed b. Sores in forehand construction and overall balance. Grand head and expression, with clean eyes and length of skull and foreface. Great to go over as she is an immaculate order and everything fits together very neatly indeed. Well handled to get the best from her she produced a sound and accurate action on the move. Perhaps not the biggest, but her attitude is great and has the combination of strength with elegance the required grace and upstanding carriage. BB & BIS.

2 Keishant Venus. This lady has a good outline, however not quite so accurate in footfall moving away and back as the winner today. This bitch is strong in top line with good quality bone and feet. She has dark expressive eyes and was presented in good condition and well handled to show her virtues.
