Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at this bustling, well-attended show. There was a fantastic entry across the board, and a brilliant atmosphere all day.

Bracco Italiano

A great entry full of quality, thank you all for coming!

P (5,4) 1 Inspirations Lorenza Primavera. Quality youngster with great outline and shape. Lovely headpiece of balance with large open nose. Well set and shaped ears. Strong in neck and topline, and already well developed in ribbing. Has strength of bone and a good length of leg to give ideal proportions. Stands on well shaped feet and moved out with confidence and a strong driving action. An exciting prospect for the future. BP.

PG (4,1) 1 Gunsyn Hotrod at Rydonmist. Upstanding male of great quality all through, and an imposing near-square outline. Grand head with expressive eyes, big nose, and well developed muzzle with lean cheeks. Strong neck of good length leads to well laid shoulders and on in to a firm topline and strong loins. Has both depth and length of rib, with well developed forechest. Strong and wide in the quarters with excellent development of first and second thigh. Stands on tight well maintained feet. Moved out particularly well – whilst some didn’t cope with the floor surface today, this chap did and he produced an unmated long even stride on the go around. BoB. 2 Atos. Shapely male of smaller frame than 1 and not quite the masculinity. In great condition in terms of body and muscle, and was very good to go over as all parts flow together very nicely. Has balance of angles for and aft, and well developed ribs. Strong quarters and low hocks. Didn’t put on the best performance today as he didn’t like the floor surface sadly. 3 Titano Della Casa Di Lombardo.

O (8,2) 1 Enfindrew Kinky Reggae. Sweet headed b coming up four years and reaching the peak of maturity. Liked her to go over as all parts come together as one, typical in outline and sound in body. Has useful length of muzzle, well set and shaped eyes and ears. Good in neck and topline and has length of rib with strong loin. Tail well set on and quarters well developed with low hocks. Feet could be better. A very happy and confident mover, RBoB. 2 Grafskoe Gnezdo Arlo. Another decent sort with overall typical outline and well made at both ends. Excellent bone and substance, masculine but nothing to excess or overdone. Another who put on a good show on the move and really used his construction to best advantage to produce a sound long stride. Well muscled. 3 Allegro Nord Bohemia Sheram.

Spaniel (English Springer)

P (1) 1 Plaiglen One Last Time. Was really taken with this charismatic youngster who appealed in all departments. Despite her young age she is very together and goes so well! Lovely headpiece which will continue to improve with maturity. Well set long ears. Scores in placement of shoulder given her a long clean neck and smooth junction into strong topline. Already well developed in forechest and ribbing. Well made strong quarters complete the picture. A super mover as one would expect. One to watch! BP.

J (2) 1 Kingsheat Moon Dance at Freworth. Large framed b&w with upstanding appearance. Has length of muzzle and well shaped and set eyes and ears. Strong neck, firm in topline and has length of rib. Deep in forechest with plenty of heart room. Well boned and in really fit hard condition. 2 Dexbenella Dream of Dreams. Very pretty headed b with lots to like, however she wasn’t as settled to the job as 1 today sadly. She is balanced in her construction and well made, however didn’t want to make best use of herself on the move which cost her the class today.

PG (3,2) 1 Chanangel When You Believe at Shersona. Decent headpiece on this well coated and nicely presented two year old. Liked her head and eye, with well set long ears. Strong in topline with ribs extending well back. Has development of forechest and strong straight limbs. Has strength in quarters with low hocks. Moved out to advantage and stands on good feet.

O (5,2) 1 Sh Ch Trimere Time Flys. What a beauty, really appealing all through for type, soundness, presentation and temperament. Beautiful headed b with balance of skull and foreface, plenty of work, and dark eyes. Lovely length to neck leading cleanly into well placed shoulders. Has depth of forechest and length and spring in rib. Strong in topline and loin leading on to well angle and muscled quarters. The whole picture is of balance, moderation, and femininity throughout. Beautifully presented in gleaming coat, perfect body condition and hard muscle. Handled wonderfully to get the best from her today too. BoB with a bit to spare today and I was thrilled to hear her later go BIS under Emma Archibald. 2 Greg De Les Tres Llacunes. A very decent honest sort who is well balanced and nicely made all through. Lovely headpiece with masculinity but not excess. Scores in balance of his moderate construction with soundness and quality bone throughout. In good coat and well muscled. RBoB. 3 Dexbenella Fenella at Shersona.

Spaniel (Field)

P What a lovely class of promising youngsters, each with many breed attributes and lots of positives to appraise. 1 Fecimus Never Ending Story. Shapely black with clean typical outline and quality all through. Lovely head of good length and balance, well placed shoulders and already well developed and long in rib. Well muscled quarters with low hocks were used to great advantage on the move. Very promising indeed! BP & RBoB. 2 Killara’s Pass The Crown at Elgert. Another of super type with a really well developed body and good strong ribcage. Excellent topline held when standing and moving. Has confidence of temperament which is brought out in an easy true action on the move. 3 Heartwood Mishules All Is Possible with Calico.

J (3) 1 Killara’s Pass The Crown at Elgert. 2 Feciums Never Look Back. Another youngster with an appealing outline and lots of potential so it’s not surprising to find this is the littermate to the P class winner. This b quite isn’t quite so forward in development as her brother at the moment on the move, but has lots of potential. Presented in first class order too. 3 Heartwood Mishules All Is Possible with Calico.

PG (1) 1 Heartwood Mishules Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Well grown chap of size and with masculine outlook. Well shaped head of good proportions and kindly expression. Carrying plenty of condition today which rather hampered his movement. Coat could be better.

O (5,2) 1 Sh Ch Elgert Lady Sta’dust. What a super example who was a joy to go over. Presents a picture of elegance and femininity with true noble outlook. Beautiful head with length and balance, plenty of work, and dark expressive eyes. Strong in neck and has the best of shoulder placement. Flows perfectly from head through the topline to tail. Deep and long in rib with strong level topline, which she holds perfectly both standing and moving. Has balance of hindquarter angulation with well let down hock and conditioned first and second thigh muscles. Stands on great feet. In immaculate order, gleaming condition, unexaggerated coat, and to top it all off has lovely confidence of temperament. BoB. 2 Fecimus Son of a Gun. Good outline on this young d, but needs to settle to examination better. Presented a very typical outline with strength and balance throughout. Well bodied he was presented in first class order. Moved out very well and has correct footfall away and back. 3 Broomece Fire Cracker Over Mishules.

YKC Handling

6-11 Years (5,1) 1 Daisy Bray. Attentive and clever young handler who had a great rapport with her charge and excellent manners towards me as a judge. Did very well to bear in mind her placement between dog and judge at all times and undertook all motions asked for with accuracy. 2 Holly Whitehead. A really good job from this handler with a more challenging breed, she worked really well with her dog indeed and their relationship was a joy to watch. Movements were all pretty good, but this handlers lovely attitude with her charge must be particularly praised. 3 Emily Windler. Handled her Red and White very well indeed, just needs to sharpen up on the triangle turns for perfection.

12-24 (4,2) 1 Olivia Cogan. A flawless round from this sharp and slick handler who worked so well with her GSP. Lovely relationship between the two of them, working together at all times. Excellent stacking and movement patterns, with consideration for the judge – and her dog – at all times. First class handling. 2 Jack Greenacre. This handler had a more difficult dog but did his very best to get the best from the dog at all times, working patiently and calmly which must be commended. Needs a little more practice in watching where the judge is and not getting between the judge and dog, but otherwise a lovely handler working very nicely with their dog.

Gill Lewis MP Stakes (30, 15) 1 Joneva Just One Wish. Shapely feminine young pointer who flows in outline. Ultra feminine head with good eyes and dark pigment. Clean in neck and shoulder with strength in topline and good ribbing already. Well developed in quarters. Handled to get the very best from her, moved out with confidence. 2 Sharnphilly Annie Mac. Elegant feminine young Weimaraner of top quality. Well bodied and with good bone. Has excellent length of rib. Well developed in hindquarters she moved out so well. 3 Kedalita Steptoe and Son.

Jean Allen Puppy Stakes (21, 10) 1 Tequesta Poldark. Smart young GSP with very typical outline. Balanced and moderate all through with great quality. Lovely shaped head with keen eye. Excellent shoulder placement gives rise to his strong arched neck. Well developed in forechest and ribbing already. Strong in loin and with well developed and muscled quarters. Stands on the best of feet. Moved out just as one would expect, with perfect footfall. Presented in immaculate order. One to watch! 2 Rommy De Ubbadat. Shapely SWD of good type and presented in good coat and condition. Nicely balance head with strength in muzzle. Balance in construction fore and aft and well conditioned in body. Nicely handled. 3 Ansona Chico.
