Dogue De Bordeaux

Open (3)

1st Kenyon’s REGALROGUE’S OPULENCE FOR DEQUIRE - As soon as she walked in the ring, I couldn't wait to go over her and she didn't disappoint. A substantial top size bitch with strong yet feminine head with broad skull, not overdone in wrinkle, lovely ears which are set well, clean and well shaped eyes showing no haw. Strong neck sat on a well laid-back shoulder with a nice return of upper arm onto strong muscular legs with compact feet. Strong loin and a nicely moulded croup with a good tail set. Rear is well constructed with good turn of stifle and well muscled first and second thigh, this allowed her to move with ease as she dropped her head on the move presenting the correct topline allowing her to reach and drive. Well covered with a good coat of rich colour. Best of Breed.

2nd Kenyon’s BISCAY WINSTON FOR DESQUIRE JW - Stockier male with good substance and gorgeous feet; lighter in colour than first with a small bit of white over the chest. Strong head but not overly done, clear eyes and well placed ears, nice fill to cheek with good chin. Balanced male overall with decent front angles and nice coupling with balanced rear. He uses everything he has and covers the ground well although a touch close behind, on the day he carried his tail over on the move. Carrying a little bit of weight over the shoulders. Free stood well and was straight in front showing a nice chest development.

3rd Reilly’s KENSEQUI CUCKOO

ROTTWEILER

Junior (1)

1st Simpson’s ROMINJAY’S I’M ON FIRE - 16 month medium sized eye catching bitch with substance that is within keep of her size. Head of nice shape, ears of good size fitting close to well filled cheeks, eyes are a little round but of good colour. Still a little bit raw in body but has the correct weight on her at present; she has a nicely put together front which was used well on the move although slightly 10 to 2 on the stand which will straighten when chest broadens. Topline level and has a good undercarriage for a young bitch, onto a pleasing croup with a good tail set and carriage. Rear angulation balanced and is shown as she drives through well on the move. Liked her profile in stance and on the move, she was slightly erratic due to giddiness on the to and from but soundness could be seen. Looking forward to seeing her mature as I feel she is one to watch.

Post Graduate (1)

1st Bennett’s JANTAVIA REBEL REBEL - 2 year old nice sized male with good length of leg who is still maturing. He has a good head with nice length of muzzle and correct stop; dark almond shaped eyes with nice fill to cheek, ears on the smaller side but set well. Has a good length of neck that blends onto a strong level topline, balanced front assembly which he used well on the move. Well put together rear angulation that allowed him to drive through well, stood on compact feet. He moved sound in all directions and was attentive to his handler at all times.

Limit (4)

Really enjoyed judging this class as all had good qualities and 2nd pushed the 1st so hard.

1st Simpson’s APOCALYPTO FAMBA BY ROMINJAY - Outstanding substantial bitch that really caught my eye; she has a nice broad head with good fill to cheek, nice stop, dark eyes with lovely ear set and carriage. Good strong neck onto a nice a lay of shoulder with good return of upper arm which showed with her reach on the move, clean over shoulder and withers flowing onto a nice topline and a fab undercarriage to match. Correct croup shown with a good tail set and carriage. Rear angles of balanced proportions muscled well throughout showing amazing drive flowing with ease across the ground finished off with lovely compact feet. BOB and pleased to see her take WG2 in a strong group.

2nd Carmichael & Jarvie’s STAIRVALE GISELE - Another lovely bitch with an attractive feminine head, broad skull, correct ears which are carried well, dark eye, strength in muzzle. Strength in neck, good spring of rib and depth of chest, elbows are well let down, nice angle to pastern, stands on compact feet. She is fluent on the move and moves so well with her handler. Super condition throughout with correct markings of rich colour.

3rd Greener’s RHODILEA CELTIC WARRIOR

Open (4)

1st Carmichael & Jarvie’s KAYSHILLBLUE ZEUS OF LORAYLA JW – A well sized male with good substance who I have admired from outside the ring. Lovely rich tan markings. Head is strong, with nice ears, dark eye, strength in muzzle and good fill. He is a well-balanced male where his front and rear construction are mirrored which enable him to move with fluency around the ring where is gait is so pleasing to observe. Chest is deep and roomy; body has good ribs that are well sprung. Stands on gorgeous feet. Topline is good, but felt he was carrying a little bit of weight on the day which went against him in the challenge.

2nd Sobota & Handy’s – VITALPARA AMERICAN DREAM AT BENDRAGO - An oldie of nearly 8yrs but his movement couldn't be knocked. His head is of correct proportions and in keep with his overall size. Very nice length of neck onto a well laid shoulder. Stands straight in front onto compact feet. Body is well developed and overall, he still is in decent condition for his age, a little close moving away which is forgivable. He has the strongest of top lines which never faltered. His profile and side gait were lovely to see.
