LASER Open Show 5/5/24

Firstly, I would like to thank the LASER committee for inviting me to judge at their Open Show and for your hospitality and friendliness. Thank you to all the exhibitors that entered and an extra thank you to those who stayed and allowed me to go over their dogs, all had super temperaments especially as it had been a long day. Overall, I was really pleased with my main winners.

MPD (1)

1st Appasamy’s HANBAR JAPP - Nice sized puppy with good bone, correct markings and of good colour. Pleasing head, larger ears that fit close to cheek with dark but a slightly rounder eye. He has a good length of neck met with a well-made front, straight in front and set on nice compact feet. Good depth of chest which should all broaden as he matures, top line good for age but croup a touch round but extending onto a nice tail. Although he occasionally paced, when he got it right, he moved well and held himself together. Pleased to award him BPD & BPIS

PD (3,2abs)

1st Austen’s AUSRIE’S JABBA THE HUT - Top size male with good head and nice substance throughout. Eyes are a nice size and colour, medium ear that lays close to cheek; tan on the lighter side. Nice depth of brisket and undercarriage with a level topline. Front is balanced and he has a well put together rear, which he uses to his advantage on the move where he moves with a steady gait.

JD (1)

1st Goodban’s SEITTOR MAGIC SPELL WITH KELJAYGO - Smaller sized male but well presented with markings of good colour. Nice head with good ears fit well to cheek, an almond shaped dark eye. Good lay of shoulder with chest that is still a little bit narrow but is still developing. He lowers his head well on the move which enables him to reach out whilst holding a level topline, rear well-muscled and balanced, using this to drive through presenting with a nice powerful side gait. Nice compact feet. Would prefer a better tail carriage. Handled lovely, he was one that I considered for RBD.

YD (2,1abs)

1st Egerton & Sutcliffe’s BEREYDA THE REAL DEFENDER – A top sized male with lovely substance, would prefer smaller markings but they are a nice colour. Head of good size, on the stronger side but he has a lovely ear set and fill to cheek, nice almond shaped dark eyes and broad muzzle. Strong neck onto a nicely balanced front set on compact feet. He has a good depth of brisket, nice undercarriage, a level topline that remains firm throughout his movement, giving him a lovely profile in stance and gait. Correct rear angulation that has smashing muscle development for his age, combined with his front angulation allows him to moved out with good reach and drive covering the ground well where he was sound in all directions. Complimented with a nice tail set and carriage at all times. Pleased to award him BD & RBIS.

PGD (2,1abs)

1st Cock’s Jaqary Blaze of Glory – A lovely medium sized male who is nicely put together, he has good substance throughout and lovely compact feet. Pleasant head with good fill to cheek; nicely set ears and lovely almond shape eyes, nice markings although slightly lighter tan. Well balanced front that is shown on the move where he has good reach and complimented with well-muscled rear angulation. Moves well and displays powerful movement front and rear with a good side gait, on the day his topline wasn’t quite as strong, however he was one that I considered for RBD

LD (5,2 abs)

1st Mason’s ALKIDO’S LUDICROUS - Medium sized male with nice substance throughout. A very attractive head with nice sized ears, nice dark almond shaped eyes, good stop, giving a lovely calm expression. Muscular neck of medium length which leads onto a lovely shoulder placement, with a nice return of upper arm where elbows are well let down and close. Good strong topline with nice undercarriage leading onto a strong coupling with correct tail set. Well angulated rear although slightly more 2nd thigh. He moves with nice reach and drive. Overall, a really nice male who I was pleased to award him RBD.

2nd Moss’ CHANTAVORY’S ONE AND ONLY - A top sized male with plenty of substance, strong head with nice eyes and ears. Muscular neck leading onto a balanced front that he uses in his powerful movement; he seemed a bit heavier on the day which showed with his topline. Croup is moulded, rear angulation is well balanced again but slightly close behind moving away. Lovely tight feet. Correctly marked with gorgeous tan.

OD (0)

VD (4,3 abs) 1st Goodban & Dunhill-Halls’ FANTASA JUST ACE IT WITH KELJAYGO – A smaller male but with correct bone for his size. Markings are slightly lighter tan. Balanced within himself and moved well throughout. Head pleasant even though he has lost a little fill due to age. Nice compact feet still and had a lovely attitude. Handled so well, he really enjoyed himself. BVD

MPB (0)

PB (2,1abs) Johnson’s WEYSABROOK ALL THAT JAZZ – A good sized puppy, pleasant head slightly rounder eye and lighter in colour. Tan is a bit paler than I like. She is a balanced bitch presented in good condition, a little wide in front on the move but clean movement behind. Level and firm topline leading onto a nice tail. BPB.

JB (5, 2abs)

1st Eyre’s CHANTAVORY JE VOUS AMIE – A bitch of good size and substance for her age. Dark markings, very appealing head with nice size ears and dark, almond shaped eyes. Nice length of neck set on a lovely front, where she stands straight in front and complimented with nice feet. Liked her depth of brisket and rib cage development. Moved out well in front and with good drive she demonstrates a lovely powerful gait. Topline is nice and strong. Presented in lovely condition. A well-deserved RBB.

2nd Lambert’s SEITTOR VOODOO SPELL JW – Another lovely bitch whom I have previously judged before and really like her. She has a very nice head, medium ear carried and set correct along with a lovely dark almond shaped eye with correct stop. Overall, a lovely shape, with nice front and rear angulation set on compact feet. Keeps a firm topline at all times with nice croup and a good tail. Moves well although appeared a bit flat today. Lovely markings throughout and presented in great condition.

3rd Cartwright’s STEIGEN SILKY NUTMEG GANASH

YB (3)

1st Lambert’s SEITTOR CAST A SPELL – A lovely bitch with a great head, good stop, medium sized ears laying close to cheek with good fill to cheek and complimented with dark almond shaped eyes. Strong neck leading onto a nice front set on compact feet. Good depth of brisket with a level and firm top line which is maintained at all times. Lovely markings and presented in good condition. Moved well in all directions with good reach and drive, pleased to award her BB & BIS.

2nd Monk’s OLEARIA QUEEN OF HEARTS – A bigger bitch than first with a pleasant head but slightly lighter eye. Front not as good as first but she still uses what she has to move well. She holds a level topline which flows onto a nice croup and good rear angulations. Presented in excellent condition.

3rd Cartwright’s STEIGEN JADA SHADA HUDSON

PGB (3,1abs)

1st Willis-Impey ABACAB’S DUCHESS – Compact bitch of good bone and substance. Plainer in head with correct medium ear but with a slightly round eye. Muscular neck and body with a strong level topline. Balanced front and rear allowing her to move with purpose. Croup well moulded leading onto a nice tail, lovely compact feet. Good markings and coat.

2nd Josalyn’s BUTTONLOVE SANTA BABY - Smaller bitch but nicely put together, unfortunately a little out of condition carrying a little bit of weight on the day this caused her to have rolls over her shoulder. Stronger head but still pleasant. Well-marked throughout. If allowed to move freely she would move quite well as she has balanced angles but unfortunately was held back which caused her to lose her topline and overall shape.

LB (3,3 abs)

OB (2,1 abs)

1st Monk & Jones’ WESTFALEN LOVE BY DESIGN WITH OLEARIA – A finer bitch with very attractive head, a nice almond shaped eye, good stop, medium sized ear set well and carried close to check which has good fill, strong muzzle. She stands well in profile giving a super outline. Her lay of shoulder is good, this leads onto a firm top line, muscular loin and blends well onto a nice croup. Having excellent rear angles gives her powerful drive. Lovely tight feet, correct markings throughout and lovely condition.

VB (1)

1st Moss’ BLUSHING BACARDY AT CHANAVORY – What a lovely substantial bitch in superb condition for her age. She moves with such power, using the muscle and conditioning she still has. Head is pleasing with a smaller ear although carried well and dark rounder eye. Neck is of good length and leads to a nice front. Like her depth of brisket. Topline is held at all times. Good tail set and carriage. Credit goes to her owner for keeping her in tip top condition. BVB & BVIS
