Guildford & District Canine Society

Lagotto Romagnolo

Junior (4): 1 BP & BOB Stephenson’s Made Chianti for Timtaurn (Imp ITA), brown roan bitch, what a cracker, so anatomically sound & balanced, you can glimpse her from across the ring & everything is where it should be. Good size & bone – feminine, pretty head, correct body ratios, excellent angulation, moved with style with good rear pasterns. I watched her in the Groups & she gave a good account of herself, holding her posture – invested in watching everything! Full of quality & must surely have an exciting future, as will her litter sibling in 2 Whitworth’s Mad Max Madiba of Freworth (Imp ITA), orange roan, quite the extrovert, very happy which is lovely to see. Good overall shape & really powerful moving with strength through the rear pasterns which are vertical to the ground. When he matures & also has better steering, he & his sister will be quite the pair in the show ring; 3 DeBlasi’s Mianatra Ever So Elegant.

Post Graduate (3, 1a): 1 RBOB Worrall’s Moonreed Drake, very responsive to handler with a good rapport, stacks well & is nice to go over with good proportions, tidy feet & good curls to coat. Correct bend of stifle & length of second thigh. His tailset & carriage are not perfect but as a whole he is very sound & balanced; 2 DeBlasi’s Mianatra Ever So Epic, just a baby at 8 months & her first show so was a little overwhelmed with the proceedings. Correct through the forequarters, stacks well once settled but needs confidence to display her best.

Open (2, 1a): 1 Worrall’s Gaesten Tatler’s Tezza, feminine brown bitch with a good woolly coat, open nostrils, strong bone through the forequarters, stacks up well with correct rear angles, well handled.

Spaniel (American Cocker)

Junior (1): 1 Weller’s Sabisabi Apache Tonka at Geenawell, well presented red & white male with good coat, excellent open nostrils, correct depth of muzzle, good rear angles & ground covering stride in profile.

Post Graduate (2): 1 BOB & G4 Walden’s Taramount Golden Ticket, two buff siblings in 1 & 2. Well handled, stacks up well with compact body, correct topline, & rear angles. Clean over the neck & shoulders, covered the ground well. Put in a good performance in the Group ring; 2 Tadhunter’s Taramount Pure Imagination, feeling the cold today – bless her, feminine, with good bone for size, correct rear angles. A little heavy over the shoulders at present.

Open (2, 1a): 1 RBOB Kemp’s Arrowbien Ivy Queen, buff bitch, good depth of muzzle, open nostrils, she is nice to go over with good forechest, excellent muscletone through the loin & rear quarters & moved well. Her handler is still learning her craft & does a good job of presenting her – but just needs to keep an eye on her dog’s posture when stacking as it affects her topline.

Spaniel (Sussex)

Junior (1): Halsey’s Eald Ten Bears, cheeky junior male with good strong bone with a real glint in his eye which was lovely to see, a really lovely nature & full of fun. Appealing head, strong through the front quarters, excellent ribbing. When he is settled to the job in hand, will do well - he has time on his side.

O (2): 1 BOB Moon’s Foxhampton Fields Of Gold, smart male, appeals standing, deep chest, excellent topline - level & balanced, he is in good body condition, taut through the loin & rear quarters. Moved well; 2 RBOB Moon’s Deanway Proper Charlie, strong bone – masculine – no doubting his sex, looks good standing in outline, excellent ribbing, in good condition. Preferred the topline of 1 on the move.
