Kent County Canine Association

Retriever (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling)

P (2): 1 BP Smith’s Tollisty Raudr, nearly 12 months, scores both standing & moving, good outline with a level topline & lovely to go over with good ribbing. He is full of joie de vivre & has a good gait on round tidy feet. Litter brother to 2 Strevens’ Tollisty Shincha, nice to go over, clean neck into well laid shoulders, excellent ribbing, good strength through the rear pasterns, preferred the movement of 1.

J (2): T Raudr; 2 T Shincha.

PG (3): 1 RBOB Strevens’ Tollisty You Can’t Decline, very well made, anatomically sound male, correct head shape. Everything faces the right direction, nothing exaggerated, correct bend of stifle, good feathered tail carried well, moved the best in the class. Litter brother to 2 Smith’s Tollisty Couldn’t Careless JW, good body proportions – balanced with corresponding angulation both ends, good depth of brisket, correct bend of stifle, preferred rear pasterns to 3 Ryder’s Arthundur Dream Come True.

O (2): 1 BOB Dorrell’s Tollisty Moet En Chandon JW, masculine boy standing on excellent feet, nice to go over, elbows close to the chest wall, good spring of rib, in good body & coat condition with strength through the loin & muscled quarters. Moved parallel with good strength & tail held well. Handler & dog work well together; 2 Strevens’ Sh Ch Tollelkin Caife Gaelach at Tollisty, stands on lovely round tight feet, feminine, correct shape head, brisket down to elbow, level topline, with good rear angles, very well presented. Preferred the reach of 1 on the move.

Retriever (Golden)

P (6, 2a): A hard class to judge with puppies of varying ages & at different stages of development, some more together at this stage. 1 BP Stallard’s Ballybarkin Jack Daniels at Maplerose, cream dog of 7 months, won the class on movement & is the most together at this stage. Clean neck into well laid shoulders with level topline & correct turn of stifle; 2 Barnes’ Fizoena Sky With Diamonds, well off for bone, pretty head, level topline & good ribbing. Preferred the front angles of 1; 3 Baldwin’s Fizoena Golden Miku.

J (5, 1a): 1 Gayler’s Carolake X’Marks The Spot JW, pretty head golden bitch with kind eye, level topline, good turn of stifle & strength through the rear pasterns & stands on good feet; 2 Todd’s Van Gogh of Sunshine’s Valley with Toddrosa JW (Imp), strong male, solid bone, elbows tight to the chest wall, good rear angulation with strength through the rear pasterns. I think he would benefit from being moved a little quicker to depict length of stride; 3 Pett’s Rumwood Solar Eclipse.

PG (4): 1 BOB Hensen’s Cinderbank Move It JW, very anatomically sound dog, strong, catches your eye on outline with a level topline & balanced angles fore & aft. Good depth of brisket, elbows tight to the chest wall, strong through the body, good rear angles & hocks vertical to the ground. Scores standing & moving, showy attitude, presentation & coat; 2 RBOB Poile’s Thornywait Starshine at Cherrimar, lovely bitch with a pretty head, good strength through the forearms, brisket down to elbow, excellent spring of rib, level topline & well presented; 3 Pett’s Rumwood Three Times A Lady.

O (4): 1 Pounds-Longhurst’s Mossburn Galloping Major JW, male of just over 3 years, stacks up super & has a lovely outline, good bone, appealing head, level topline, correct bend of stifle, good spring of rib, good rear angles. Tail carriage can be a little distracting but as a whole he has many merits; 2 Roper’s Catnnels Inside Story for Brensham SGWC, veteran male in really fine fettle – belies his nearly 9 years. Definitely fit for function & very sound. He also moved well & went with power; 3 Stallard’s Maplerose All Tuckered Out.
