North East Border Collie Club

Special Award Classes

Thank you to the committee for extending this invitation. This show is always a favourite of mine for the friendliness and good atmosphere around the ring. Huge thanks to my efficient (if somewhat overqualified) steward.

Junior Dog or Bitch:

1st) Green and Ratcliffe’s Borderpride Yes I am Fayken.

Pleasing young dog of good shape and type. Moderately built with a good head, correctly set and sensitive ears, correct bite and well-defined stop. Moderately angled front and rear and correct movement away and back, holds topline well.

2nd) Akester, Wiltshire and Aran’s Thwaitlake Keep The Buzz.

A very raw but lovely puppy of strong substance and type. Well-proportioned head with well set and sensitive ears and correct eye shape and colour. Moved very well for his age. A lot to like about this puppy, just needs time to mature and firm up. One to watch.

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch:

1st) Wiltshire and Wiltshire’s Caleykiz Passion For Power

Pretty young bitch of moderate substance, feminine head which she dropped low on the move and correctly set ears, sensitive in use. Correct shape eye. Good length of neck which flow into well laid shoulders. Hindquarters correctly angulated and well-constructed. Excellent body proportions, well-muscled and powered round the ring with minimal lift and free easy movement. Won her class and Best Special Award on her movement.

2nd) Akester, Akester and Wiltshire’s Thwaitlake Turn Back Time

A sweet bitch with a kind expression, feminine head with correct shape eye, and well-set ears. Correct length of neck which leads to well laid-back shoulders. Correct upper arm, hindquarters correctly angulated and well-constructed. Typical, correct breed movement just didn’t have the drive of 1.

Open Dog or Bitch:

1st) Chance’s Goytre Chance To Reflect

A very masculine dog of good substance. Strong head with kind expression, correctly shaped eyes, scissor bite and a distinct stop. Well laidback shoulders, hindquarters correctly angulated and well-constructed. Firm topline, moved freely with drive.

2nd) Smith’s Arrodare Won’t Back Down

More moderate boy than 1, presented in good condition, pleasing head with correctly set and sensitive ears, good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Correct movement, well angulated and well-muscled throughout.

Thanks,

Craig Sloan
