Huntingdonshire Canine Society – Open Show – Saturday 17th August 2024 – Border Collies

Thankyou to the committee for inviting me to judge and to my attentive stewards. Also thankyou to the exhibitors for supporting my first judging appointment. It was a lovely show and i thought that the new showground was excellent.

Class:139 Puppy (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st 318 SPURR – Dreamwork Notorious

B/W Bitch – 6 months, nice head, with a keen and alert expression and attentive to handler. A nice well-proportioned puppy with a smooth outline and balanced in angulation. Showed in good condition. Just needs to settle on the move but that will come with time. RBOB & BPIB.

2nd 320 TANDY, TURNS & DOMOTORI – Borderheart Havana Nights

B/W Male – 11 months, good head with a nice eye and expression. Lovely bond with the handler, I just preferred the overall type and balance of 1st.

Class: 140 Junior (1 Entry)

1st 319 TANDY – Borderbrook Stolen Affair

B/W Male – 14 months – Correct head proportions with a keen and alert expression. Attentive to handler and whilst he was dropping coat he was presented well. Nicely balanced angulation. Needs to settle on the move, which in the challenge he did to be rewarded with BOB.

Class: 141 Post Graduate (1 Entry)

1st TURNS – Fyglia Cherish Mustardseed

B/Merle – 4 years – Nice head and expression. Was enjoying her day out rather a lot which unfortunatly spoilt her on the move.

Class: 142 Open (3 Entries) Abs: 2

1st TURNS – Fyglia Mei Titania

B/Merle – 8 years – Well-proportioned head. Nice reach of neck and parallel in front with good bone. Good condition for age just felt her movement/outline was spoilt by her tail carriage.
