Irish Red And White Club Open Show March 2024.

I thank the exhibitors for their entry & great sportsmanship, also the committee for the invitation to judge the 40th anniversary open show . I throughly enjoyed judging, some super dogs here today and overall quality was excellent. 

Veteran Dog (4,1) Cracking was to start the day with some excellent veteran dogs.  

1st Sh Ch Zendaccric Heart Shaped Box With Visaset, broad skull, clean in muzzle & fairly square, dark round eye, well good stop, moderately long neck in to strong muscular shoulders, deep in rib, balanced rear, lovely oval bone, moved with style and drive. Good topline. Lovely feet, nice coat. 

2nd Roanjora Castelao, Another good honest dog. Moving so well for a 10 year old, Overall great shape, Pleasing head, ears set level with eyes, creating a beautiful expression, neck moderate long with a slight arch. Well laid shoulders, Deep in brisket. Good coat. Excellent oval bone & feet

3rd Corranroo Casper. 

Puppy (3,0) An excellent class, I can now see all brothers, be interesting to see how they all develop.

1st Wards, Roanjora Cremant De Lux Copperwight , Excellent young puppy that just shouts quality, athletic sort, but strong & powerful, he has the most beautiful head, Skull domed, fairly square and clean in muzzle, beautiful round dark eye , good stop, moderate long neck, excellent well laid shoulders, so well ribbed up , balanced rear angles, good top-line, beautiful coat, good tail set , moved well for a youngest , Showing good long free striding gait. True on up & back, Happy to take this one home.

2nd Mc Donalds & Westwoods , Roanjora Crement De Savoie Avec Eustanit. Another nice pup of good quality, brother is just ahead on maturity. He is slightly ‘up on the leg’ currently be interesting to see him grow on . Appealing head In good proportion to his body, fairy square, clean muzzle, Moderately long neck, good shoulder placement. Long from hip to hock, well muscled, hocks well let down. Moved with long effortless driving action. True on the up and back. 

3rd Jones , Roanjora Cremant Bourgogne, Finishing a super trio, just not as mature as his brothers, but a balanced pup, with kind eye. Moved well. 

Junior (2,0) Repeat from Puppy 1st Wards, Roanjora Cremant De Lux Copperwight. 2nd Mc Donalds & Westwoods , Roanjora Crement De Savoie Avec Eustanit.

Graduate (2,0) 

1st Jakins Coolfin Murchard ‘ A nice young dog, athletic in appearance, slightly strong in lip, head in proportion to body, nice stop, good neck to shoulder, with return, deep in brisket, short in loin. Balanced rear angles. Sinewy body, good width to thigh, nice feet, nice coat. 

2nd Robinson Coolfin Red Ken, I loved this young dog but today he was super naughty. Beautiful head, clean muzzle, dark brown round eye, level set ears, good neck into good shoulder placement, deep in rib , well balanced, short in hock, moved ok, good topline, giving handler a hard time, like to see this young dog again with some practice!

1st Catton, Cook & Jakins Coolfin Clancy With Ferngate , Athletic, Strong & Powerful is perfect description of this dog, masculine & broad in head, with good stop, moderate long neck, nice front angles, deep in brisket, lean over the rib, sinewy, short in loin well delevloped rear, width in thigh, short in hock, lovely coat, moved with a long free striding gait. 

2nd Green, Flores Henry Tudor By Viszaset, lovely overall shape, balanced all though, lighter in bone, muscular neck, deep in brisket, lovely top-line & tail set, short in hock, lovely coat, just preferred dome of head of 1st . Personalitly plus!

1st McPherson Roanjora Jacquart With Rokeover, An 6 year old honest dog. Good broad head, good shape eye & colour, ears set level with eye, moderate neck, nice front with depth to brisket, well ribbed, short in loin, balanced rear angles, moved well , Ok feet, well feathered, good oval bone, in lovely coat.

1st Titterton Spyfirre Bobby Dazzler, This is a quality dog; a ‘Bobby dazzler’, the standard calls for happy , good natured & affectionate, he showed all this in abundance! Once settled he is of a super type , gorgeous head & eye, in proportion to his excellent body, skull domed, fairly square and so clean in muzzle. Dark eye, ears set level with ear, quality oval bone, good close knit feet, excellent moderately long neck, shoulders well laided, well ribbed up, built up with muscle and sinew, deep in brisket, balanced rear, wide & powerful, long hock to heal with good muscle, nice tail set, moved with long free striding movement, once settled!!!! Loved him, sure his title wont be far away. BD

2nd Jakins Sh Ch /Int Sh Ch/ Multi Ch Terne Des Chris Qalimero At Coolfin ( Imp Bel) This is a beautiful headed dog, lovely dark eye, ears well placed, lovly side profile to head, clean in muzzle . Well laid shoulders, patterns slightly sloping, good brisket, strong and muscular, slightly longer in body than 1st, balanced well bent stifles, short in hock, moved really well, nice coat. RBD

3rd Catton & Cook Daithi Shadow Dog With Ferngate. Pleasing head, balanced angles, deep in rib, well muscled, short in hock, moved ok. 

Baby Puppy Bitch (3,0) - First time I have judge this class, since being introduced by the RKC, the puppies all super confident and a credit to their owners. 

1st Bayne Settersay Martell By Corranroo - A good overall shape. Balanced head, lovely eye, long neck, balanced front and rear angles, excellent clear pearl markings, moved well for such a baby, showing a promising long striding gait. BBPIS

2nd Jones Settersay Tully Among Laoirebay Another lovely baby, nice head, good shape, well bodied for age. Balanced angles with good width of thigh, moved well.

3rd Callaghan Talintyre Formhar Thyme Via Berryessa , completed a trio of lovley baby puppy britches, pleasing head, lovely coat, moved Ok. 

Veteran Bitch (6,0) Loved seeing a good class of veteran bitches, a credit to owners having them in such good condition.  

1st Walker Sh Ch Zendarric It’s A Kind Of Magic Within Wrexham, quality 8 year old, Super typy, appealing expression, head broad, good stop, clean muzzle. Neck moderaly long, muscular , with slight arched. Shoulders well laid, with balanced rear angles, nice oval bone. Well spring ribs ribs, deep brisket, short hocks, moved well on a long free striding gait.

2nd Barney Romaunt Ain’t Life Grand, Overall an excellent shape, balanced all though, moved with super long , free striding gait, broad in skull, like little more stop, muscular neck, deep chested, well spring ribs, short in hocks.

3rd Mc Donalds Roanjora Montepulciano.

Puppy (2,0) 

1st Mc Donalds Roanjora Cremant D’Alse , A lovely young bitch, excellent shape, good broad head, domed over the skull, enough stop, clean in muzzle, dark brown eye, ears set on low, moderate long neck in to nicely placed shoulders. Good fore chest, good oval bone, with nice feet. Deep in brisket, good underline with balanced rear angles, short in hock. Moved so well for one so young. Will watch with interest. 

2nd Hodgehall The Show Must Go On, Good overall shape, she is finer all through, good head, plenty of stop. Nicely marked, nice coat coming, Good long neck, balanced front and rear angles, good top-line, moved ok but giving handler a hard time. Like to see her once matured

Yearling (2,0)

1st Barney Romaunt Ain’t Misbehaven. Good shape, good head, correct eye & stop, skull domed, lovly moderately long neck, well bodied up, short in loin, well bent stifles with width too thigh, moved well with long stride, short in hock, left her coat at home today.  

2nd Reynolds - Compton , Gillie Hidden Mystique , nice head with plenty of stop, plenty of lip, Balanced all though, depth to brisket. Ok top line, short hocks with nice oval bone, excellent close knit feet, with hair between, moved ok, true on the up & back.  

Graduate (5,1)

1st Newman & Newman Taxis Summer Breeze , she is old school fashioned bitch, strong & powerful , comes across as a good worker type. She has a broad head, nice stop, correct expression, moderate long neck, good front, deep brisket, well ribbed back, short loin, matching rear angles, good topline and tail set, nice coat coming, moved well & consisted her for top honours. 

2nd. Jakins is Coolfin Ailbhe 3 year old raw bitch, who needs to body up, slightly strong in head for me, but moderately long neck, good angles, ribbed well back, balanced rear angles, moved well, with excellent reach and drive.

1st Hodgetts Alanga Obession Of Hodgehall lovly shape, pleasing head, good dark brown eye,good stop, domed skull, moderate long neck, nice front angels, deep in brisket, short loin, lovly underline, balanced rear angles, long from hip to hock, good tail set, ok feet, moved so well, shoe driving effortlessly movement .

1st Barney Ambancy This Is Me, this bitch ticked all the boxes for me today, fully of quality, athletic in appearance, overall an excellent shape, balanced, moved beautiful. Her beautiful head, is broad, good dome , fairly square, clean in muzzle. Ears set level & close. Neck is slightly arched moderately long, set in to best of shoulders, with good return, deep in brisket, forechest showing, well spring ribs, covered in muscle & sinew , with good strong top-line, balance rear angles, which are long hip to hock, lovely oval bone, moved effortless & free , covering good ground, excellent example of the breed. Title shouldn’t be far away. BB & BIS. 

Open (2,0)

1st McDonalds Roanjora Rioja Crianze, excellent shaped bitch, broad in skull, good eye, like little more stop, clean in muzzle which is fairly square. Moderately long neck set in to well placed shoulders, deep chest, well ribbed back another covered well in muscle & sinew, super rear angles, short in hock, moved with long free striding gait. Pushed hard and had to settle for RBB.

2nd Burgess Settersay Scorcher Via Tymaran, stronger headed bitch, broad in skull, eye a little to prominent. Good front angles, deep in chest, short in loin. Matching rear

angles, short in hock, good top-line once settled, nice coat, lovely feet, with feather between toes.

1st Roanjora - two well matched exhibits, moving as one.
