Pennines Bulldog Club Open Show – 03.11.2024

I would like to thank the Committee of the Pennines Bulldog Club for the invitation to judge this Open Show. I was supported by all their team on the day but special thanks go to Dave Rodgers for keeping the ring running smoothly.

Thank you to the exhibitors for on the whole accepting placings graciously. It was an honour to go over your dogs. I found the overall presentation and quality of dogs excellent although I do feel we are losing a nice wide jaw but overall the health of the exhibits for me was excellent. I had some difficult decisions to make and on another day some could change places. Congratulations to all owners.

Class 1 – Minor Puppy Dog – (4 entries, 1 absent)

1. Allen – Jabrybull Valentino Rossia At Rattray

8 month old. White and Red. Flat skull with fine wrinkle. Dark clear eyes. Good black nose and open nostrils. Good width of jaw with good upsweep and correct dentition. Correct shoulder placement leading to straight well boned forelegs. Slightly longer in loin with good rib, tail placement and set. Held topline on the move and moved well.

2. Evison – Kikuchi Yogi Bear

8 month old. Red. Flat skull with fine wrinkle. Correct thin ears and placement. Clear dark eyes. Good open dark nostrils. Good dentition. Moved well.

Class 2 – Puppy Dog – (6 entries, 2 absent)

1. Saafan – Geovanic Cupids Arrow

11 month old. White. Lovely flat skull with well placed ears. Clear dark eyes. Large open nostrils. Straight dentition and good width of jaw. Correct shoulder placement leading to deep brisket and straight well boned forelegs. Neat feet. Good rib and tuck up. Lovely tail set and free moving tail. Correct topline which he held on the move. Very good movement. BPD.

2. Cradock – Maserati Impire Victory at Suluma

11 month old. White. Again another quality puppy dog. Lovely flat skull. Dark clear eyes. Very good forechest and topline. Preferred the movement of 1.

Class 3 – Junior Dog – (2 entries, 0 absent)

1. Peebles & Kirkwood - Weebullz Parabellum

16 month old. White and red. Nice flat skull with correct ear placement. Dark clear eyes. Well placed dark nose and open nostrils. Good reach of neck. Good dentition and straight jaw. Slightly longer in body. Good tail set. Moved very well.

2. Fisher - Waneta Boris

16 month old. Flat skull with correct ear placement. More wrinkle in head than 1. Dark clear eyes. Good open dark nostrils. Good shoulder placement with deep forechest. Moved very well.

Class 4 – Novice Dog – (4 entries, 2 absent)

1. Avison & Ainsworth – Souterbull Walk The Line At Boltonbully

16 month old. Brindle and white. Flat skull with light wrinkle. Clear dark eyes. Correct nose placement and open nostrils. Well tacked on shoulders leading to well boned forelegs and neat feet. Good dentition with wide jaw. Slightly longer in loin but leading to well placed tail and set. Moved well.

2. Munro – Smoochabull Out Of Time At Dreadgod

14 month old. Brindle. Another quality dog, larger than 1. Flat skull with correct ear placement. Well tacked on shoulder leading to well boned forelegs and neat feet. Good dark nose and open nostrils.

Class 5 – Post Graduate Dog – (2 entries, 2 absent)

Class 6 – Limit Dog – (6 entries, 3 absent)

1. Bannister – Andlare Razzmatazz

2 years old. Red and white. This boy caught my eye as he came into the ring. Lovely flat skull with adequate wrinkle. Correct ear placement. Dark clear round eyes. Correct dentition and width of jaw with upsweep. Dark open nostrils. Lovely shoulder placement with deep forechest and deep brisket. Well boned straight forelegs leading to neat feet. Correct topline which was held on the move. Good tail and set. Movement was excellent with the typical bulldog roll on moving away. Presented in excellent condition. Delighted to award him BD and BIS.

2. Stothard – Bruno At Carrnaze Bright Diamond (IMP CZE)

4 ½ years old. Another quality boy that I have watched mature nicely. Flat skull with fine wrinkle and correctly placed ears. Clear dark eyes. Dark nose with open nostrils. Longer in body than 1 but had lovely topline which he held on the move. Unfortunate to come up against 1 today.

Class 7 – Open Dog – (5 entries, 3 absent)

1. Rey & Ribas – Major Bulldogs N’Billionaire Boy (ATC BB82479ESP)

17 month old. Red and White. Flat skull with correct ear placement. Very good dentition, width of jaw and upsweep. Dark tight clear eyes. Lovely shoulder placement and well boned forelegs. Well let down brisket. Correct topline, tail and set. Moved well. Pushed hard. RBD.

2. Reynolds – Montifiero I’m Nobleman At Gratiabull (IMP SRB)

2 ½ year old. Red and White. Slightly larger overall than 1. Flat skull. Dark clear eyes. Correct ear placement. Lovely shoulder placement, well boned forelegs and deep brisket.

Class 8 – Veteran – (3 entries, 1 absent)

1. Bannister – CH Andlare Okey Dokey

8 years old. Red and White. Presented in excellent condition for a veteran. Lovely flat skull with correct ear placement. Dark clear eyes. Good width of jaw. Lovely front with deep forechest and well boned legs leading to neat feet. Correct topline. Correct tail set. Movement very good. Delighted to award him BVIS.

2. Dean – Hawksbulls Quinn At Bullmarina.

Another quality Veteran presented in excellent condition. 7 ½ years old. Slightly bigger than 1. Flat skull with correct ear placement. Clear dark eyes. Dark nose and good nostrils. Correct tail and set. Movement good but preferred 1.

I must applaud both these Veterans. They were both presented in excellent condition for their ages and both showed they still loved the show ring. It was a pleasure to go over them.

Class 9 – Minor Puppy Bitch – (4 entries, 2 absent)

1. Rose – Jackarhys Eclipse Rosebull NAF

6 month old. White. Flat skull with correct placed ears. Clear dark eyes. Correct shoulder placement. Neat feet. Good topline leading to correct tail and set. Held topline on the move. Very feminine. One to watch mature.

2. Morris – Ragmarte’s Tickety Boo

Red and white. 7 ½ month old. Slightly larger overall than one. Flat skull with correct ear placement and thin ears. Clear dark eyes. Correct shoulder placement leading to well boned legs and neat feet. Good tail and set.

Class 10 – Puppy Bitch – (5 entries, 3 absent)

1. Kent – Andlare Summer Surprise At Unverdadero

11 month old. White / Red. One that caught my eye as she entered the ring. Flat skull with correct ear placement. Fine wrinkle. Dark clear eyes. Open nostrils. Correct shoulder placement leading to well boned legs and neat feet. Correct topline with correct tail and set and good tuck up. Moved very well and held topline on the move. Pushed hard for BB but delighted to award her RBB, BPB and BPIS.

2. Shaw – Andlare Gee Wizz for Arrenica

11 month old. Another quality girl. White / Red. Flat skull with good ear placement. Clear dark eyes. Well placed shoulders leading to lovely square front and neat feet. Correct tail and set. Moved well. Preferred topline and movement of one but was a hard class. Could change places on another day.

Class 11 – Junior Bitch – (2 entries, 1 absent)

1. Downs – Fortis Acquiesce 

16 month old. R/W. Flat skull with correct thin ear placement. Dark, clear eyes. Correct shoulder placement, good bone to neat feet. Good tuck up. Moved very well and held topline on the move.

Class 12 – Novice Bitch – (5 entries, 1 absent)

1. Gepp-Cox – Iceglint I;m Mimi Rose Bemojo

23 months. R/W. Flat skull with clear eyes. Sour expression. Good width of jaw. Dark, large open nostrils. Good reach of neck. Good shoulder placement with well boned forelegs leading to neat feet. Free moving tail. Moved well.

2. Bannister – Andlare Miss Fit

23 months. R/W. Flat skull with correct ear placement. Clear eyes. Dark nose with open nostrils. Correct topline with good tail set. Good shoulder placement. Neat feet. Moved well.

Class 13 – Post Graduate Bitch – (3 entries, 1 absent)

1. Minto – Kenzduo American Pie

Another quality bitch that has caught my eye from ringside. R/W. Lovely flat skull with fine wrinkle. Clear dark round eyes. Dark nose with open nostrils. Correct topline leading to good tail and set. Good rib and tuck up. Moved very well and pushed hard for top honours.

2. Stothard – Ricatori The Wild One At Carrnaze

R/W. Flat skull with dark clear eyes, correctly placed. Good shoulder placement leading to well boned legs and neat feet. Good rib. Good movement. Preferred tail and set on 1 but again another quality bitch.

Class 14 – Limit Bitch – (8 entries, 2 absent)

1. Munro – Boltonbully Honey Ryder At Deadgod

R/W. Lovely flat skull with fine wrinkle. Lovely expression. Clear dark eyes, well placed. Correct shoulder placement, well boned forelegs and tight neat feet. Good barrel of rib with adequate tuck up. Good tail and set. Moved very well coming and going.

2. Watkins – Chayo Hot To Trot

R/W. Flat skull with good ear placement. Dark clear eyes. Good reach of neck. Correct topline with good tail and set. Moved very well.

Class 15 – Open Bitch – (7 entries, 4 absent)

1. Cradock – Blossmol Take Town By Storm

Super quality bitch. Flat skull with minimal wrinkle. Correct ear placement, thin ears. Clear dark round eyes. Good width of jaw and upsweep. Correct shoulder placement and square front. Neat feet. Good reach of neck. Correct topline leading to lovely tail and set. Moved very well around the ring, holding topline on the move. Delighted to award her BB, RBIS and BOS.

2. Ingamells – Chelajay’s Pin Up Girl

W/R. Finer overall than one. Flat skull with clear dark round eyes. Good dentition. Correct shoulder placement. Neat feet. Good tuck up. Correct topline, tail and set.
