I would like to thank the committee for their kind invitation to judge at this show and to my stewards David and Daniel for their help in keeping the ring running smoothly.

Flat Coated Retrievers

Puppy (2): 1. Thurgood Thurwhitt Lyra Belacqua – 7 month old puppy. Presented a very well balanced outline. Feminine head with dark eye. Good angulation in front and rear. She gave a good “wriggle performance” when standing but when she settled she moved very well to take BP BOB

2. Lewis Fairwinds Blooming Wild – 6 month old puppy. Nice overall shape. She has also a feminine head. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Short through loin with good hindquarters. Didn’t move quite as well as the winner.

Graduate (2): 1. McCammick Montegrino Pied Piper For Saffdales – Another well made bitch with a feminine head. Sound front and rear with good body proportions. When settled she moved well.

2. Cooves Benvellyn Nyanga At Draketor – Well made bitch with good front. Neck flowed into shoulders. Level topline with well ribbed body. Not quite the rear movement of winner.

Limit (1) McCammick Montegrino Pied Piper For Saffdales – as above

Open (2) 1: May – Ronevorg Dark Angel At Lussac JW KC SGWC. A very handsome balanced dog with excellent front, reach of neck and correct topline. Just the right amount of bend in stifle and presented in very good condition. Powered round the ring with good reach and drive. I had wanted to give this dog BOB but today he wouldn’t let me or his handler look inside his mouth to check his scissor bite.

2. Cooves Pajanbeck I have A Dream By Draketor - Another bitch with a well molded feminine head with good hazel eye. She has a good reach of neck and well laid shoulder and corresponding length and return of upper arm. Her ribcage is of good length and she is correctly coupled. Level topline and correctly set, gently wagging tail. Moderately angulated strong hind quarters with excellent width of thigh. Super bone and feet.

Spaniel (Welsh Springer)

Graduate (4,3)

1.Glenbrows Hopefulness. 2 year old bitch. Lovely head and expression. A good overall outline, head of good proportions and shape, eye of a good colour with a melting expression, good ear set, neck moderately long, set neatly into a good shoulder, forelegs straight and strong with good bone, depth to chest reaching the elbow. Well sprung rib, hind quarters with plenty of muscle, hocks well let down.

Open Dog (3,1)

1.Nicoll – Benoveor Sail on to Antreth JW 3-year-old male with a happy disposition Kind head and expression. Balanced throughout, well off for bone, good angulations fore and aft, good in rib, strong quarters, moved steady.

2. Attwood. Ir ShCh Kylowen Drym Sh CM ShCEx IR Vet Ch- Veteran boy nearly 10 years old. Well shaped head and kind expression. Well balanced with ample bone, stood on good feet, well-muscled throughout and moved well.

Open Bitch (5,3) 1. Morgan – Benoveor Endless Love at Rubydown 3 year-old bitch, well balanced throughout, lovely head and expression. Excellent in front, clean over the shoulders which led into a good topline. Strong hindquarters and moved well. BOB

2. Attwood – Kylowen Demelza VW IR VET CH- Nearly 10 year-old bitch. Good head with kind eye, excellent in front, strong over the loin, good depth to chest, moved steady.

Spaniel (English Springer)

Open (3,1)1. Hill’s Teignvalley New Beginnings – Just over a year old. Black and white dog who has a pleasing head with the kindest of expressions. Correct eye shape and pigmentation, clean neck into well laid back shoulders. Well boned with straight forelegs. He has a deep chest and well-sprung ribs. Firm topline with moderate rear angulation. Just had that extra sparkle when moving. BOB

2. Hill’s Teignvalley Rags To Riches – Litter sister to winner and has many of the same qualities. So well made but the winner just had the edge in movement today.

Retriever Labrador

Special Yearling (1) 1. Wallace Dreamaker For Tiaja JW (Imp DNK) Nearly 2 year old yellow bitch. Well made young lady. Kind head and expression. Good reach of neck and well laid back shoulders, together with level topline and good hindquarters. Although she moved energetically, her movement was a little erratic today.

Post Graduate (1) Philpott Clarisview Primrose 2 year old yellow bitch. Lovely head and expression. Very well balanced throughout with good angulation front and rear. Well developed ribcage with good bone and compact feet. Movement was a bit untidy coming and going.

Limit (1) Jeffery Carohall Day Dreamer At Mibridge – 9 year old Black substantial veteran dog. Kind head and expression. Deep through chest and ribs with strong hindquarters. Moved happily around the ring.

Open (3) 1. Philpott Rossacre Spangles Of Clarisview – 5 year old yellow bitch. Pretty head with a sweet expression. Although she is not not the biggest in size, she is nicely balanced thoughout. Presents a level topline and carried her tail which was used correctly on the move. Good angulation in front and rear which enabled her to move well. BOB

2. Wallace Tiaja Love In The Sun – 7 year old mature yellow bitch that still appeals for type. Feminine head and kind expression. Clean neck line that flows into well laid shoulders. Still keeps a level topline and moved enthusiastically around the ring.
