I would like to thank the officers and committee of the club for their kind invitation to judge at this show.

A super show, friendly atmosphere and slickly run all day.

Thank you to all the exhibitors for bringing forward your beautiful dogs under me.

Class 161 English Setter:

Open (5,1)

1. Mrs M Osman. Bournehouse Sirocco Over Marissolo JW

BOB

At almost 18 months, a smart young dog. Attractive, balanced head and dark eyes, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Impressive depth of chest with good rib cage, excellent bone and tight feet. Level topline which he held on the move, well-turned stifles, strong and muscular. Good carriage on the move driving from behind, really covered the ground

2. Mrs S Rainey. Culverwell Touch Of Fortune At Wolmersdon

BP & RBOB

Just 11 months old. A well developed bitch, presenting a nice, balanced outline despite her young age. Lovley head and expression. Good depth and spring of rib, level back, super front and rear angulation, well set on tail. Moved steadily, showing good rear action. Beaten on maturity of 1 today

Classes 162 - 165 Irish Setter:

Puppy (2,0)

1. Mrs R & Dr H Jones. Gwendariff Rhinanna

Very well-presented coat of lovely colour & texture. Racy and elegant and with substance. Lovely feminine head of good length with excellent eye colour, shape & expression. Good length of shoulder & return of upperarm, elbows well let down. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Good topline, bone & feet. Moved well, free flowing stride with impeccable drive from behind

            BP

Delighted to see this girl take the gundog puppy group.

2. Mrs D A Murray. Henleas Maximilian With Derrydore

A good shape for his still young age, super head with pronounced occiput, defined stop and raised brows with dark eyes of correct shape. Good reach of neck with desired crest sitting cleanly into correct shoulder placement, ample forechest and neat feet.

Firm topline that flows from withers to tail, but a little out at elbow on the move today and I would like a bit more angulation to stifle but that may come with age.

Special Yearling (4,0)

1. Mrs M L Aldridge. Clonageera Winner Takes All

Not long out of puppy, he is very well made with splendid balance, a strong outline, loads of confidence and stylishness. Head is well proportioned, wonderful chiselling and well set on fine ears. He is well angulated with an impressive forehand, excellent depth of chest, and plenty of strength and width to his loin. He has width behind with a good bend of stifle. Moved well

2. Mr D G & Mrs P A Pike. Redclyst Sibelius

Rising 2 year old dog. Typical shape, refined head of pleasing proportions with good eye and expression, A clean neck of good length, breed typical outline and proportions, an active mover, but didn’t move with the power and precision of 1 today

Post Graduate (4,0)

1. Mr D G & Mrs P A Pike & Miss H Henderson. Redclyst The Celt

4 year old dog, excellent type, quality, and proportions with pleasing flow of outline and ample length of leg, good length of rib cage, well coupled, beautiful coat, excellent coordination and drive on the move with a balanced and even footfall. Superbly muscled throughout, rock steady topline and tail carriage – I could have watched him run all day!

BOB

2. Miss H Henderson & Mr M Szwajkowsk. Grenada Lofty Czerwony (Imp Pol)

3 1/2year old bitch, heavier coated than 1 but an excellent depth of chest, however a little too long in her body proportions for my taste. She could carry more muscle. Lovley feminine head but a slightly long neck. Well bent stifle with low hocks and not overdone at all, moved well in profile but lacked he drive and muscle tone of 1.

Open (3,0)

1. Miss H Henderson, Mr M Szwajkowsk, Mr D G & Mrs P A Pike. Redclyst Pershing

5 year old, well balanced dog – producing a striking in outline when

Stacked. Nice in head with correct proportions and lovley dark eye. Good reach of neck, nice layback of shoulder, sound in front and rear. His gently sloping topline, deep chest with good spring of rib aided by strong, muscular rear end helped him to move well. Presented, and handled well. Pushed hard for BOB but just beaten this time on movement.

RBOB

2. Mr D & Mrs C Clarke. Covarney Dream Time From Bronrians JW

3year old bitch. Nice head with raised brow, clean neck into a good front, good layback of shoulder leading into a good topline. Good depth to chest and well ribbed back but a little too long. Good over the croup and good sweep of stifle. Moved sound and true but lacked the drive and musculature of 1.

Class 166 Gordon Setter:

No entries

Class 167 Large Munsterlander:

Open (3,0)

1. Mr P W Disney. ShCh Wonglepong Wills Faramir ShCex VW

Strong looking, masculine 10 year old dog – the best of the class today.

Still driving on the move, decent stifle angulation and well muscled behind. Nice depth of chest with good spring of rib, moved with drive and precision off tight feet but a little out at elbows today showing an intermittent circumductory forelimb gait. Topline help well regardless of this but tail carriage higher than I would like

BOB

2. Mrs K & Mr R Caile. Foxy Gabber Uut’T Vossbeltseveld For Kamaze (Imp NLD)

Rising 3 year old dog, masculine in outlook. He has a lovely head & expression with the correct length of head leading into a good neck & shoulders, he is well boned with nice feet & balance. A little narrow behind which showed in his movement particularly when moved away, better in profile once he settled but also another who flies his tail. Would benefit from better rear angulation, however moves with nice head carriage, steady topline and finished with a nice coat

             RBOB

Classes 168 – 170 Spaniel (Welsh Springer):

Graduate (1,0)

1. Mr M C & Mrs E Lamport. Glenbrows Hopefulness

Rising 2 year old bitch, an appealing all over image but she could have just a fraction more length of legs for perfect proportions but well angulated. Beautiful head with soft expression, Strong topline, well developed in body for her young age. Short, strong loin, good bone and compact feet – long effortless stride in profile

Open Dog (1,0)

Beautiful veteran boy at 9 years old, super head and expression, well balanced with ample bone, stood on good feet, well-muscled throughout and moved really well.

RBOB

Litter sister to RBOB, another stunning veteran. Sharing many of her brother qualities – I really liked this bitch, super head with a real melting expression, ample bone, good feet, super topline held on the move, beautifully presented. Out moving her brother today to take BOB

BOB

Dark eye giving a lovely expression, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders and return of upper arm, well sprung ribs and correct topline, tight feet, strong correct rear used to his advantage. Another immaculately turned out and a real head turner from the moment he entered the ring.

1. Mr M Luczynski. Baladeva Scarlet Letters For Kanara ScCM ShCEx VW

Pretty little black bitch on the smaller end of the scale. 9 years old which was surprising! Standing, she was eye catching with just enough muzzle, nicely shaped head, clean outline and well sprung rib. Broad thigh, well-muscled hind quarters and well-shaped feet. Moved out very well with drive, covering the ground effortlessly, I loved her attitude on the move!

BOB
