I would like to thank the Bullmastiff Association for inviting me to judge at their Open Show held in conjunction with Leeds Championship Show. Thank you to all of the exhibitors for their entries, and to the Stewards for keeping the showing running smoothly. I had a wonderful time at the show, judging some beautiful dogs. They are a credit to you all.
Baby Puppy Dog
1. Jone’s – King of the Manor - 4 ½ months old, fawn, with a beautiful black mask, what a super outgoing, balanced puppy, took everything in his stride, not phased at all, lovely profile with level top line. Head developing nicely, correct ear placement, with dark eyes of correct shape, good dentition and bite, straight front, with good lay of shoulder, rear angulation good, nice tail set, stands on neat tightfeet, he moved round the ring well and looked as though he was really enjoying himself, handled beautifully by his young handler.
Best Minor Puppy Dog and Best Minor Puppy in Show.
Minor Puppy Dog
1. Brown & Reader’s – Brinkybull Wiffy’s Legacy at Sundabish (AI) (IMP Aus) TAF – 6 month old fawn boy, a well balanced puppy with a lovely profile, head developing nicely beautiful dark mask and ears, with the darkest of eyes, slightly longer in muzzle with well defined stop, lovely wide nostrils, good width of jaw, nice reach of neck, chest developing nicely, good lay of shoulder, well ribbed, his rear quarters developing well with good rear angulation, level topline which was held on the move, tight neat feet, moved very well around the ring. Best Minor Puppy Dog and Best Puppy in Show.
2. Warren’s - Copperfield Jonas Mudge –Red, 6 months old, well off for bone, square head with a beautiful black mask and dark well-set ears, would prefer a darker eye. Good width to muzzle with super wide nostrils, strong under jaw with good dentition and bite, straight front with the nicely developing chest, well ribbed rear quarters developing well with good angulation, level topline which he held on the move, neat tight feet. He moved well around the ring. Presented in excellent condition.
Junior Dog
1. Linley’s – Hyerdunscar All About Keith Through Optimus – substantial 1 year old fawn dog, well off for bone and size. Strong square head with dark mask and ears which are set well, lovely dark eye, good dentition and bite, broad muzzle with defined stop, good width to under jaw, a lovely reach of neck, nice straight front, with good chest, the lay of shoulder was good. Well muscled rear quarters with great width of 2nd thigh, level topline, which was held on the move, tail set good, lovely hind quarters, good bend of stifle. Moved well, with drive and purpose, stands on tight feet. Reserve Best Dog.
Post Graduate Dog
1. Bingham’s – Daisonville I’m Your Man – 2 year old fawn dog with a balance head with dark mark and ears which were well set, dark eye, correct shape, well defined stop, excellent bite, good reach of neck which is strong, good lay of shoulder, deep brisket, enough bone and tight neat feet, good spring of ribs, level top-line and moderate bend of stifle, moved well holding his topline.
Limit Dog
1. Latter’s – Stoneglad Casanova- Fawn dog, just over 2 years old, a strong balanced head of good proportions, dark mask and ears which were set well, good dentition and bite, strong muscular neck. Well off for bone, good lay of shoulder with a deep chest and good spring of rib, level topline which he held whilst moving, move out with purpose, with good reach and drive.
Open Dog
1. Thomas & Bull’s- Phoria’s Seventh Heaven JW- Lovely profile. Well proportioned and balanced fawn dog, 2 ½ years old, of good size with plenty of bone, square strong masculine head, with dark mask and ears, good ear carriage, muzzle blunt with defined stop, with lovely open nostrils and neat flews, super dark eyes. Strong, muscular, arched neck, good lay of shoulder excellent depth and width of chest, with deep brisket, level topline with good tail set. Rear quarters muscular and super width of 2nd thigh, moderate angulation. Moved soundly and with purpose, he covered the ground with good reach and powerful drive drive whilst maintaining his topline. Best Dog, Best Opposite Sex & Reserve Best in Show.
Junior Bitch
1. Bingham’s – Daisonville Phillippa- 13 month old fawn bitch, nicely balanced young lady of smaller size, feminine head of correct proportions with correct dark markings, neat ear placement with lovely dark expressive eyes eyes of correct shape, square muzzle with a well defined stop, good dentition and bite, moderate length of neck, good lay of shoulder, chest developing well, stands on straight front legs and tight neat feet. Good spring of rib, well muscled thighs. Moved well coming and going retaining her topline.
2. Hinchley and Connaughton – Reesley In It To Win It – Fawn bitch 14 months old, another balanced young lady well off for bone with a feminine head of correct proportions and markings, correct ear placement with lovely dark eyes, good dentition and bite, lovely arched neck, good lay of shoulder , front developing nicely, level topline with good tail set, good angulation, just a little unsettled on the move.
Post Graduate Bitch
1. Hodson’s – Sundabish Miss Potts – Red bitch, 2 ½ years old, lovely profile, broad feminine head with a lovely expression, dark ears and eyes, well defined stop, lovely bite and dentition, broad front, ample bone, neat tight feet, short level back, well sprung ribs, well muscled second thigh, correct tail set, moved soundly with purpose round the ring keeping her top-line on the move. Reserve Best Bitch.
2. Eichler’s – Nehrani Lady Lavender- Brindle bitch just over 2 years old, of good size, feminine head and expression, with neat ear placement, bit reluctant to show me her bite, chest developing, good bone, tight neat feet, 2nd thigh still developing, sound on the move, which she did steadily, in her time.
Limit Bitch
1. Turner’s – Sundabish Manila Luuzon- 4 year old brindle bitch, not the biggest of girls, but she has substance, she has a beautiful stunning profile and is so balanced. Beautiful square, feminine head of correct proportions, with the darkest of eyes, neat set ears and a fabulous expression. Excellent dentition with a super bite, arched neck flowing into well laid-back shoulders, lovey straight front, good depth, and width of chest with a lovely spring of rib, level topline, with correct tail set, excellent rear angulation, with well developed thighs. She excelled in her movement, powerful and effortless, moving true coming and going maintaining her topline at all times, shown in beautiful condition, beautiful tight, neat feet. Best Bitch and Best in Show.
2. Bown’s- Sundabish Toffolo – Red bitch 6 years old, well off for bone, pleasing square head of correct proportions, lovely pigment, well placed neat dark ears, lovely dark eyes and dark muzzle. Good reach of neck leading to level topline with a good tail set. Nice straight, wide front with a good depth of chest. Strong level topline, good rear quarters, nice bend of stifle and good width to second thigh, stands on beautiful tight feet. Moved soundly and steadily.
Open Bitch
1. Macardle’s - Rosco’s Girl at The Bar in Monascreebe – Fawn, 4 yrs old, well off for bone, square feminine head with a broad skull, well defined stop, kind dark eye and neat ear set, good dentition and bite, lovely expression. Well muscled arched neck, flowing into level topline. Deep chest with ample width, good spring of rib, enough rear angulation, good width to second thigh. Moved soundly and steadily, maintaining topline.
2. Shirt’s – Uptown Bella at Finchwell From Woodbulls Future (IMP BEL) JUN CH – 3 year old red girl, well off for bone and well proportioned, she has a strong but feminine head, nice dark eyes, neatly set ears, well defined stop,lovely expression, a good reach of neck, flowing to a level topline, good lay of shoulders and straight forelegs, deep chest and good spring of rib, strong hind quarters good width to second thigh, moved soundly and steadily maintaining topline.
Veteran Bitch
1. Thomas and Bull’s – CH Optimus Euphoria – Fawn 7 ½ years old, not showing her age, well off for bone, lovely square feminine head of correct proportions , nice, kind dark eye, neat ear placement, good width to under-jaw with good dentition, lovely reach of neck, straight front with good lay of shoulder, good width and depth of chest, nice spring of rib, well muscled rear quarters, stands on neat tight feet, she moved around the ring soundly with such much power certainly on her toes today Best Veteran.
2. Turner and Myer’s- Optimus Diva – Fawn, just over 8 ½ years old, lovely square head of correct proportions, the darkest of eyes , neat ears and the kindest of expressions, good reach of neck, leading to a good lay of shoulder and a level topline with nice tail set, Good rear quarters with well muscled thighs, another lady who did not not show her age, she moved beautifully
