GRAVESEND AND MEDWAY TOWNS CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW

SUNDAY 20TH OCTOBER 2024

I would like to thank the committee for a really well run busy show especially with the awful weather conditions that the committee had to deal with. Being outside in the rain, I wish to also thank the exhibitors for their good spirits showing their dogs in the inclement weather outside until we were moved inside and by no means at least, to my steward Hillary who was wonderful and persevered with the paperwork even when it became soaked and started to disintegrate!

1st Mr & Mrs McArdle STARVON GET THE DRINKS IN FOR MONASCREEBE (Swedish Vallhund) 10 month old dog puppy who even in the pouring rain, showed his ring presence with a ‘look at me’ attitude, lovely head, dentition, correct ear and eye placement, good neck, well laid shoulders, good length of back with level topline, moved extremely well. Best A.V.N.S.C. Puppy

2nd Mr T & Mrs C Spuling JELABOBS PACO RABANNE FOR DANTRECAR (Old English Sheepdog) 7 month old dog puppy full of quality, good head, correct bite, well placed ears, nice neck of good length, good body, an extremely lovely pup who just needs to settle on the move but I am pretty sure that the awful weather did not help.

1st Mrs E C Winfield BROWNIEGLEN’S GHILLIE DHU (Welsh Corgi Pembroke) I was very impressed with this lovely 3 year old bitch who showed and moved like she owned the ring. Lovely head and expression, good body with strong rear, moved around the ring well. Reserve Best A.V.N.S.C.

2nd Miss S Irons RIXYMANOR AUTOMNE (Belgian Shepherd dog Malinois) deep red 3 year old bitch that was not really happy today and would not use her ears at all, well muscled forequarters but I really would prefer more depth of chest. Moved ok.

3rd Mr R Rizzo Hills GREAVELOUS BUSKE BOCSKOR (Hungarian Pumi)

1st Ms L & Miss I Barnes & King CH STARVON FAME AWAITS FOR IZLOU JW (Swedish Vallhund) 2 year bitch who oozes quality, gorgeous wedge shape head, lovely mask, very bright and attentive, holds a great topline standing and on the move, excels in movement Best A.V.N.S.C and PASTORAL GROUP 2

2nd Mrs E C Winfield DALEABBEY’S APPLE PIE AT BROWNIEGLEN (Welsh Corgi Pembroke) Sable bitch of 5 years, another lovely Pembroke with good head, good length of back with good topline standing and on the move, well angulated at the rear, just out moved by 1.

1st Mrs P Milham RUDE BOY VOM SUTUMER-GRUND AT SHADOWSTACK (IMP DEU) (White Swiss Shepherd Dog) 8 month old dog puppy, excellent temperament, good head with decent stop, skull needs to flatten a little more but he is still a baby with time on his side, good shoulders and forechest, good level topline with a nice correct croup, good bone, nice gait but still slightly loose at the rear. 1st Mrs S Collins FULL OF THE DICKENS WINNER TAKES IT ALL FOR KINGSWUD Well, this dog puppy is a heart-stealer, what a wonderful, quality, personable puppy. Full of joy but does what is asked of him. Has a fabulous head, good length of neck, good chest, level back standing and on the move, good bone, fareally well presented. Moved really well but being hyper critical, rear movement needs to tighten up slightly but he was only 2 days past 6 months on the day so plenty of time! One to watch in my opinion. Reserve Best of Breed/Best Puppy in Breed/PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP 1

2nd Mrs S & Miss C Bowden SUBESSEN THE WONDER OF YOU Another lovely quality puppy of only 7 months of age, on another day could change places with 1 as this young dog puppy is full of quality, another with a lovely balanced head, good eye, nice length of neck into a really good body with good chest and bone. Unfortunately today he was not so settled and as self-assured as 1, I do not think the weather helped him at all.

1st Mr D & Mrs K, Miss S Angier & Stacey ICON DE BRUINE BUCK AT BIRKCROSS (IMP NLD) ShCEx 7 year old upstanding dog who belies his age as he looks and moves like a younger dog. Stood alone in breed class but very well deserving placings for him today. Lovely alert expression always attentive with gorgeous dark eyes, well set ears, blackest of coats, such a well balanced dog with a lovely forechest, good bone, lovely level topline which he held on the move. Presented to perfection. Best of Breed and PASTORAL GROUP 3

1st Miss M Bartlett CWYNHAPUS JEWEL IN THE CROWN 17 month old bitch, good head with a pleasant expression, good stop, well set ears, lovely front and rear angulations, moved well. Reserve Best of Breed

2nd Mrs P Simmons SIMMOVON FOLLOW MY HEART Bitch of 14 months old, another with a pleasing head, lovely underjaw, good front and rear angulation but movement not so positive as 1.

2nd Mr D & Mrs K, Miss S Angier & Stacey BILYARA ISN’T SHE LOVELY (AI) A lovely and attractive 20 month old bitch, shorter in body, good front and moved well but I preferred the topline and bend of stifle on 1.

Best of Breed and PASTORAL GROUP 4

2nd Miss M Bartlett CWYNHAPUS CELESTIAL BEAUTY JW Another lovely bitch this one being 3 years old with lovely expression, good stop, kind eye, well set ears, slightly shorter in neck but does not detract, good topline on the move, well balanced with good movement but I preferred the muscle tone on 1.

German Shepherd Dog

1st Mrs P Milham DROYALES ONE AND ONLY AT SHADDOWSTACK 8 month bitch who in my opinion is just pure quality, she is very feminine whilst still being upstanding, with a lovely temperament. She has a lovely head, all in proportion, clean lip line, good bite, ears set correctly, has good length to neck, well set shoulders, good straight parallel front legs, with well developed chest. Wonderful correct topline with the very slight fall at the croup desired. Excellent bend of stifle, nothing exaggerated at the rear and wonderful strong hocks that are parallel on the move and a delight to watch her when she moves away from you. Good long tail reaching past the hock. Beautifully presented. Will be really interested to see how she develops in her show career. Could not deny her Best of Breed, Best Puppy in Breed, PASTORAL GROUP 1 and PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP 2.

2nd Miss K Brown WINDGUNN’S ZORRO AT DARVELDOWN 9 month old dog puppy who also has an extremely good future ahead of him, another that is a quality dog with a lovely head, he is all male but has a great temperament, ears need a bit of time yet as they are quite close on top of his head but he is still a puppy and has time for skull to broaden some yet, he has again a lovely front assembly with a decent topline, good length of tail, well bent stifle but good hocks, on the move he is slightly loose still in rear movement but he is so promising.

1st Miss K Brown ABIDEJACK SIGGY AT DARVELDOWN 2 ½ year old bitch of whom at first when she came in I felt was not what I was looking for, but she is one to be handled. She is slightly finer and I would prefer a bit more depth of chest to her, I would also prefer a darker eye but she does have good shape and substance and she had a good topline and was the best mover in the class.

2nd Mr D Chapman KONATIAN BAGGY TROUSERS 2 year old dog again with excellent temperament, well presented, very attractive male dog with lovely head properties, good eye, neat ears, good length of neck, good forechest, good substance and length of back although he drops away a bit sharp in croup, movement was ok.

3rd Mrs P McCarthy ASHPRINGTON’S ZELLO

1st Mrs W J Sharp SHARPHOUSE’S JASMINORANGE 7 year old bitch who is of lovely type, with a good head, eye, well placed ears, good neck, well laid back shoulders, good depth of chest, good topline, excellent muscle tone, showed really well, moved well. Reserve Best of Breed

2nd Mrs P McCarthy ASHPRINGTON’S ZELLO 3 year old dog whom has a lovely temperament. Good coat and kind eye, well placed ears, okay length of neck, good bone, well presented however his topline is slightly roached and croup drops away, he is cow hocked and his hocks are loose which shows in his rear movement when he moves away.

1st Mrs S Collins CH LUNA DE CHESTER AT KINGSWUD (IMP FRA) JW (Bearded Collie) 9 ½ year old bitch of excellent quality, lovely head, excellent teeth and bite, good length of neck and back, excellent angulations front and rear, moved really well.

2nd Mrs M Aristides-Pickard SAMBREEZE TIIANMARIA (Finnish Lapphund) 11 year old bitch with a wonderful temperament, excellent presentation and in wonderful coat, lovely head and expression, very alert and attentive, well balanced and moved out well.

Lovely dog with a good head and expression, good body and tail set, well presented, moved well.

Well presented sable Dog of 4 years of age, has a good head with well rounded muzzle, good dark

oblique eye, well set ears although was flying one at times, good dentition, decent bone and

substance, moved well, would prefer tail to be longer.
