Stafford & District Canine Society

Thank you to the Officers & Committee of Stafford & District Canine Society for their invitation to judge Pugs at their Open show on the 28th of September 2024, and to my two wonderful stewards who helped my classes run smoothly. Most importantly thank you to all exhibitors who gave me an entry. I was very lucky to have so many quality dogs to go over, which I’m sure would change places on another day. I had some really tough choices to make.

PUGS 

Puppy (1)1st - Mrs T Watson`s Tybec Single Lady. A very pretty Six months old bitch. Cobby and well off for bone. A wide jawline, open nares, a dark eye which gives her a soft expression. Rose ears with head work starting to develop . She is short in body, has a good fore chest, level top line. Well muscled hind quarters and good turn of stifle. She Moved well once settled. BPIB & Toy Puppy group 4.

Junior (6,2a)1st – Briddon & Fisher`s Briddish Kikki Dee. 16-month-old bitch full of substance. Pretty feminine head with a decent underjaw, dark eyes and plenty of workings to her head. Ample reach of neck, with well laid-back shoulder leading to her level top line. Well-muscled with a good turn of stifle. She moved with drive around the ring.

2nd – Mr & Mrs Mcaleny`s Macmoore Bobbiesgirl. A smart well balanced 15-month-old bitch with a pale coat. A correct bite with wide underjaw nice contrasting dark pigment. Plenty of workings on her head, open nares and a dark eye which gave her a lovely soft expression. Good reach of neck and lay back of shoulder, level top line and a high set tail. Very good movement.

1st Post Graduate (4,2a)1st - Mr & Mrs Mcaleny`s Macmoore Movin On. Another well balanced dog presented in good condition. Nice wide jaw, open nares, dark eyes and well-set ears. Moderate angulations front and rear, a very good top line which he held on the move.

Open (6, 1a)1st – Mrs A Nixon`s Afterglow This Little Piggy. This three-and-a-half-year-old bitch caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring. She is so well balanced with a super forechest, well-muscled with a good turn of stifle. She has nice bone and is square a cobby with a level top line. Her head is round with a wide underjaw, open nares and dark eye which gave her lovely soft expression. Her coat is pale and soft and she has dark black contrasting pigment. She moved with drive around the ring. BOB

2nd - Briddon & Fisher`s Chandshar Me and Bobby McGee at Briddish JW. 2 ½ year old dog short and cobby with good bone. A round masculine head, good pigment, wide underjaw, plenty of head workings. Ample neck with good lay back of shoulder level topline & tight curl to his tail, straight front, well-muscled with good turn of stifle. Good Movement.
