HORLEY & DISTRICT SHOW SOCIETY OPEN SHOW 25/8/2024 RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK Thank you to the society for inviting me to judge at your friendly and well-run show. And thank you to the exhibitors for your entries and the opportunity to judge your beautiful hounds. All dogs had good temperaments, correct bites and correct ridges. Well done to all handlers for coping with the many interesting smells on the ground that seemed to be distracting the dogs today – no exhibits were penalised for this. PUPPY (0) JUNIOR (5,1) 1: Larkin’s ASHARAA’S HEY THERE GEORGY GIRL 12-month red wheaten moderate bitch shown in gleaming condition. She has an attractive clean head with dark round eye and good depth of muzzle. Good reach of neck, free from throatiness. Good substance, lovely forechest and depth of chest. Fabulous tight feet and correct pasterns. Well-balanced angulation, good length of ribbing, strong topline held on the move and correct tail set. Good strength to first and second thigh and well let down hocks. She moved with precision, covering the ground well. Delighted to award her RBOB 2: Hicks’ NUTHOUSE GOING FOR GOLD JW Another lovey red wheaten bitch, 14-month old. Pretty feminine head, good reach of neck, nice forechest. She has balanced moderate angulation, good feet, with correct pasterns and good length of body. Correct tailset and well let down hocks. She moved well for her handler, covering the ground well. 3: Parker’s ASHARAA’S SHE’S MAGIC TO AZULI POST GRADUATE (5,2) 1: Barnes’ DIAMONDRIDGE DREADNOUGHT 13-month young wheaten male with a strong masculine head with good dark eye, correct planes and good ear set. Plenty of substance and good forechest and depth of chest, good ribbing and strong loin. Tight feet, correct pasterns and balanced angulation. He powered around the ring, covering the ground with ease whilst maintaining his topline. Delighted to award him BOB 2: Larkin’s ASHARAA’S HEY THERE GEORGY GIRL See Junior 3: Healey’s KIROMOL RECKON I’M HOT OPEN DOG (1,1) Caroline Catharell (Faahac)
