Junior (1)

1st Thomas Tigerrock Top Gun. 18 month dog of good size and substance. He has a good length of muzzle, just a touch more square than I prefer, bright in eye and of good size and shape. He is clean through the neck with a lovely front assembly complimented by a broad rear. Well muscled in lovely condition he moved true, I would love to see him go a little faster. RBOB

Open (1)

1st Philipsons Menstonia Meteor. Mature male with an excellent head, so balanced with chiselling below a soft hazel eye full of expression. He is strong and muscular throughout with a good length to height ratio, plenty of bone and tidy feet. On the move he is so balanced covering the ground easily. BOB Group 4

Clumber Spaniel

Puppy (1)

1st Dronsfields Knockhalon Hocus Pocus. Sweet 7 month bitch who has the right amount of substance. She has a lot of developing to do but although raw she has everything in the right place. She moved out nicely in her class but unfortunately lost it in later classes making me wonder if she had taken a knock. BP BOB

Junior (2)

1st Penneman & Wakefields Norris Northern Detective. Powerfully built male who looks very mature for 16 months. He is strong in head with a distinct brow and broad skull. Strong through the neck with laid back shoulder, deep brisket and well developed ribs leading to broad thighs. Steady on the move showing a good profile

2nd Wakefields Una Des Terres De Beaulieu (imp fra). Much smaller, finer bitch who stood well over her ground. Soft in eye with just enough width of skull. She has a good length to her neck with a smooth juncture to the shoulder. She holds her frame well on the move just not as steady as first.

PGrad (4)

1st Hipgraves Lord Of The Glittering Caves at Ternspringer. What a promising young dog. He is so well put together with a nicely shaped head and eye giving a lovely expression. Thick neck and ears, pleasing front with plenty of brisket and clean well boned legs. He is correct in length and spring of rib with good angulation behind. True and powerful on the move, pushed hard for BOB I would love to see him in another 12 months when he has finished off RBOB

2nd Daveys Eald Village Urchin. Mature bitch with a pleasing overall shape, feminine head still retaining true breed type. She is very balanced throughout standing on good legs and feet. Her ribs extend well back under a firm topline. She was so sound on the move, steady and true.

This class gave me a few headaches as there was so much to appreciate in all of them.

1st Ashcrofts Gary's Velikolepnaya Iz Valley Wins at Torshca (imp Blr) Unmistakably feminine but has strength in skull and muzzle with a pronounced stop and well set eye. She excels in front with a developed forechest, she has strong legs with good bone and round feet. Lovely depth and substance throughout with ribs extending well back to a firm loin. Her broad rump gave power and drive to her effortless but distinctive movement. BOB

2nd Daveys SHCH Eald Village Scandal JW Mature bitch with a pleasing headpiece, good length and strength to her muzzle with a gentle eye under a firm brow and plenty of skull. Well made in front with deep brisket and nicely sprung rib, Strongly boned legs and feet. On the move she was a little bit lively and over enthusiastic defying her veteran status.

P Group 1 Oakmarsh Little Acorn Chesapeake Bay Ret. This little bitch could do no wrong. She shows her balance and angulation every time you look at her. Loved her typy head and bright amber eye. She has a true harsh coat and powerful free movement.

P Group 3 Gwendariff MrBlueSky Irish Setter. Beautiful young Irish Setter with so much potential. He has a classy head with a true, quizzical expression. I loved both of these Sussex girls and they were very similar to look at. I was not surprised to be told after that they were mother and daughter, a great example of breeding to type.
