German Shepherd Dogs

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge GSDs at its Premier Open Show and to my excellent steward who assisted valiantly during a torrential downpour. Also, thanks to those exhibitors who entered when the date clashed with a championship show and the British Sieger.

1/ Fletcher-Mills’ Danisof Quartz

14 month old, eye-catching, black and gold male of correct size and conformation though front is slightly steep. He is powerful and moved efficiently once settled. He is sound both away and back and on the gait. A very promising and impressive young dog. He didn’t quite perform so well in the Challenge where he might have gone close, but I am sure he will do well in future.

1/ Cave’s Casiann ShCEx

Mature black and gold female aged 3.5 years. She was very vocal on first entering the ring but settled well. She is an exhibit of good quality who might perform at a higher level with improved fitness and conditioning. Top-sized powerful bitch of solid construction. Correct movement coming but slightly stronger hocks preferred. Moved well and efficiently though in profile. RBoB.

1/ Forman’s Kintaro Grace Kelly at Sudzans

Mature 4 year old black and gold female of excellent construction. She is a quality bitch with no exaggeration and of correct size. Back is correct and remains firm on the move. Her construction enables efficient movement on the gait and she is very sound away and back. Totally in tune with her handler, she was very well presented and moved in the ring. Pleased to award her BoB.

2/ Casiann Atlas

Powerful long coat male aged 3.5 years. Very well pigmented and luxuriant coat. His excellent head and strong bone add to the picture of a mature dog. He was rather excitable at first but his handler did well to calm him and he showed efficient movement when settled. Sound both away and back. He retains his profile well when gaiting correctly.
