Gundogs.

I would like to thank the committee for their invitation to judge several gundog breeds at their show. Also thanks to my 2 stewards who kept things running smoothly.

Cockers: Puppy 1 absent. Junior (5) 1st and Res BOB. Tomlinsons Milalder Lady Madonna, pretty bl/roan girl, liked her head, well balanced with kind eye and expression. Compact body, moderate neck leading to good shoulders and ribs. Moved well holding her outline. In lovely coat. 2nd Eisens Kerriglow black dove, another lovely girl but longer cast than first and slightly stronger in head for my taste, but has great front and rear with good depth of rib. Also moved well and presented in great condition. 3rd Kita Oakes Ludzska royal quest.

Post grad.(4) 1st Norris Joaldy mr happy at Amaranth, headed a mixed class for type. He has handsome head, kind eye, whilst longer cast than 2nd he scored in chest and front assembly. Muscular well rounded rear end. Holds good outline stacked and whilst moving. In lovely coat. 2nd Coombes Tomarisroan star maker, pretty girl who is more compact in body than 1st but not quite the depth of chest and ribs, feminine head with good eyes, good rear and hocks, happy on the move, also on great coat and condition. 3rd Tomlinsons Milalder jack flash. Open (3, 1a) 1st and BOB Remingtons Rozamie black pearl jessrejul, headed a good class. She scored on her front assembly and depth of chest and drive on the move, but is longer cast than 2nd, slightly heavy in head for me but overall type and attitude on the move took her to top spot today. 2nd Tomlinsons Milalder dreaming on a star, more compact than 1st but not quite the rib and chest for me. Very pretty head, kind expression, well muscled rear, holds nice outline, in lovely coat and condition.

ESS. Post grad, 1st and res BOB, Houses Gleadsbury destiny belle, well balanced girl, pretty head with chiselling, good forequarters and rear, deep chest, tended to pace initially but then got into her stride, well muscled up. Open. (2,1a) 1st and BOB Houses Gleadsbury it is destiny for Anacapa, litter brother to previous, and very similar but a masculine version, he was more positive on the move today, covering the ground, liked his head, good expression, good front and rear, holds pleasing outline, shown in good condition.

Curly coats. Post grad, (3). 1st and res BOB, Moskowitz Ravenho Mochara cadeaux, headed a class of litter mates, all by a dog I admire. All very similar and probably change places a lot. For me 1st had the edge today on movement, has depth of chest with good rib which was long leading to short loin and tuck up, also had best stifles of the 3. Well muscled up. 2nd Gill & Peakes Ravenho midnight miracle at Saxonholme, sister to 1st and very similar just not as positive on the move. Head of good shape and proportions, good through body, strong rear, holds nice outline. 3rd Greens Ravenho Comradai cymro, brother to above, very similar and close up. Open (2) 1st and BOB Valentines Ravenho tallow tango at Pattonia, another sibling, what a quality litter this was. Good head shape, all male, deep chest and good rib, strong through rear and good stifles, has correct body proportions and good coat. Well muscled. Moved with power. 2nd Mosokowitz Brightmeadow moondance, liver girl of slightly different type to the others, feminine head of good shape and proportions. Preferred body and outline of 1st,but had good neck and shoulder placement, capable of days work.

Chesapeakes. Puppy (2). 2 litter mates here and very similar. 1st and BPIB, Watts Oakmarsh little acorn, more mature than her sister, good head proportions, starting to come together in body, pleasing outline, correct coat texture and feel, moved smoothly and later went onto to win the gundog puppy group. 2nd Mellersh Tetts Oakmarsh land of promise, and she is full of promise, just on the thin side today and not as developed in body as sister, has correct coat type and texture, feminine head, good lips and nostrils, also moved well. Junior, repeat of puppy. Post grad, 1st and BOB Watts Oakleaf manor bay of Oakmarsh jw, good working type, liked her head piece, good lips and nostrils, muscular neck, good body proportions, oily coat, well muscled up and moved with power to take BOB from the open winner. Open 1st and res BOB Watts Oakmarsh Freedom sgwc, mum of pups and still showing post natal body today, again another workmanlike girl, strong neck, well boned, correct body proportions and correct coat type. Pipped at post by PG as not so positive on move today.

Nova scotia Duck tollers. Puppy 1st and BPIB, Williams Rivermasters Tinkerbell, cute pup , owner new to showing and did a good job on the move, need to steady the standing but it will come. Pretty head, still immature in body at this stage, good outline, nice coat ,happy puppy. Junior, 1st Peat and Foxs Tollisty Ginger chai, I note is half sister to the puppy and built along similar lines, quite fine boned, pretty head of good shape and proportions, would prefer more depth of chest, high tailset, happy mover. 2nd Rivermasters Tinkerbell. Post grad. (5, 2a) 1st and res BOB Adshead Afonbach Syrax JW, pretty girl with good head piece, looked the part standing and moving, good body proportions, correct topline and tail carriage . shown in lovely bloom, 2nd Brands Coedhelyg jingle all the way, handsome lad, good head, well angulated front and rear, also holds good topline just not as positive on the move as 1st, in good coat. 3rd T Ginger chai Open (4, 2a) 1st and BOB Adshead Afonbach winter is coming JW , half brother to previous and similar in type. Liked his head, good wedge shape, good through body and well angled, short level back, tight feet, moved with drive holding good outline, in great bloom. 2nd Morse Eusanit celtic sea at Sinsircariad, pretty headed girl, bit finer than 1st in body for me, holds nice outline,in good coat, well muscled , moved out well.

Bracco.s Puppy. 1st and BPIB, Bramley, Holdstock, Fretwell and Markins Piccorino praise be, delightful puppy who looks the part stacked but needs to keep 4 paws on the ground when moving as that lost her top honours today but she has plenty of time on her side. Lovely shape and outline, feminine head with good lips and chiselling, body developing nicely, good coat and skin. One for the future, Puppy group 4. Junior and Post grad, 1st and BOB Szulzycka Braccarions all or nothing, 2 different types here but both have lots to like. I preferred his overall balance and outline but for me 2nd had better head piece. Short neck, square body, well boned, strong rear and hocks and moved with power. 2nd and res BOB Fazenfield and Smiths Owlspoint asking for trouble, longer cast rangier boy, would benefit from little more weight, has classic head with deep muzzle and good lips, short neck, good shoulders and strong hindquarters, moved out with purpose.
