Lancashire Sporting Terrier Club Monday 27th May 2024 Thank you to LST for inviting me to judge, thanks also to my wonderful stewards for battling the elements alongside me and of course, my sincere gratitude to the wonderful exhibitors who braved the apocalyptic weather to come under me. Despite the pouring rain and difficult, muddy terrain, my exhibits still managed to show with ears up and alert on everyone. The weather certainly didn’t dampen the fun-loving attitude of the miniature bull terriers! MINIATURE BULL TERRIER Puppy (0/0) Junior (3/1) 1st – 61 – GIFFENBULL ENCORE OF ARIBAX – 13 month solid brindle dog with a tremendous head, with turn and fill. Excellent triangular eye with piercing glint and small well-placed ears bang on top. Mouth fault. Straight front with fantastic little cat feet. Ribs well sprung with strong muscular body and short back. Presents a beautiful outline with level topline that he holds on the move. Covered the ground with ease, navigating the muddy terrain without trouble while still providing the typical jaunty action of the breed. When stood, he had a glorious silhouette so full of type that just screams bull terrier in miniature. I could not deny him BOB. Was later shortlisted in the group, well done. 2nd – 59 – HOWFENBULLS LIL’ ROGUE – 12 month pretty r/w bitch very well marked. Head long, egg-shaped and filled but would prefer more profile. Mouth good and ears well placed and well used. Developing forechest and neat feet. Excellent bend of stifle with very well developed second thigh. Moved parallel with drive but unfortunately carries her tail a little gayly on the move which spoils her outline. Beautiful temperament and very well handled. Post Graduate (1/1) 1st – 62 – KENZDUO CALMING OCEAN AT HOWFENBULLS – 20 month old br/w bitch, what a sweet little girl with the most charming temperament smiling away despite the pouring rain! Head long with good dark eye giving excellent expression. Would prefer a touch more fill and profile. Mouth good. Ears set well and used non stop. Well laid back shoulders into a topline with a slight roach into her nicely muscled loins. Movement ok, parallel going but a little wide coming though she was attempting to avoid the muddy ground as best she could! Open (3/2) 1st – 64 – JENKIR HEBE AT BOWNESBULLS – 2 year old black br/w bitch very well marked, beautifully presented, hardened condition and so well schooled. Head is long and feminine, would prefer a touch more fill and eye is a little kind. Mouth is correct scissor bite with big, long canines. Excellent lay of shoulder which leads into a beautiful front with plenty of bone and substance about her. Deep brisket, well sprung ribs and muscular body. Excellent bend of stifle with well-developed second thigh. Tail set correctly and held horizontally at all times. Moved parallel with drive, at one with her handler. Anoushka Thompson (Oakfayre)
