Bearded Collie

Puppy (1)

1st Skinner’s VALKYRIE DE CHESTER AT TAMJENTA (IMP FRA) NAF TAF- 7mth old bitch who is beautifully constructed throughout. Skull is flat and has good width, muzzle is strong and of correct length to skull ratio, which is finished with a large black nose. Lay of shoulder is well laid back with a good upper arm. Stands well with a nice angle to pastern, onto lovely oval feet. Body length is good with level back and deep chest for age leads onto a broad croup. Rear angles are lovely where stifle is well bent. Movement is so true when coming to, just a little close at present when going away, as is expected for age. Presents such a super picture in side gait where her shape is maintained at all times. BP

Junior (2, 1abs)

1st Waldron & Gray’s UNE HISTOIRE D’AMOUR DE CHESTER WITH SNOWMEAD JW (IMP FRA) - 17mth bitch who is quite mature. Nice width of skull, good eye, correct stop and muzzle of good length with black nose. Neck of moderate length onto a good lay of shoulder. Body length is pleasing with ribs well spung and good depth of chest. Rear angles are balanced and match well with her front construction to enable her to move fluently where she showed soundness in all directions. RBOB

Post Graduate (7, 6abs)

1st Hollowell, Hackett & Hollowell’s CAPELAW NATHANIEL - 2 year old male who I felt was still maturing and bodying up but condition and coverage is correct for his development. Head balance is good with a correct eye and stop along with strength in muzzle. Neck is moderate in length. Rib cage is of good length but would like a little more spring of rib as he is a little slab sided, this will hopefully come as he matures, top line is level. Front and rear angles are balanced which enables him to retain his shape on the move, finished off with lovely feet.

Open (7, 3abs)

1st Butler’s CALOWYCH MOANA AT BAXILBY JW – A well put together bitch. Pleasing head with correct proportions, moderate stop. Neck is muscular and leads onto a front which is constructed well, stands straight in front, nice angle to pastern and onto correct oval feet. Hindquarters are angled well, with well bent stifle, first thigh has good muscle and this continues to strength in second thigh. Strength is evident in hocks. Ribs are of good length, and well sprung, with good depth to chest. Her Movement is lovely to watch, where her angles enable her to have excellent reach and drive to cover the ground so well. BOB

2nd Skinner’s TAMJENTA BENDELACREME – A lovely male that oozes masculinity, strength is seen throughout. He has a lovely head which has good width to skull and a broad muzzle. Muscular neck leads onto a good lay of shoulder and nice upper arm. He has a lovely top line which is held at all times. Shetland Sheepdog

Puppy (3, 1abs)

1st Rowan’s ROWANCREST CINDERELLA – Nice puppy who took this class as she was more together than 2nd place. Adequate front with good rear angles, and used what she had on the move where she kept her shape in profile. Croup is pleasing, with correct tail set. Head is good with a slight stop, nice muzzle length, ear of correct size and carried well. Finished with lovely feet. BP

2nd Goodwin’s ROWANCREST LEGALLY BLONDE - Slightly taller and not quite as together as first, she was a little bit unsure at first but did settle. Skull is strong, dark almond eye, muzzle of good length finished with a black nose. Rear angles are good with a correct bend to stifle, she has a good lay of shoulder but would benefit from a better upper arm as that can be seen when she moved where her top line is not maintained. Lovely oval feet.

2nd Smith’s SLANSTORM SUPANATURAL DEAN – A young male who is still maturing. Head is strong and masculine, just a little too much wrinkle which will improve as his skull broadens. Lovely muzzle which is broad and deep with good padding, with a good turn of chin. Neck of fair length, adequate front angles, a better lay of shoulder would benefit as this restricts his movement, and causes his top line to break. Rear angles are super, with a good bend to stifle and nice muscle development. Tail set and carriage are good, sound in movement.

3rd Fumera’s ELLCRYS ZAGREUS

Open (3, 1abs)

1st Smith’s SLANSTORM SUPANATURAL SAM – Brindle bitch of 3 years of age who does not always show what she has, but this is so evident when she moves where she is so fluent, giving such a pleasing side gait. Head is of correct proportions, I’d prefer a better ear carriage as not as close as I’d like, lovely dark correct eye, muzzle is strong and padded well, chin is good. Ample length of neck leading onto a super front, where her long lay of shoulder meets so well with correct length of upper arm, elbows are tight and meet with a developed chest, strong straight top line, broad pelvis, muscular hindquarters that are angled so well, and match her front construction. Strong hocks and cat like feet compliment. BOB

She has the darkest of eyes, good strong broad muzzle, lips and flews are good. Neck of fair length and flows correctly onto a lovely front. Body is developing well, with ribs well sprung and a good depth to chest where elbows meet, chest just needs to broaden. AVNSC

Puppy (8, 3abs)

1st Grantham’s NAUGHTY NOSTRADAMUS WIELKOPOLSKI SKI BERNADYN AT LAKEGIANTS NAF TAF – At just 7 mths this lovely young St Bernard male, caught my eye as he trotted into the ring. Head is masculine even at this tender age, with a broad skull which is slightly rounded, well-defined stop, short strong blunt muzzle, with a large black nose with large nostrils. Shoulders are laid well, stands straight in front with solid bone, and on super large feet that are surprisingly so compact for one so young. His body is developing well, ribs are rounded, depth and width of chest is good, loin has fair width, with a broad croup, which leads to strong and well boned rear angles. He has a moderate bend to stifle and super strong hocks. Carrying the correct amount of weight for his age he isn’t overdone anywhere. Movement is easy for him, he drives through so well from his hindquarters, and this is what won him the class and later the puppy group. He is still learning the ropes and in stance he doesn’t show what he has, but once moving it is easy to see. RBOB, BP & WPG1

2nd Becks’ SACARIAS BLUE JEAN BABY AT BEKESHA – Dobermann of the same age as 1st, very smart and clean lines, I’d prefer a little more bone throughout. Head planes are good, with a moderate stop, correct ear set and carriage. Neck is a nice length and leads to an adequately balanced front assembly, standing straight in front, and compact feet, just slightly toeing over. Rear angles match front well which enables movement to work well together. Top line is straight, movement was sound at all times.

He has a gorgeous head, giving a calm gaze, proportions are correct, larger ear correctly carried close to cheek, which are developed well. Dark eye, defined stop, broad muzzle and strong jaw. Muscular neck of moderate length leading onto a nice lay of shoulder, and return of upper arm where elbows are close to chest. Body is mature, with good spring of rib, chest is deep and roomy.
