Graduate Dog or Bitch (4, 1abs)

1st Reid’s DOBSHANGRILA XAVI (Imp IKC) 20mth black and tan male. A super looking dog with great construction. Head planes are good, dark eye, correctly placed ears, strength in neck onto a good shoulder, correct depth of brisket. Great top line and undercarriage, body developed well for his age as are his rear angles where he has lovely muscle definition, he moved with ease around the ring. Nice tail set and carriage. He was unsure initially when he was gone over, but then settled. Unfortunately, in the group he wasn’t happen which is a shame. I sincerely hope he gets over this silly little stage in his career as he has a bright future. BOB

2ND Moore’s TUWOS NATIONAL HERO (Imp IKC) A lovely young male of 12mths who I have judged before. I really like this boy he is such a showman for one so young and handled superbly. Gives a lovely outline in profile. Stands on tight feet and straight in front. Body is still developing and I felt on the day that he had probably recently sprouted up and now needs to build on his size. His angles are moderate but work well together when he moves where soundness and accuracy are evident, just a little close when going away, this will improve once muscle is developed. RBOB

1st Reid’s ZZ DREAMGIRL V NOBEL LINE (Imp NOR) 2yr brown bitch who is well boned and with substance. Head is well developed with good planes and proportions, ears are correct size and carried well, complimented with a dark eye. Strong neck onto a well-balanced front, stands straight in front onto tight feet. Strong top line, well developed body and lovely undercarriage. Hind quarters are adequately balanced and therefore enables her to move in a positive way in all directions, liked her strength in hocks.

1st Jones’ BOESE OFFTU HOLLIJON – At only 7mth old and I believe at her first show this young brindle bitch did so well. Head is still to come, but it is proportioned well, ear set and carriage is good, mouth is good, eyes are a nice shape. Medium bone throughout and correct for her size and age. Depth of brisket is correct, nice undercarriage, good topline, loin is of good length. Nice croup and tail set which is carried well. She moved well in all directions. BOB & BP she put on a super performance in the groups and was pleased to award her Puppy Group 4.

1st Chambers’ ELLJAYART THE GREAT MASTER OF GIGANTIFFZ - 2 year male with super bone and conditioning. He is so well balanced. Head piece is lovely with a dark mask, he gives a great attentive expression, correct ear set and size lying close to cheek, defined stop and good eye, strength in jaw, broad muzzle. Strong muscular neck, body is developed with a well sprung rib, strong in back and firm wide loin, top line is level and this was retained on the move where his balance and power were lovely to observe even in the small ring. Finished off with lovely tight feet. BOB

1st Mangat’s NEHRANI BOLLYWOOD KNIGHT - 2yr brindle male of top size so rich in colour. Pleasing head but would like more fill, quizzical wrinkle, dark mask, nice length of neck, good top line. Pleasing muscle development to thigh. Finished with tight feet. Moved sound in all directions. RBOB

2nd Mangat’s NEHRANI PRECIOUS LOTUS – 11mth dark brindle bitch, very raw puppy who needs time to come together. Ribs have begun to spring as will the rest of her in the coming months, she has a nice croup and tail set. She has lovely feet. Weight cover is just right for her age. Presented in lovely condition and with a sweet nature. BP

1st Mangat’s NEHRANI PRECIOUS INDIA – Pleasing bitch of a nice size, rib cage is well sprung and good croup. Head has a good ear which is carried well, dark medium eye with a lovely dark mask. Nice length of neck onto good top line, under carriage is also pleasing. Nice rear development. Presented in good condition. BOB

2nd Mangat’s NEHRANI RED REEFE – 11mth male, tall dog who at present is very raw. Head is in proportion to the rest of his body, with dark eye and good ear carriage, but lacks filling. Neck is of correct length. Body to still develop as is his chest, pleasing croup and rear angles which enabled him to drive well on the move, where he showed soundness. Would like more front angles and chest development, hopefully this will come in time.

1st Kingsley’s DAINOAK CARPE SCELERISQUE – 3yr old harlequin bitch, liked the overall outline of this bitch, but would prefer few patches. Her head is well put together, good skull, muzzle is strong and of correct length, medium ears set high and carried well. Neck is well arched and of good length and blends well onto a well laid shoulder, good return of upper arm where elbows are well under and met with a correct depth to her brisket, stands straight in front onto catlike feet. Ribs are well sprung, loin is wide and strong blending well onto hindquarters that are muscular with strong hock, pleasing croup. Lovely sound free movement. BOB and WG4.

1ST Kingsley’s Swiss CH DAINOAK FIT FOR FUNCTION AI – 3 ½ year old blue male. A big lad with great bone and substance. Such a fantastic nature. Head is proportioned well, larger ear carried well, would prefer a little less lip. Good length of neck. He has nice angles but slightly better hindquarters than front, lovely tail set. Body is deep with well sprung ribs, back and loins very strong and firm. Moved sound. RBOB

Alaskan Malamute

1st Holt’s BRECONFROST SHE’S MYSTICAL AI – 8 ½ mth bitch, with lovely bone and substance, stood lovely in profile and did not disappoint on the move. She has a lovely head, with dark eye, gentle stop, good width to skull where ears are set correct and used well. Moderate lay of shoulder, and stands straight in front onto compact feet, pasterns are strong for age, lovely topline which was held at all times, her hindquarters are developing well, where stifle is moderately bent and hocks strong and well let down. Presented in lovely condition RBOB and BP, later pleased to award her WPG3.

2nd Holt’s BRECONFROST HE’S MAGICAL AI - 8 ½ mth male and litter brother to first place. Another quality puppy, head is lovely already showing the masculinity, skull broad with a good ear set, eyes are dark, good width and length of muzzle, slight stop. Liked his lay of shoulder and how straight he stood in front, where strength was evident. Hindquarters are strong as are his hocks, just not quite as much bend to stifle as first place. Moved sound in all directions.

1st Roper’s GR CH ROM, BEL, SWISS CH LIBERTIA NEVER SAY NEVER TOKOSHA (IKC) – 3 ½ yr male good bone in keep with his size. Head is masculine, with broad skull slight stop, broad muzzle of good length, almond shaped brown eye, ears set and carried well. He has well balanced angles fore and aft which worked well together on the move where he displayed ease of movement with fluidity and soundness in all directions. Chest is well developed, topline straight and firm in loin. Stood straight in front, with strong pasterns and tight feet, from behind he has a good width to his hindquarters where thighs are well muscled. BOB

1st Morris’ CWNHAPUS INNOKO JW SHCEX OSW – 5 ½ yr well-constructed male, extremely showy, who consistently stood well at all times even when relaxed. In profile his outline is so eye catching. Head is well proportioned giving a masculine expression, nice almond shaped eye and a good ear, excellent pigmentation. Nice arch to neck on the stance, and of medium length. Good front angles and matching rear angles enabled him to move with efficiency around the ring, he has a firm topline which was held on the stance and maintained when moving, good spring of rib, deep chest and loins are well muscled. Presented in lovely condition. He may have stood alone but he thoroughly deserved BOB and later proved himself by getting WG1 in a strong group.

1st Blaney’s SUI/ESP/IRE/INT CH SUNA-SANIK’S ELECTRIC NOAH OF FENRIRKIN (IMP NOR) – 5 ½ yr fully mature impressive male, loved his head which oozed masculinity, broad skull, moderate stop, strong muzzle that tapers nicely, strong powerful jaw, firm ears set and carried well. Lovely angles fore and aft both of which are well off for bone and muscle. Broad and deep chest with well-sprung rib. Strong topline which was held at all times whether in stance or on the move. His side gait displays how well his extension and drive can work as one. BOB and pushed hard in the group.

2nd Blaney’s FENRIRKIN KEEPING IT LOKI – at just 6mths old this raw puppy managed the day well. Correct head shape with good ear set, carriage is developing, dark eye and correct length to muzzle for head proportions. Body length is good and has well angled hindquarters. Moved sound. BP

1st Blaney’s ESP/INT CH FENRIRKIN CAN’T BE LATE SHCEX (SUI-JUN’CH) – 3yr mature bitch, who benefits from good angles. Medium bone in keep with her size, stood straight in front, from rear hocks are seen to be strong, finished with nice feet. Chest is deep with well sprung rib. Head is pleasing with broad skull, correct ear size, set and carriage. RBOB

2nd Blaney’s SUI/IRE CH SUNA-SANIK’S FREIDIGE ALICE AV FENRIRKIN (IMP NOR) – 5 ½ yr fully mature bitch, lots to like just not the front angles as 1st place. Good wedge shape head. Nice body length and spring of rib. Hindquarters are nicely angled giving her drive on the move. Sound in movement.

Bernese Mountain Dog

1st Wort’s MEADOWPARK WHAT A DREAM AT GLORYBERN – 12mth male with beautiful bone and substance for his age. Stunning head with a dark almond shape eye, ears are set well and lay close but lift well when attentive, nice length to muzzle and well-defined stop. Good lay of shoulder with a nice return of upper arm, brisket is of a good depth where it meets with elbows, chest is broad. Feet are compact. Really pleasing rear angles where muscle is developing. Extremely sound mover in all directions, where his matching angles work so well together. BOB

1st Williams’ TINLAND PINK SAPPHIRE – 6yr old bitch with a correct head shape, flat skull, defined stop, strength in muzzle, eyes dark but slightly round, ears carried well. Her angles fore and aft are well balanced and she used these to her advantage on the move, where soundness could be seen. Would like more development to rib cage, however the depth of brisket is good. Strong topline, lovely croup. Hocks are strong and feet compact. RBOB

1st Webb’s GREEN PEARL UNIQUELY BARRACECHI (ATC NAF) – 11mth black bitch who oozes breed type, so well put together. Head is so appealing, ears set back and lay close to head, muzzle strong and short and complimented with a dark eye. Lovely depth of chest which is already broad, front construction is put together to allow elbows to be close to body. Strong top line for one so young onto strong loins and good croup. Her rear angles are strong and put together so well to enable her to drive with power. Movement is so free and sound. BP and took WPG1 in a strong group, then later RBPIS – so pleased she is a gem, I could have taken her home.

1st Plant’s BARRACECHI ROMANI CHARM FOR SHADANN (A.I.) - 4yr black bitch. Nice size and bone to compliment. Good head where skull is broad and muzzle strong and broad, good dark eye, ears are carried well and of correct size. Neck is strong and of good length blending onto a well laid shoulder. Liked her return of upper arm where elbows are close to body. Chest is broad and deep, with ribs that are well developed, strong top line and muscular loin, rear angles are well put together displaying strength and power complimented with strong hocks. Her movement is very fluent and easy, where soundness is easy to see. BOB

1st Phillips’ SURLEVAL DRAIG MOONDANCER – 14mth male and only his second show so still learning what it is all about. This dog was presented in superb condition and is a credit to his owner. His head shape and proportions are smashing, he has a medium ear that lays close to cheek, broad in skull, well defined stop, muzzle short and square and finished with a black nose. Lovely front angles which are broad and strong, good length of neck meets and blends well onto the lay of shoulder, broad back, well sprung ribs, with a good depth and width to chest. For his age his top line and loin are strong and muscular. Liked his first and second thigh which are broad and with correct bone and strength. Whilst both he and his handler were learning the ropes and struggled on the move, his soundness was easy to see. A lovely dog who has the potential to do very well in the future, with training, guidance and advice BOB

1st Moulsdale’s COOKIE BOMBS LEO FROM THE OLD OAKS (IMP DEU) – 9mth Leonberger male. Lovely male with head developing well, nice width to skull good ear set and carriage which have good feathering, muzzle of correct proportion, medium oval eye, finished with a lovely black mask. Well angled in front, with width of chest and rib cage still developing, being still a little narrow is causing to stand a little 10 to 2 but this is an age matter and will correct with age. Loved his rear angles and how well he used them on the move in unison with his front angles, holding his shape at all times. BP and pleased to award him Puppy Working Group 2.

2nd De Silva’s TYLLA – A young Dogue De Bordeaux bitch of 6mths of age at her first show and what a sterling performance she put on. A very tidy bitch who is put together very well. She has a good head, with nice ear carriage, a correct eye and stop, broad powerful jaw with a good chin. Stands straight in front, good feet, nice top line, with a nice spring of rib, lovely croup and tail set, nicely angled stifle, strong hocks. She was really confident and handled so well, pushed hard for 1st place but let herself down as a little reluctant on the move.

1st Hopkins & Gottdenker’s CAN CH, CH CLAIRCREEK PURE ART CAN IMP – PWD 4 yr male presented in beautiful condition and a true showman. Liked his head shape, broad skull, well defined stop, broad muzzle that tapers off to a large black nose, dark eye, very attentive to his handler. Loved his powerful front which has a good lay of shoulder, and standing straight in front, rear is well angulated with defined muscle and thickness to thighs, complimented with strong hocks. He has a good spring of rib, and good width to chest, undercarriage is pleasing with a slight tuck up. Movement was so true in all directions where he used his powerful rear angles well. Really liked him. Best AVNSC and then 3rd in Working Group.

AV Working Veteran Dog or Bitch (5, 2 abs)

1st Morris’ HOLD BACK THE RIVER LEGEND OF THE SPIRIT WITH CWNHAPUS (IMP POL) JW ShCM – 8year old Siberian Husky, what a superb male, in such good condition. A quick glance and you can instantly see how well balanced he is. Liked his masculine head, it is proportioned well and tapers without being snipy nor coarse, maybe his stop is a little steep but doesn’t spoil his expression. Nice length of neck onto lovely front assembly, body that is developed well and of a medium length, level topline with a correct under carriage that has a slight tuck up, loins are still taut, hindquarters are still well-muscled with a nicely bent stifle and strong hocks. He floated around the ring and was so pleasing to the eye. No hesitation at awarding him Best Veteran and was so pleased to hear that he then went on to take Reserve Best Veteran in Show!

2nd Popp’s CYBERUS APOLLO OF PENYCHEN – This Mastiff at just 7 years of age is so well boned throughout, his head is in keep with his size and bone, but a little more wrinkle than I’d like. However, he has many attributes to compliment him with, his length to height ratio is good, strong muscular neck onto a good lay of shoulder, broad well-developed chest, well sprung rib, strong topline which is held at all times, nice croup onto hindquarters that are broad and still has plenty of muscle, strength in hock is excellent. He moved with ease showing his soundness at all times.

A super group, where I had to shortlist to take a closer look.

Group 1 - Morris’ CWNHAPUS INNOKO JW SHCEX OSW – Siberian Husky (See breed for critique)

Group 2 – Sweet’s EUROPE TEREN BOSSROT IMP UKR – Rottweiler – A lovely well put together bitch, strong yet feminine head, lovely dark eye, good fill to cheek, broad muscle, nice ear carriage, would like a darker nose. Liked her angles throughout, her hind quarters are well muscled, with a good thickness of thigh. Strong top line, body has good ribs and strong loins, undercarriage is pleasing. Moved very well, displaying power and positiveness at all times. Presented in super condition; to finish her off I would like tighter feet. Pushed the Siberian hard.

Group 3 - Hopkins & Gottdenker’s CAN CH, CH CLAIRCREEK PURE ART CAN IMP – Portuguese Water Dog

Group 4 - Kingsley’s DAINOAK CARPE SCELERISQUE – Great Dane
