Wath West Melton & District Open Show 2/3/24 Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at their show, I had a lovely albeit chilly day. `Given the lovely Ridgeback entry in AVNSC I would suggest that they consider breed classes for them! Thank you to my steward for keeping the ring running smoothly and for looking after me all day. Thank you to the exhibitors for their entry and for accepting my decisions with grace, the atmosphere was really lovely. The quality of the breeds overall was good. There were some carrying a little more weight than I would like and there was some questionable movements at times. I was pleased with my main winners in the breed classes and the hound groups. My hound group winner was the beagle Bridgeman & Logues Kubrick Csiki Koop at Kingswin (Imp SRB). He is a lovely sound dog, his front and rear construction is just what the standard calls for. He is balanced throughout in his body structure which is what enables him to move so soundly with reach and drive. I am super critical of movement in beagles and he was clean fore and aft, he is shown in super hard condition. He has real ring presence and draws your eye. His is very strong in head, more than I would personally like, but I do not find him coarse. I forgave this as he is so soundly made, he was a pleasure to judge and I was happy to award him the group. Dachshund L/H Puppy (1,0) 1 - Palmers Ratterdach Love of My Life - pleasing bitch of 8 months, pretty feminine head with correct ear set and dark eye. Adquate neck into good front and shoulders, front feet well under. Good rear giving good drive on the move. BOB & BP Post Grad (2,1) 1 - Woods Faulksfollie Lady Gemima Mature B&T bitch of 6 years. Feminine head with good ear set sand dar eye. OK shoulder and front. Carrying a little weight but strong topline. Good feet, good depth of chest. Moved OK. Open (1,0) 1 - Woods Faulksfollie Lord Fontaroy Mature male and masculine throughout with out being coarse. Good front and good shoulders. Strong topline maintained on the move. Good feet. Good depth of chest and prominent breast bone. RBOB Dachshund W/H Puppy (1,0) 1- Moores Cloudside Vincent Nice dog puppy with pleasing head and expression. Lovely eyebrows and harsh coat throughout. Sloping shoulders, good feet and depth of chest with prominent breast bone. Tail set correct, strong topline, back reasonably level. Moved soundly in all directions. BPIB & HPG2 Post Grad (4,0) 1 - Wards Nasiriyah’s Lavender at Morlanow Won the class on movement. Lovely head with good ear set and dark eye. Good length of neck into sloping shoulders. Front well under, good depth of chest and prominent breast bone. Strong topline with good tail set. Moved out well with good drive RBOB 2 - Brierleys Tatze Harlem A little taller than one, good head with lovely beard and eye brows. Dark eye. Correct ear set. OK depth of chest , prominent breast bone. Good rear moved well, a little close behind. Open (3,1) 1 - Brierleys Bramalodge Bonfire Heart at Tatze really lovely butch nearing 3. Beautiful head, correct in all ways with lovely dark eye. Coat in really good quality and harsh throughout. Lovely and prominent chest with excellent depth. Sound front and rear angulation, moved the best on the day BOB and HG4 2 - Palmers Terkel Tracks Freya A bit up on leg. Pleasing head. A bit short in body for height. Good feet and tail set , OK ribs and depth of chest. A little lacklustre on the move today. Dachshund M S/H Puppy (4,2) 1- Corominas’ Scenterbay Rafael for Ruichango pleasing young male, lovely overall shape. Excelllent chest prominent breast bone, sound front with sloping shoulders, forearm short into good feet. Nicely proportioned, good rear, moved with reach and drive BOB & BPIB 2 - Masons Teckeltown Elton John Nice but immature little hound. Nice head, good ear set and dark eye. Front construction sound with nicely placed shoulder. OK forearm, good feet. A little long in body for height. Moved out OK. Post grad (3,2) 1 - Holmes’ Gabmaddi Carolina Rose Well proportioned and balanced little bitch, nice pretty head, with correct proportions. Good chest depth and prominent breast bone. Level topline and correct tail set. Good rear. Moved soundly in all directions. RBOB Open (4,3) 1 - Holmes’ Mumysami You’re All I Need Nice dog of good size. Pleasing head with nice dark eye and ear set. OK length of neck in to good front with correction angulation and lay of shoulder. A little short in rib and therefore long in loin. OK rear and moved OK Dachshund M W/H Puppy (3,2) 1 - Corominas’ Almarxils Diego for Ruichango - smart little male, good chest depth and prominent breast bone. Soundly constructed in front with good bone. Nice proportions, good feet. Well ribbed and well back. Solid topline good rear. Moves lovely in profile. BOB & BPIB Whippet Puppy (2,0) 1 - Coopers Crosshop I’m Alwayz Yours At Ballauren feminine bitch of correct size. Lovely proportioned head, very pretty lovely ears, rose shaped and set correctly. OK neck into good shoulders, good depth of chest and balanced topline, correct tail set and carriage. Moved lovely in profile. BPIB & HPG3 Junior (2,1) 1 - Wheeler & Rutters Ranveli Royal Touch Nice bitch of good size, well muscled throughout. Nice shoulder placement and angulation, tight elbow on stack. Good topline, maintained on the move with correct tail set. Sound movement and covered the ground nicely. BOB Post Grad (5, 1) 1 - Whitaker-Crosbys Mulcair Dun and Dusted JW Nice bitch, prettiest of heads with lovely ears and dark eye - lovely length of neck into well laid shoulder. Good depth of chest. Strong and straight hocks and strong pastern in front - good feet. All together throughout but I would prefer a little more curve to her topline - best mover in the class which cinched it for her. RBOB 2 - Higginbottoms Ranveli Royal Duke of Dawnsafon JW Lovely shaped boy, just a little nervous today. Lovely balanced head, good shoulder and nice topline with correct tail set and carriage. Good depth of chest, good hocks and pasterns. Open (3,2) 1 - Cottrells Blackstream Be True To Me mature dog of larger mould. Masculine head, strong neck into OK shoulders. Good depth of chest and nice topline. Sound rear construction. Moved out well with nice drive. Afghans Puppy (1,0) 1 - Lancashire & O’Donnells Drishaun A Gift Of Thistle (AI) Very raw baby - lovely balanced head. Good neck into well laid shoulders. Strong topline and correct tail set. Good feet. Ample depth of chest and correct under carriage shape. Moved very soundly for one so young - one to watch I think. BPIB, RBOB & HPG4 Junior (3,1) 1 - Lancashire & O’Donnells Drishaun What Baby Wants nice balanced bitch in proportions and good height. Pleasing pretty head with correct eye shape and colour. Strong neck into well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest, nice level topline held on the move. Sound rear with nice second thigh and width between pin bones. Moved the soundest out of all exhibits today, loved a bigger ring in the group BOB & HG2 2 - Kirk & Williams’ Istani Davidofff The Game Pleasing male with lovely masculine head. Strong neck into good shoulders, good depth of chest and well ribbed back. Good topline with good width at pin bones. Good rear angulation and tail carriage - I just preferred the movement of 1. Irish wolfhound Puppy (1,1) Open (4,1) 1 - Harris’ Jaguar Shark At Sullyenda 22 month dog, a little immature, pleasing head with nice expression, good neck into sound shoulders, adequate depth of chest and ribbed well back. Good rear - needs to mature, won class on movement. BOB 2 - Dawsons Hydeback Heart of Gold at Graeyfyn 2 year old male, nice masculine head with dark eye, OK neck into well placed shoulder, good depth of chest and strong topline, a little out in front on the move. RBOB Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) Puppy 1 - Watson & Kennas Cynetkoy’s Heihei nice little hound, pleasing head of correct proportions, nice dark eye and corrrect placement and length of ear. Nice neck into good shoulders, front well under. Topline maintained on the move, could be a little more animated. BPIB & BOB Open (3, 1) 1 - Townsends Afterglow Curtain Call Avec Roxastan nice male of good substance, masculine head with correct ear set. Nice dark eye. OK length of neck into good shoulder placement. Tight in elbow and good feet. Good topline, well ribbed, correct tail set. Good rear - moved well RBOB 2 - Watson & Kennas Cynetkoy Dizzi Lizzi smaller bitch and finer throughout. Pleasant feminine head with dark eye and correct ear set. OK neck into OK shoulders, top-line correct and correct tail set. Moved OK Import Register Open (1,1) AVNSC Puppy (5,2) 1 - Sanders Parkers Era Lilian Goliath Classicus (Imp CZE) very raw but very promising puppy. Beautifully femanine, prettiest of heads with lovely eye shape and colour. Correct set ears. Pleasing lengthen of neck into excellent shoulders, good chest and good tuck up. Strong topline maintained on the move with correct tail set. She was so proud and uncaring on the move, she is really lovely and really wants you to look at her. BPIB and HPG1 2 - Couplands Rayol Charlie Brown pleasing male with lovely head. Good depth of chest and prominent breast bone, good feet and correct front and rear. Reasonably level topline and correct tail set. Moved really well. AVNSC Junior (6,2) 1 - Nashs Mutoko’s Noble Preacher lovely masculine dog presented in hard condition. Pleasing masculine head without coarseness. Strong neck into well laid shoulder. Good depth of chest with plenty of heart and lung room. Strong topline maintained on the move, excellent feet. Moved with power and purpose. 2 - Greeves’ Penholda Sweet Lady nice feminine bitch, pleasing head with correct eye and ear set. Good neck into well laid shoulders. Pleasing depth of chest and good topline, I just preferred the movement and overall picture of 1 today. AVNSC Post Grad (4,1) 1 - Hudsons Mutoko’s Parkers Glory well put together bitch of nice proportions. Lovely head with correct eye and ear set. Strong neck into well laid shoulder, good depth of chest and ribbed well back. Strong topline maintained on the move, shown in hard condition. RBOB 2 - Greeves’ Penholda Sweet Lady AVNSC Open (4,3) 1 - Picton & Inces Priorpark Point and Click pleasing male of even temperament. Masculine head with correct eye and correct ear set. Good neck into good shoulders, nice feet. Good depth of chest and strong topline. Correct tail set. Moved out well and covered the ground. BOB & HG3 AV hound Veteran 1 - Whitaker-Crosby’s Cobyco Could Be The Last at Mulcair JW ShCM lovely femanine whippet of nice size and proportions. Pretty head, balanced with nice eye and correct ears. Strong neck into well laid shoulders, sound rear construction, lovely topline maintained on the move. Andrea Keepence-Keyte (Alandobel)
