Baby puppy (5,0)

1. Flower - Serenlas After Dark. Tricolour bitch. Very promising. Excellent in front and rear angulation giving a lovely outline which won her the class. Clean skull with excellent backskull. Eye a little bold but very dark. Excellent neck in to shoulders of good length and well laid back. Long upper arm and excellent fore chest for one so young. Very sound. Best baby puppy

2. Walder - Roughrigg the Life Of Riley at Hanvale. Sable and white. Nice boy. Different style to the winner but has good breed type. Excellent dark eye, good shape contributing to breed typical expression. Slightly shorter all over than the winner but this is what I expect from a puppy this age. Another very promising puppy.

1. Collino - Imaginist A Griffin’s Mark. 11 month old tricolour. Appreciate this boys overall appearance. Head needs to flatten and pull out. Time will tell if this improves. To go over he has plenty to like. Good layback of shoulder, level topline, ok rear. On the move he is a bit messy and front does not extend as hands on suggests it should. A dog who has a lot of growing on and developing to do to make the upper house. 

2. Gatt - Imaginist Superior Sun. Sable litter brother to 1. Better skull than his brother - head on he excels in breed type. Front assembly ok. Rear is weak on the stand and poor on the move. 

Junior (3,0)

1. Wray-Ramsden- Takhisis Daggers at Dawn JW. Sable and White. 14 months old. Nice type. Clean skull with good stop. Could do with a touch more backskull. Dark, well placed eye giving a pleasing expression. A little steep front and rear, something I almost expect from junior males - still balanced. Excellent ribbing. Should make a nice adult. Moved out well RBD

2. Rowlinson - Hanvale Alexander McQueen. Another 14 months old. The happiest boy. Excellent dark eye. Head ok but could be flatter with a cleaner stop. Good length of shoulder but a little steep. Would prefer stronger hocks. Moved ok.

1. Skinner - Ladnar Makeithappen for Nikal. Blue Merle dog. 19 month old blue Merle. Good type. Head of a good length, well placed eye aiding excellent expression. Narrow all through but has plenty of time to fill out. Difficult to assess on the move as this dog is very full of life! Tail could be longer, pasterns and rear could be stronger but a dog that with time, training and the correct conditioning, could do very well.

1. Flower - Androma Dreamcatcher at Serenlas (IMP SVN). 5yr old shaded sable male. Upstanding male, well presented in good coat. Stood in profile he looks a picture of excellent breed type. Good length of skull. Dark eye which could be a better shape and better placed. To handle he has a good front assembly with balanced rear, could do with more width throughout. Sound on the move. BD BOB 

2. Collino - Wicani Invoking Spirit. 6yr old male. Nice type. A little deep in skull. Moved ok. Would like to see him again on a better day. 

Veteran bitch (2,1)

1. Benton - CH Brooklynson Jane Russell of Oakestelle VW. 9yr old Sable and White bitch that I judged as a youngster. Many of my previous notes still apply and there is not much more to say about her that hasn’t been said. Lovely type, good length of skull with slight stop. This bitch excels in rear. Good hocks and excellent drive. Showing her age in her front pasterns on the move but still powers around the ring. RBB BVIB 

Minor puppy (1,0)

1. Primmer - Xanthe Angel Silverstre at Colcanis (IMP BEL) very pretty puppy. Dark, good head, well placed eye and using ears giving pleasing expression. Front and rear still developing. Excellent length of back. Well handled by her young master. Hope to see this pair again around the ring. 

Puppy bitch (2,0)

1. Collino - Imaginist My fair Lady. Sable and white. 11 months old. Substantial bitch of good type. Skull of good length and nice and flat with correct stop. Good dark eye. Ears set well and used. Good front with excellent length of upper arm. Good topline and decent rear with good strong hocks. Which gave her the edge over number 2. Currently a little square but time on her side. Moved ok. Nice puppy. BPIB

2. Wells - Gataj Little Miss Sassyat Terelimon. 9 month old Sable and White. Very pretty and refined bitch. Lovely dark, well placed eye giving soft expression but lacking fill and length in back skull. Good front and very good ribbing. Hocks needing more strength. 

Junior Bitch (1,0)

1. Gallagher - Stregato My Silver Tassie with Gemheid. 15 month old blue merle bitch. Very impressive, upstanding collie when viewed in profile. Loved her flowing lines over the neck through a lovely balanced outline, rise over the loin and strong rear. Although her head has good length and is flat, I found it to be a little deep through, her stop a little full and her eyes round and light which did not give the desired expression. She has good length and upper arm and shoulder, the latter being a little steep which showed on the move as she tended to plait her action was quite choppy. She has good strong hocks which facilitated an honest rear action. I moved her an extra time in the challenge, hoping she would settle into a steadier gait but I feel she perhaps needs more time for that front to develop.

Post Graduate (2, 1 withdrawn)

1. Primmer - Riverside Song Paloma Nera at Colcanis (IMP ROM). 2yr old bitch. Pretty girl with dark eye. Head would benefit from more fill and more chin. Front ok with fair layback of shoulder. Hocks could be stronger. Not enough bone and far too much weight unfortunately. She moved well enough.

Mid Limit (4,1)

1. Margetts - Collingvale Campari. 3yr old Tricolour. Won the class on her free movement. Would prefer more fill in skull. Shoulder a little steep which caused her to not extend as well as I would like but sound enough.

2. Swain - A touch of blaze for Lexcol. 2yr old. Petite bitch. Pleasing eye. Would prefer more fill in skull. Unsettled on the move and could do with more strength in hocks.

1. Margetts - Lynmead Lemonade for Collingvale JW. 6 yr old blue Merle. Very pretty bitch not the biggest of bitches but enough of her for me. Pleasing head and expression thanks to her well placed, dark eye and well used ears. Shoulder well laid back and good return of upper arm. Good ribbing and strong topline. Good rear with strong hocks. Movement sound and presented a pleasing picture. Lost out to the dog who I felt had the superior outline and better length of skull. 

2. Wray-Ramsden - Takhisis Lady of Mystery. 2yr old Sable and white bitch. A very honest collie. Pleasing outline and very attentive to her handler. Good flat skull, well placed dark eye. Good front and rear assembly. Well ribbed. Sound on the move but lost out today. She had a litter 5 months previous and although is coming back in to condition in good time, she is not quite there yet but I appreciated seeing her again, having judged her as a youngster.
